Well, its over and I lost again. I tried not to look too shook up over it but it just plain sucks. This was my 3rd time entering and I didnt advance to the finals. Im facing the same condundrum I did last year, if everyone likes my routines – they why didnt I win? (for those who dont know, its based on judges scoring – not by the crowd) I show my husband one of the routines I lost too, he said 'you lost to that? yours was much better.' After some crying, screaming, throwing things and eating some Chipotle, im over it now. Im debating on going for it in 2012, Ive got time to think about that 🙂

so my pet/street name would be…Chelsea Illinois. Sorry sounds more like a porn star name to me! LOL
Lulu is just easy. My first name, everyone has a hard time pronouncing and writing it. I cant tell you how many times its been all types of messed up, one of the many reasons I go by Lulu or just Lu. But Ive really thought about this and Lulu sounds so sweet and innocent and then its perform time and WHAM! Im not what they expected! LOVE it!

MemberFebruary 17, 2011 at 6:23 am in reply to: Pole aliases/Stage-names/Alter-Egos???I have a performing name for a very simple reason. My first name people look at it and get really confused. My name is LuAyne (pronounced Lu-anne), the Y throws everyone off. I always say my mom just had to make me the special one! When I competed in my first competition my bff made t shirts that said Team Lulu. Lulu eventually stuck and became my performing name. I love it since it sounds very sweet and innocent and then I get on stage and BAM!! im nothing what they think!

Hey, welcome to SV!
Im in MD and you will see alot of us in this area on here. And were always down for a pole jam!
When you are able to take classes in DC, I reccomend Pole Pressure! I know the owner and she used to teach me when she was in MD. All the staff is awesome ! If you can next week is the Ms Tri-State Competition. Its at The District in Adams Morgan. Great way to meet some local polers and check out the talent.

MemberFebruary 13, 2011 at 9:31 am in reply to: International Pole Convention 2011, West Palm BeachI took Amber Rays workshop. Hers was fun, it was 2 to a pole and we did doubles routines. She had the most fun warm up ive ever had in a pole class. It was very cardio and high energy. It was my first time on an xstage, chrome and spin mode. I had a blast eventhough there were some moves I couldnt do. I think the best part of the class was the next day Stacy of Xpole saw me and said I was really talented since she saw me in the class.
I agree about the speakers, workshops and battle were coicide with my workshop. I really wanted to enter the BK Spins and Tricks Battle but I had my workshop at that time. Personally I think that was an awesome idea along with the Showcase of the Stars. I kept thinking 'omg I am seeing Felix perform LIVE!!' Prana was my fav, along with Amber Ray, they suit my style.
Overall I had a great time, met Veeners and some of my Xpose gals. The best highlight of the night was my friend Donna had the 'Save a Tree, Climb a pole' shirt. Jenyne loved it so Donna got a Pole Con shirt so she could give her shirt to Jenyne!
I was in a great mood when I left, I was inspired and motivated. Actually thats where my Battle of the Pole Studios idea was born. I was sitting watching group performances and BAM idea hit!

This thread reminded me to order some samples. Im almost low on dry hands but I like the way Itac feels. I also have a few postcards around the house with Karol and Alethea on them as a friendly reminder to order Itac.
I still remember the day I tried out itac. I used it on my inner thighs, I went to wrap my legs around and I COULDNT MOVE! I was locked in, I was not going anywhere. I was in love!

MemberFebruary 10, 2011 at 7:30 am in reply to: APFA donation turned away by charitable, called “stripper money”I agree with ThePoleDancers final paragraph. Thats what got me thinking about the whole thing. I dont know about APFA but when I ran my Battle event, I contacted the possible recipents first. That way they can check my website and credentials I provided incase they did not like the idea. Once they approved, I could have thier logo and I used it on everything for press reasons – flyers, website, promos for the event. In return, they used my logo and event info on thier site.
I dont know the whole story so I cant make a whole hearted comment about the situation. But who knows where the hole in the story lies (if there is one). While I say its sad to see an organization turn down a donation of any kind. Breast Cancer hits home for me as well (my grandmother was a BC survivor before her death in 2006, yesterday was the 5yr anniversary of her death) and I want every woman to be able to get all the help that they can find for this.

I have extra love on my legs as well. Over time, you will find your sweet spot on your legs. I got a nasty bruise on the back of my thigh from doing CAR after CAR (I think I did like 5 of them).
Be proud of them – its hard work paying off!

Esteem! I know the girls from Esteem, great girls! 2 of them are competing for Ms Tri-State on the 26th.

I was a 46e, I am now a 40d. I love Bad Kitty's Pole fit spider back bra. Its keeps the girls in and its so comfy! The only issue I had was the O ring that holds the straps is plastic and it busted on me Tuesday night. I contacted Trisha right away and shes sending me a new one ASAP!
I have one from Nike that I bought that is my other go to sports bra. First off its pink and its got a bikini style tie along with the thick straps so it holds me up! I normally wear 2 sports bra when I pole as well. Under Armor is another good one to check out. I dont know if theres an outlet besides MD (MD based company, started out with sponsoring the UMD Terps and its escalated from there), but you can get a decent deal on them. They also carry up to a XXL. They also make 'sport panites' but we all know them as pole shorts!

MemberFebruary 8, 2011 at 12:05 pm in reply to: so…does anyone else think their xpert chrome-finish feel slippery? How long are you warming up with your pole before you start pratcing? I noticed that with my pole as well. since mines in the laundry room, I turn on the dryer for 20min and warm up while the dryer is running. Ill stretch, climb up and down a few times etc. Then were ready to roll!

Chem, I had the spell check problem when I use Google Chrome at home. So your not alone on that one. I guess that means I need to practice my spelling a bit better, LOL

MemberFebruary 8, 2011 at 9:26 am in reply to: International Pole Convention 2011, West Palm BeachIm debating. Last years winning factor was that is wasnt too far away from where I lived so I only paid for the pass and workshop. Now since its in FL I would have to fly and stay for the weekend. After the fiasco my husband I had last year about me staying all weekend, I dont want it to happen again.
Pole Convention was EPIC! I had so much fun and met alot of Veeners and polers, learned alot about the pole business and meet some of my pole idols.
