also 2nd thought: Lindsay Lohan in interviews while making "I Know Who Killed Me" said she was taking pole classes like 4 hours a day everyday so I'm kind of surprised she didn't do more! I haven't seen the movie though so maybe there's more tricks in the film

this thread is hilarious!! I loved looking at the clips… who knew?! It's funny to watch all the different styles/skill levels.. I'm sure Sheila Kelly had her hand in a lot of these because of the Hollywood-LA connection.

Oh yes I neglected to say my apartment is a rental with hardwood flooring as well. Anyone have any experience with that?

I took bellydance on and off for a few years and loved it!! I would probably still do it if pole wasn't already so expensive haha.

The one thing that I really love about pole over bellydancing is the pace, but that may have been my teacher!! Bellydance was much faster (most of the time) and a good cardio workout! vs. I feel pole I like slowing down and I consider more strength training. (obviously both have elements of both).

Definitely give it a whirl (or a twirl if you will haha) and let us know what you think!

I realize this is a little bit late of a response but I was talking to the studio owners at my studio and they said a lot of times what they'll do when someone comes in with some experience is have them sign up for level 1 to learn the way the studio works AND whatever level they've been assessed at (which ever it may be for different studios) but they'll cut them a price discount since they're signing up for 2 series.

It's something worth asking about because if you're going to take multiple series anyway then you definitely would save some money in the long run!

and gosh I wish I had a pole at home. Once a week at a studio is so hard to really make progress! In my class you can definitely tell which girls have a pole at home vs which don't

I just saw this now (a little late for xmas, oops!) but love it! I’m supremely inflexible so while I would l love to participate in the valentines day one I’ll probably be more on the Easter/4th of July track. Suppppper cute idea though. Congrats, ladies! Y’all looked amazing 🙂

Oops I’ve totally asked that question! For me it was because I just did my 8th class ever (yay!) and wanted to kind of benchmark how long it takes to get to certain things. (obviously different per person but just a general idea- I can’t wait to invert!).

I agree time and ability have no correlation too. I think it’s sometime just a natural question to ask as small talk when you’ve first met someone in a class. At least it was in a complimentary way!

This same thing happened to me last week! I think it totally had to do with not enough warming up before a pole class (not my usual one).
I just graduated to a wrist brace because I take the bus everywhere and holding my arm up keeps agitating it.

These posts were super helpful. I think I’ll take an unfortunate break, do Veena’s stretches and wait to see. I wish my insurance was better right about now
