I wear mine for performances or when I want long hair. I bought Euronext from Sallys Beauty supply. I also dyed them to match my current hair color. They have a tendency to get knotted up quckly but I keep a comb by just in case. I think I might need another weft to really transform me but its been working. People have actually thought the extenstions were my own hair.

They all might be a bit out of the way for you. You can also try Chic Physique as well. Theres also Facination Fitness, A Pole New You, Jordins Paradise and The P Spot.
I live near the Xpose Arundel Mills location! This area is huge in pole. Let me know when you make it to the area!

I normally use my own video camera but I have used my iPod touch and my phone before. My phone now shoots in HD so I find any excuse to test it out!
I normally just video a routine ive been working on, but ive been slacking off alot since ive had so much stuff going on. I like to add the audio track and do some editing (I went to school for it, gotta use that degree somehow!)

MemberMarch 16, 2012 at 5:57 am in reply to: Pole Studios with 20+ Poles (Whats Your Opinion?)My studio has 20 poles – 1 for the instructor and 19 for students. We dont share poles either. Ive felt held back a few times due to the class size (which ive mentioned in a post previously), but alot of us advance girls will spot each other and help each other if the instructor is working with someone else. I dont know how my instructor does it, I would much rather have less than 10 so I can get some personal time on learning the moves.

Thanks Chem!
I looked at them and most of them close before I would even have time to check into my hotel and head down there. Besides just looking at everywhere Id want to go Id have to rent a car b/c the bus/metro seems like it would take FOREVER to get where im going. Ill just use the gym at the hotel and get a work out in.

I guess I took it pretty hard this year since this was my 4th attempt. Besides myself there is one other girl who has competed every year and made it to the finals once. I guess after your 4th try you start to think there is something wrong with you and you wonder how many times its gonna take for you to just give up and realize that your not gonna win.
Besides Ive got bigger things coming my way the next few months. Some of them im not allowed to tell so you will have to just wait and see.

MemberMarch 8, 2012 at 6:18 am in reply to: Adam Jay photoshoot.. solo or share? I’m stuck!Adam Jay is probably one of the best photographers to work with. I havent worked with him but I have seen his work and were FB friends and follow each other on Twitter. My friends said hes really cool to work with and really understands pole dancers and posing. He will make you have fun doing it. He seems so cool! The pics he did of Lou Landers are amazing!!
Most shoots ive done, you only get a 15min time slot. But they werent pole shoots either. In 15min I got about 100 pics done. But its very fast in that 15min. With the 2hrs you can relax and not feel like you have to get the move right the first time so you can get the pic.

awww thank you Bambi! I really appreciate that!

I didnt win :(. I was really bummed about it and down right hurt over it. I also had personal issues attached on why I didnt win which made me feel even worse. Ive decided I wont be competing in that competition again. I started to see my style and what they like to see dont really mesh. But I really did like what I brought to the comp. I liked my music and really got lost in it. I had alot of fun actually costuming this year than I have in years past, I actually put alot of work and effort in to making them. I usually dont put alot of work towards it b/c its only 5pts of your total score.
I had alot on my plate the past 6-8mos and so training was left to the gym and going over routines in my head over and over. Which made practicing really hard. My pole cave is now gone and im waiting on Platinum Stages to send me my pole and celing adapter so I can try to practice more at home. My husband and I came up with a game plan right now its to lose weight first then learn new pole stuff. He thinks that if I lose the weight first getting new moves wont be as hard than it is with all the extra weight. My thinking is that if I keep learning new stuff eventually my body will learn it and the weight will come off. Im gonna take his advice since he is the one with the excercise physiology (sp??) degree.
Ive decided that the next time I compete I want to work with someone on my choreography and seeing what it looks like. Honestly, I havent even seen my performances yet. I just put them on You Tube and let them be.

The Urban Decay Eye shadow primer – that is the shiz!!! I use it on my eyebrows before I pencil them in to give them a long lasting effect. I use the Anastasia Eyebrow pencil, its $21 but it lasted for almost a year (would of lasted longer if I didnt wash it). I love my Smashbox mascara, I got it at a steal for $10 at Ulta (LOVE that place, next to Sephora). The past few years ive really been investing in better quality make up. I sold Mary kay for a few years and was ready to try new brands.
For performance I got a sample set from a company that specializes in Cheer and Dance makeup called BA Star. I set in for a sample based on my colors of my costume and I love them! I got a glitter eye pallete, 2 jars of glitter (based on my color choices) and the glue for the glitter. They even sell glitter mascara!!!

MemberFebruary 28, 2012 at 5:30 pm in reply to: Most common injuries and does the pole make you look too muscular?Like alot of people said alot of injuries can be prevented with learning proper alignment and how to treat yourself off the pole. I just get alot of general soreness after a workout. Epsom Salt bath do wonders! The worst was tendonitis, I still have some fears doing anything split grip since thats what triggered it.
As for your scoliosis, a friend of mine had back sugery a year ago. She had metal rods put in her back. She was cleared for working out about 6 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago we competed against each other and she won! Need I say any more.

Windows has Windows Movie Maker and Mac has iMovie. Your computer should have one of them. I use iMovie to make all my stuff. But like someone else said you dont have to edit the videos to post them on here.

MemberFebruary 19, 2012 at 2:24 pm in reply to: How has pole dancing changed your life?Ive ridden a long roller coaster when it comes to pole. Ive lost weight, got pregnant, gained it all back, lost it all and gained a poriton back and fighting to keep it off.
Pole has become therapy for me. Its my happy place, its where I cant be judged, go wild and crazy and can be myself for a moment. Last year I was diagnosed with PCOS which was a hard diagnosis to handle at first. I promised myself I would not let it take over my life and I was gonna live my life to the fullest and kick PCOS's butt! There are days where its harder than usual, I really havent felt like myself in the past year but im trying to turn it around. Thats where pole comes in, it makes me forget about the stuff that comes with PCOS (anxiety, depression, odd weight gain) and that I can just have fun and not worry about it.
Its also brought press about me and my pole skills. Seeing those positive comments make me happy so see. Some of them I start tearing up while reading them. I now have a brand ive created, a sponsored contract and lots of tv things that are coming up for me. I wouldnt have these things if it wasnt for pole and You Tube.

I was bummed at first that they used my maiden name and not my current last name. But the producers told me they fixed that over the weekend. I loved how the voice over said something about me struggling to put on my shoes! Dude you try putting on 7inch heels with a buckle like that. Then they zoomed in on a friend of mine saying that I compete against girls that size, well technically I do but shes my friend! But I understood its all for tv.

🙂 it put a smile on my face!

I was using acetone on my chrome one. That worked really well for me. When I was at the Xpose Annapolis location, they had the itac2 pole cleaner. I really liked that stuff, im thinking about ordering some of it for my pole.
At my home studio we use windex.

My sister has lost about 70lbs just from running. She hasnt incorporated weights yet but thats her next step. My sister played softball her entire life, she would lose 30-50lbs every season (she played in the spring, summer and fall. Shes competed at the Softball World Series and has met Jennie Finch) and during the summer put some of it back on. She would tell you the reason she would knock the ball out of the park (ive wittnessed it a few times) so she didnt have to run all the way. She would run to 1st and be wiped out. Once she starts doing some weight training (she was part of the power lift club in HS), the rest of her weight will drop off. Now shes running 2miles with out a problem!
The running was only for a cardio thing – I normally do about 10-15min on 2-3 different machines. But doing C25K was the first thing ive done where ive done 30min of straight cardio.
Right now im just walking a little faster on a high incline – I never knew how many calories you can burn just by doing that. I also try and take walks at lunch too. Both dealerships I work for are right next to each other so its about a 1/4mil as a full lap. Some days a group of us do 2 laps.
Today my knee feels AWESOME!! I actually started to bend it yesterday when I was on the couch. Ive been trying to ice and rest as soon as I get home and ice some more after my kids go to bed. I even iced it this morning when I woke up at 2a for no reason. Im even brace free for 2days.
