thanks Charley, I know I have seen it mentioned that others do it as well and some do evaluations from video. Not something that I'm looking to do myself as in charge people for skype lessons but would consider doing for myself since I'm still pretty isolated out here.

ok I have to restate that. I won't say they were total crap. I just wasn't happy with the way they turned out.

I don't compete. Never will. But my only live audience pole performance I haven't felt like it was crap was down in FL this year with a live band.
my first performance which was at one of Charley's shows and it totally sucked except one hat toss at the begining.

"Someone was supposed to clean the poles properly. Obviously, that was not done"
I don't agree with this statement. I was there and poles were cleaned very well and all of us as polers know how heat/cold of pole or sweaty vs dry skin can effect the poles as well and that has nothing to do with the cleaning of the poles. The room was cold. with my uber dry skin I would never have been able to get a grip on the poles. They were keeping the room as cold as they could so the performers wouldn't get sweaty hands but that is a nerves thing too.
Glitter did wonderfully though she smiled through the whole thing I was biting my nails because I had seen Video of her routine before the comp and knew it wasn't going the way she had planned. She improvised very well and never let it show that it wasn't what she had planned to do. For that alone she totally rocks!

I know its asked all the timeyour adorably curvy, but compared to the Italian girl booty I carry around… I like the shorts I got from zweet for teaching. I should have got a pair of the skirted ones from Vertical Edge. I have a pair of the skulls from Alethea but those will be reserved for audiences that can tolerate half my butt hanging out….

one of my students has one (she got it long before taking lessons with me) and has it screwed into the ceiling and it still wants to get tighter or looser and won't really take any weight. I would stay far away from them.

I own 1 pair of flats other then my barn boots and one pair of tennis shoes and about 80 ish pairs of heels with over 3/4 of them being 4 inches or higher. I start my beginners barefoot and won't force them to wear heels but I personally love them.

lol at Midwest I kept going WTF was that??? and that NO WAY….how is that possible. Her style is a bit more gymnastic then what I really love but so freaking impressive in her movements….

I'm still currently a fan of 50. I'm going at attempt to get more used to a 45. I played for a few seconds on the 40 at Mid-West and I can't not imagine trying to do stuff on it with my giant hands. I felt like my fingers overlaped to the middle of my fingers.

I go to mid-west to support my friends and to see people I have known on line and would like to actually meet. I competed for years on horses. Comps tend to bring out the worst in people. I got into pole not only because it was a fun way to exercise but because of the loving relationships and supportiveness of the women involved. I had never liked being around other women much until I found pole and my pole friends. I feel like comps start bringing the cattiness and pit us against one another again which make me sad.
