Honestly, I've given up on it. I've spent the last 2 months doing everything I can to love it. When it got gripper after a few weeks, I thought it would continue improving but it didn;t. Even if they give me new brass pole pieces it wont; help becuase then I'll be back at day 1 with no grip. I'm sure some peopel will love the brass x pole, it just doesn't work with my body.

Anyway, I dont; want to derail the thread, lets keep the brass x pole discussion to the other thread. I started this thread to learn more about the PS multi piece.

Any information on the PS multi piece, good, bad, anything is welcomed. I want to hear it all.

X pole told me to use a brass cleaner to remove the oils from manufacturing if vinegar didnt; work, I used weigmans and it made it even more slippery. So don't use that either.

Chem: That's horrible.  Stories like this is why I have not ordered from PS yet. But I'm thinking what is worse? 2-4 weeks of dealing with bad customer service for a good brass pole, or great costumer service for a pole I can use but not love. I went the 2nd route already.

I perfer artsy with a bit of sexy thrown in, think Jenyne's more recent stuff, or Natasha's older stuff. I can still appreciate Oona's display of strength though. I mean, who wouldn't!

Veena: I've been on the brass x pole almost every day since I got it and I had one of the first ones in Canada. So since July. If you have been following the x pole brass thread, you can read my experience.  No amount of time will change the composition of the brass or hte finish of the pole.

Any: As long as I get a good solid brass pole that feel like brass at the end of the day, I'll put up with expending the energy. I

    Thanks for the reply.

Has anyone used them on stucco ceiling?

Also for people who  have their poles, is it worth the bad customer service? After my disappointment with x pole's brass grip, I really want a good portable brass pole but I'm hearing so many bad things about PS poles that I'm not usre if it's worth it.

Also, I think at the 2-3 weeks point when I talked to x pole, I was so happy I can even stick to it at all(compared to not at all when new) that I was happier with it than I shoudl have been. At that point I really thought that if I worked on it, it will get more and more brass like. It didn't.

I talked to Kimara as well abotu the finish of the pole. I am one of the people in her letter. The grip did improve and I chose not to exchange my pole for a chrome ( i get to practice on chrome at the studio already), but I wouldn't go as far to say I'm "thrilled" with it. Infact, I also think it's not 100% brass.

It does get stickier with use, much stickier. But it never feels like brass, it's a different type of sticky. It requires a lot of warming up, even in summer and once it gets sticky, it's very sticky on my body and legs  but slippy on my hands. On other brass poles, I never have hand grip issues. But on this pole, I have to use tite grip. If anything it feels a bit like stainless steel combined with brass…does that make sense to anyone.

I'm actually planning on replacing it with a PS one piece when I finally own a home (aiming 1-2 years). I was going to sell it, but I'm beginnign to think not many peopel would want it after seeing the response from other polers as well as from myself.

    Thanks Veena!

I love that it's a whole routine and I don't need to get up and put on a bunch of different videos. You should definitely do more of these.

Alesha, did your 45MM brass start out grippy form the get go? Mine x pert is very slippy on hands and legs and I can't do anything on it.  Does it get grippier later?

The brass stage was okay yesterday at the pole jam as it was hot out in the sun. But it still felt a lot slippier than the brass star stage there. The grip was completely different as did the way teh metal looked. Same with the brass xpert at home, much more slippier than my TG. Nothign like the brass poles I've danced on before.

Does anyone else here think the brass x poles feel different from all the other brass poles they have tried? I've tried the brass poles at several aradia studios as well as brass platinum stages and I love them all. But so far I'm disappointed in my brass x poles, espeically since I've been super excited and bought both a stage and an x pert. I really really want to love it.

For people to own a brass X pole, does it get better with age? Does it ever get like other brass poles?

I got my new brass xpert and x stage today and I'm having the same problem!

Unlike the all the other brass poles I've tried, this one is very slippery. I've wiped it down with alcohol but it's still slips. I hope it gets better and more similar to the othe rbass poles with use. I'm worried about the brass stage beign too slippery to use until it is borken in.

I was really lookign forward to today since I usually love the way brass feels.

When I first told my mom I was learning to pole dance he automatically assumed chinese pole. Before it was a circus act, martial artist used poles to build nimbleness and strength. I can't give a good source for that info though, just hear say and things they show in chinese historical movies.

I just starting with silks as well!

I found the trick is to flex the wrapped foot and put your weight on that side. It took me a few tries to get it secure.

One thing for sure though, the straddle invert is 10x easier without a bulky pole in my side!

I had a bangle when I was a child that had to be broken off when I out grew it. It's a part of a Chinese culture..a bit outdated though. Have you thought of wearing a jade pendant instead?

I honestly do not think you should pole dance with a permanent bangle. Especially a round jade one.  I use my wrists and forearm against the pole quite often.  Witht he round bump there, your wirst and hands are not int eh same position. It can get int eh way. Also, you might crack your bangle which would be a shame.

Tell him you really really appreciate his thoughtfulness. But show him a few of the 100s of videos of cheap pole falling down or scratching people at the joints on youtube. The show him how sturdy an x pole is.  He shoudl understand.

I can taste bile coming up while watching that. This topic gets me really frustruated.

During one of the Ontario pole jams I met a woman who brought her daughter, she was maybe 10-11. They were having a great time bonding over pole. It is healthy and fun. One look at this mother/daughter team and you can tell the mother is doign a grade A, stand up job at raising an intelligent, healthy and independent young individual that will benefit society.

I use the armpit a lot for the chopstix as well. But some people can do it armfree.
