Pole fitness is becoming much more common now and is beginning to lose its stigma. I think as long as you don’t over advertise what you do you won’t have any problems.
I would just be aware that if you choose to join up and do go officer you need to have the respect of those you command. If your soldiers have easy access to photos or videos of you, no matter how innocent you intended them to be, or think they are, they could use you as ajoke, and depending on the content, not give you the respect they ought.
Ultimately though, if you’re good at your job a lot of the guys will admire you for your ability. Just expect the banter that comes from being in the military 🙂

@Organic your comment "Every week you gain weight and then you go to even do something "simple" like climb and all of a sudden it's a little harder. Just doing that though shows how strong you are and if you have fun than its worth it" has really struck a chord with me. I'd not thought of it in terms like that, as pregnant polers we should try to celebrate the strength and flexiness we still have, rather than feel upset by what we cannot do any longer – I'm definitely going to hold onto that sentiment!
Congrats on being so close to the finish line Bonita, i'm already dreaming about being that far along and i'm just under half way through. Hope your last month and delivery go well and are straightforward for you! Couldn't think of much harder things to do than TKB (if it is some sort of kick boxing like i'm assuming) during pregnancy! 🙂

Hi Ladies, i'm also due at the end of september 😀
Have been really sicky to begin with, but think it's finally gone away now.
Hoping to put my pole back up soon, but just not sure how I feel about it anymore, because I know i'm already restricted with what I can do. I teach gymnastics and struggled a bit for the first time last night. I now have super flexy legs and splits are a doddle but bending around the middle is now a lot harder even with the little bump I have.
I know i've lost strength already from being too sick to pole and would be happy to just work on strength and dance but already feel let down by my body. Also trying hard to enjoy seeing my bump in a non covered up form, but just not sure it really suits me around a pole.
Anyway, must stay positive and start doing some phys again to help me regain some control, especially now that I actually feel human again.
Hope you guys continue to have good and safe pregnancies 🙂

I watched BGT for the first time last night just to catch her. I normally hate all reality/talent show things, but actually really enjoyed it :S
Guilty pleasure that I'm going to have to watch it again so I can see her 😀

I haven't any advice for the exercises, as to be honest i'm too sick to do much at the moment but just wanted to say hi 'cause it sounds like we'll be due around the same time. Currently 12 weeks with my first, due 30th Sept. Hope all goes well for you! x

I've had a similar issue and the thing that works for me is skyping or jamming with someone else. That way their motivation helps you. You can't just sit and mope in a corner watching them do some cool tricks, you have to join in and share their excitement and successes. Even if you don't do much poling yourself you get a little bit of energy and enthusiasm back.

I found the CKR easier to get than the first, I think because I trusted my bent knee. I always used to make sure the bent knee was resting up the pole, giving me another anchor point so i wasn't just using the grip between my thighs.

    Can I be a half please 🙂

I should be in the UK by then, although won't have the car this time and not sure whether i'll actually be able to do anything. I'd like to come down and mingle though even if i can't lug my ass up a pole – I shall motivate and video y'all 😀

nichtooks's partner here with some Web geekery for Webmaster to look into.

Opening a link to view a thread (https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/…) from an email works perfectly.
However, should I choose to click the unfollow link (https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/…) from an email into a new tab the unfollow command runs as expected, but the redirect takes me to the log-in page, rather than the view page.
Copy/pasting the unfollow url into a new tab works as it's supposed to, so I doubt it's anything your end, Webmaster.

She's running IE 9 (to my horror), is it time she moved from the dark side or is there something else at play?

I also bought three swimsuits from ASOS over the summer to pole in, and they all work well. Though I have a tendancy to 'fall out' of a couple of them so have to wear a sports bra underneath.

I'm actually heading to the Falklands but have to come back to the UK first. Haven't yet organised my flights back, but i'll probably be around something like the weekend of the 6th and potentially the weekend of the 27th and also Sat 4th May. (Assuming we have a weekend jam.)

Please don't worry about organising dates around me, I have just found out that I am pregnant. Obviously it's still very early days, but not feeling too great at the moment, and certainly not been on the pole. If the jam is on whilst I'm around then i'll certainly come down, even if i just watch and video y'all, if it's not then i'm sure there'll be another one I can come to. xx

As a fellow brit and also lover of baking and the show i too say, put it down. I would maybe put pole fitness or aerial arts though, like someone has already suggested. But i think it would give you a little edge – I’d wanna see you bake anyway!! Good luck, and let us know how you get on!

My husband is frequently in the foreground concentration intently on his laptop. Don't think he could live without it. My cat frequently used to join in on her cat tree and was often more entertaining than I was. Sadly she died in the summer and now ,our puppy has to be locked in his cage whilst I pole, otherwise the temptation of me rolling around on the floor and dangling upside down is just too much for him and he has to come and try and dance with me

I can only comment from a british point of view, but I am married to a regular army soldier, and I am also a reservest soldier. With regards to social networking our military specifies that you cannot post anything to do with depolyment, e.g.
"Nichtooks is currently enjoying scoff house food at Bastian 2 cookhouse where she's just seen Prince William and laughed at the guard staff who are walking around wearing only their rifle and boxer shorts…." for obvious reasons. They can also 'tell you off' for posting anything that could bring the army into disrepute (they use this a lot). e.g. "Got into a proper good fight at the pub last night where I gave some civvie a right good seeing to". Other than that, no one has ever commented (in a negative way) about my pole pictures. Quite the opposite, all the lads in my troop want me take a pt lesson on the pole!!
In the British military the RAF is the poshest where you get the best treatment/food/accom, and the army has the worst, but it's by no means bad.
I assume in the US you get to choose a trade to go into, so I would choose a couple that interest you, then compare and contrast the same/similar trades in each of the forces. You might also want to consider the length of training for each force and fitness/intelligence requirements.

If you are going to be going into an intelligence unit or choose a trade that requires you to have mega security clearance then you need to be very honest in you activities. They will ask you questions about your past/hobbies/embarrassing things/anything that could potentially be used to blackmail you, for example, how you come from a very christian family but did it up the ass as a dare whilst you were a teenager. Something that in the grand scheme of things isn't terrible but someone could threaten to tell your family unless you give them some info they want. You get the idea.

Hope i've not waffled on too much or been patronising :/
    Good luck!

  • Hey, I'll join you. Currently living in Germany but I am a Brit, and the one hour time dif shouldn't make too much of a difference.

Debss, i'm in the army so can sometimes get cheaper rooms in hotels. Will have a gander later on and see if there's available nearby and will let you know prices etc.

Lizzie, can you make the jam on the sunday? We'll 'demonstrate' everything we learnt the previous day for you (she says in a hopeful voice!)

    Whoop Whoop!

Hazelnut I've just paid online for the workshops so I guess there are still places left.

Ah, thanks Debss, that's really helpful. I wasn't sure if the advanced one would be too advanced, but if we're around the same level then that'll be cool! Will defo do that now.
I'm still tempted to do the beginner one too though, just so's I know i've got a good foundation and for more ideas. Only ever had a few beginner lessons so I must be missing vital knowledge!

    Can't wait! 😀

Becky, i'm defo going to do at least one of the workshops, but I've no idea which one would be most beneficial to me or indeed what level i'm working at. Do you know what sort of things each w/shop will be covering? I'd love to do both but don't want to take a space away from your regular students.

Brilliant Becky – never done any aerial stuff. I am getting more and more excited by the day. Do we need to sign up for the workshops or need to pay in advance?
