i have lost alot of weight ( had a pretty nice body at 1 point got into an unhealthy/abusive relationship and at the end of it I didnt recognize myself in more ways than 1 ) I am stuggling to lose last 10lbs i have lots of advice in this subject ( no counting cals/ eating special foods/ and def no starving ) if you would like to be kind of like "weight loss buddies through emails I would love to do this w soeone esle to give support/encoragment and tips i will say a couple real quick things simple carbs ( white bread/rice/pasta ect ) will leave you tired in the long run and wont keep you full long as simple carbs break down into sugar very quickly whole wheat is much better nutrition wise as well as keeping you full longer fiber and protein are key to staying full on less food fiber is very filling and protein takes awhile to break down ( this is true for fat as well there are good fats peanut butter/nuts/ if its mono or poly fat its good saturated/trans very bad) but good or bad fat is high in cals so be aware of how much consuming ) salads can be great unless you load it up w dressing ( dont use non fat dressing as alot of the nutrients you get from veggies require some fat to help body absorb) stay hydrated!!! you wouldnt believe how many time i thought i was craving sugar when a cold glass of water is what i really needed ( its very refreshing helps perk you up wo the sugar crash later) dont eat out of boredom/emotion ( my big downfall) if your bored /upset go for a walk write in a journal, dance, email me lol i could write on this subject for days ( i am a bit of a geek when comes to health magazines have been reading 2 or 3 a month for years) ok well email me if intested and good luck!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

MemberMarch 25, 2009 at 1:35 pm in reply to: trying to convince parents pole dancing isn’t skanky!i think its 2009 and a woman can earn $$ any way she pleases I just feel in my opinion that if i am going to pay hard earned $$ to see a lady perform thats what I expect a perfomance I am not saying floorwork is not a performance when its actually a performance booty poppin/shakin ect thats all great and I know its not as easy as it looks but when a girls is getting paid to dance I’d like to see that she made some effort to entertain and not just show up looking bored and aggravated https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif I have been to clubs and been pretty disapponted by what i have seen https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif (again these are local clubs in my area and I have obviously only seen a small part of what goes on various nights) i have also seen totally awe inspiring performaces by ladies in clubs on the net just so talented even when a lady is using pretty basic moves but you can tell their into it ( or atleast do a good job pretending if their not) and they seem to enjoy the attention of the audience thats easy to get into and enjoy i think strippers/exotic dancers are great and can be fun to watch i just dont think you should be on stage if all your going to do is lay on the floor barely moving except to open legs or walk around giving dirty looks ( esp to the females in the club) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_ncool.gif as i said these are all MY opinions we are all entitled to are own thoughts on things and i believe we are all mature enough to discuss are various opinions I dont believe my opionions degrade anyone its like me being a performer and getting on stage barely bothering to do anything, giving dirty looks/looking completely bored/aggravated and than me expecting you to not only be cool with spending $$ at the door to get in , but than also wanting you to hand over more of your $$ i mean if your not happy w your job work somehwere else or atleast learn to fake it thats how i feel as said am dying to check out a nice club to watch ladies perform https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif am more intrested in pole tricks but would be happy to just get some inspiration in general https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif ( just cant get inspired by women w no feeling for what they do wether singing dancing ect) so thats where I stand https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif hope no one takes offense although cant see why anyone would i’m not saying if you cant do tricks you shouldnt be on stage im saying if your not going to make it enjoyable for the people who are paying to see you, than no in my opinion you should find other work
( i realize for some people the whole idea is to just see naked/semi naked women, but i have alot more respect for dancers than that i want them to do well i want to see they enjoy their craft ) if you read my post through (and the tons of previous posts) you will see I am very supportive of everyone and there desicions I just dont like being mislead into believing I am paying for 1 thing and getting something very diffrent than what was advertised hope everyones doing well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif -
yes it does cause some bumps and bruises along the way but it literally toughens you up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif not only are my muscles/confidence stronger so is my skin!! used to get bad pole burn/blisters that would eventually start bleeding on my palms ect now I consider myself a pretty tough cookie https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_viking.gif it gets easier as you get a better feel for the pole and how to handle yourself properly https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_king.gif

MemberMarch 24, 2009 at 12:46 pm in reply to: trying to convince parents pole dancing isn’t skanky!as far as dancers i think alot of it is the club the strippers i have known personally have not been able to more than the very basic spins (no inverts) if that, and have seen some trashy looking girls at this certain club in the area that is known for run-down looking women w not much in the way of dance/pole skills there is a nickname for this club that i wont post here its just really a bad atmosphere alot of known drug dealers are in and out ect just not a good look https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_l.gif i would LOVE to visit a classy exotic dance club where the dancers are entertainers not just crawling all over the floor i am pretty sure there is 1 in area ( closer than 1 just mentioned) that is suppouse to be a little more upscale and women friendly in my personal opinion[/i there is a big diffrence between an exotic dancer and a girl who just gets on stage and crawls around with her a$$ in the air https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_ncool.gif dancing and esp pole dancing are to me beautiful ways to express yourself, explore your sexualitly, and yes entice people but theres no talent (in my opinion) in just looking as skany as possible and crawling around and spreading your legs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif to me if your going to make a living off dancing on stage w a pole you should atleast put in a little effort to learn a few basic moves or atleast learn some sensual ways of moving on stage again i have been to see ladies"dance" several times in my life and havent been impressed as i said i know there are clubs (esp in RI and Boston) w lovely ladies of all shapes sizes who are amazing & talented who i wouldnt mind spending money to see perform bc thats what you get a performance https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif not just a mostly naked girl looking bored or strung out ( i rememeber 1 girl looked soooo aggravated being on stage and when my girl friend went to hand her money she actually gave her a real dirty look and turned her back just walked away like a big F u) I have actually been asking around for some time to get some people together to go to 1 of the nicer clubs but alot of females dont think they would enjoy watching another female dance( prob bc havent even tried or bc have had bad experiences like me ) and the guys seem to be willing to just see T&A and not care about how the lady performs as long as she looks good https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif hopefully will get up there soon really am hoping to do an ameuter night over the spring/sumer and would like to check out the clubs/atmospheres https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif sorry for such a long post just got in and am so over-tired but cant sleep https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

well got really lazy the last part of last week and weekend eating alot of fats food/night out drinking/chips ect and no exersise (basically) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif but did turn lemons into lemonade last night went to finally get a strong practice in but pole was just too slippery for even basic things so instead of fighting it or getting frustrated i spent alot of time working on floor moves/exersices, basic spins, ect and had 1 of the best exersise sessions in awhile https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif just really relaxed no camera rolling, no pressure to try to learn any new moves or struggle with difficult ones i just really had fun spent time trying out some of veenas booty moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif am hoping to get a good inverted moves sessions soon https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif also did 1 of my harder workout dvds this am after work (and got in a good strectch session!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif ) bought a new mp3 player today so can start dancing to what i want rather than being stuck w whatevers on (you’ll notice in my buutons video i am so over the song 3/4 way in https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif lol) ok so hows everyone else doing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif

omg so glad your alright!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif you must be a cat landing on your feet.. what does that make me? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_elephant.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_nemo.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_smurfin.gif i bought (i know i know) a peek-aboo pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif (if you dont know the deal w these dont EVER buy 1 for any purpouse https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_ncool.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif such a dangerous piece of crap!!!!) i was assured you could spin/invert ect ( by someone i had trusted and have not talked to since) i was soooooo excited https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif ( i mean really you dont know how obssesed w poling i was / still am i literally broke my lamp almost in 2 bc i was so desprate to try some spins i thought well.. hmm.. ok .. i’ll give it a go it just might work https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pirat.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif so i grab my tall lamp w metal pole and try to do a little swing ..again i know i know but i wanted it sooo bad i spent so much time looking for usable poles parks/street signs/grape vines no luck all too skinny or too wide i was like poli-locks looking for just the right 1 lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_moneyeyes.gif ) anyway so i finally set up peekaboo and later that night ( no time after setup as had to work) i go upstairs to my dark attic ( where pole was/is) and i am looking at that thing like its a showdown https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif like ok pole.. its just you and me now.. so whats it going to be? are we going to make beautiful dances together or are you going to break my ass?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif
so i mustered up my courage/excitment and ran to it and weeeeee!!!!!!RRRRRRGGGGSSSSSHHHHHHHHIIIII%%%%%%!!!! pole comes crashing down on me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif ( as well as my dreams of spinning and jumping on pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif )
i mean there i am alone in the dark laid out flat on my back just completely stunned w a pole on top of me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif i;m just gald i only tried a basic spin and not an invert https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gifi have my poles 1 on thick carpet w padding the other on hardwood floor no mat/carpet my friends bf weighs over 200lbs and inverts jumps on it ect and i also have put pole through some rounds w heavier people and rough hosing and my pole has stayed secure https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif i would def say always give it a real good push/ pull before stating a session and throughout if poling for more than a few songs ( only takes a second to check between songs and could save injury) well again so glad to hear you have matrix skills and were able to just do a sommersault and land in front of the olympic judges on your feet https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif ( dont mind me i am suppouse to be sleeping in to catch up on week of not sleeping, but my doves are singing to me to let me know they’re up so i should be too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif lol ok sorry such long post https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_colors.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif

welcome I think your going to love what pole dancing does for you ( phsyique, strength, balance, coodination, confidence, swagger in your step.. or maybe thats just me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif lol) as far as males they of course get all the health benefits, but i think its also a fun alternative to doing the same ol same ol at the gym lifting weights ( although important, basically works strength and not much else) not to mention some guys love to dance https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking2.gif (wish mine did) and alot of them have an amazing natrual ability to just swing all crazy right away as usually have more upper body strength to start with https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif there is a big misconception poling is all about stripping/seducing ( which thats some of the fun of it ) but let me say I am trying to get my 50+ yr old mom to try (and not bc i need her seducing her husband..ugh.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_arrow.gif ok.. anyway.. lol) but bc i know it would build strength/balance and that is so important as you get older strength training helps maintain bone mass https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_study.gif another really important thing as you age by training this way you lessen the chances of taking a fall ( there is no doubt in my mind my balance/coodination has improved since poling) and if you do, less likely to break something https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif i am not the person to be getting into this with as i could literally write paragraphs about why i love poling and why i think everyone should give it a fair chance https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_joker.gif well as far as bruises ect its going to happen it just is https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif esp when you first start it does get better as you get more strength and a better feel of how to move your body gently on the pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif if your afraid of gettin hhurt your not going to get to far ( like me w handspring i know its my fear thats holding me back https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking.gif ) i used to have such bad bruises when first started it actually hurt to walk after https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_ncool.gif now i still get bruises (mostly when trying new things) but not nearly as bad and things that used to hurt sooo bad now i barely feel https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif (sitting on pole w no hands ect) good luck if you need any help everyone is really great about giving advice take care and enjoy!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_nemo.gif
