https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/bc9a8ce2-d89d-11df-ab19-12313b090e12 – your totally right about it being a sore spot.  I joined Mary Kay in 2006, and I got so much crap for it all the way up until I was done in 2010.  Im now more of a yes, hubby kind of wife.  Avoid confrontation as much as possible.

I want to have a teacher cert under my belt but the only time you can do one around here is done by that studio- so id have to be hired.  I want to do climb and spin but its alot of money to put up.  I do want to do Angels cert as well.  I think she provides alot of great info that sometimes doesnt get talked about.

Ive dont want to give into the urgency.  I have alot going on in my life so I cant really put thinking about it on my top list.  Between the earthquake and hurricane, the thought has been put off.

I think for me im ready for a new change.  I like the job of have due to the people I work with. Im already in line for a promotion (im just waiting for the other person to quit/get fired which ever comes first) and we are opening and new dealer next door to us and I will be doing accounting for both dealers.  Im just tired of the same routine (up at 4a, work by 6a, off at 3p to get the kids, help with homework, clean, cook, take oldest to cheer, in bed by 11-12p and repeat 5 days a week).  Im also ready for a new challenge as well.

Yes, im talking about the OM Xpose.  I just was trying to be very generic about it since I dont want to give out details that arent meant to get out, KWIM?

We (as in the clients – they offered us the opportunity first before they really sell it) were informed due to the owners personal reasons she has to leave.  We all know that can be a broad amount of things.

I would have to quit my current job to run the studio ( there all classes from 10a to 7p Mon-Fri and 9a to 3p on Sat).  I would also commit to being there for at least a year – that I can totally understand.  They want some one there for the long haul.  If this fails, im SOL big time.  I dont think I could get my current job back (im a title clerk for a car dealer) but I could find another dealer to work with. That is the scariest part of making this decision.

I didnt ask for all the monthly numbers, I just wanted to get some initial info before I really started asking for more and looking for $ to fund it.  I have NONE of that money they are asking for. I can put my car up for collateral for the loan but thats it.  This is a franchised studio and they are willing to waive the transfer fee to sweeten the deal to the potential buyer.

Im not really to make a quick decision, Im still weighing out all my options.  I actually talked to a good friend of mine who owns a franchised tanning salon (funny thing is we were both born on the same day) and asked her what its like for her.   She brought up a good point, sometimes she does misses on alot of things b/c she has to work late since folks wont show/call out etc and shes very lucky she has a support system to help her out.  She brought up some very good points.  I think if im going to run and operate my own studio, I want more control on what I get to do.  There arent  alot of guest workshops, fun group outings and other things I would want to do with a studio.  So I may just pass on this for now.  I should just focus on my pole stuff and my personal accomplishments before I bring a full business into it.

Im Minicoopergrl on Skype.  Im usually on Wed nights while im in the pole cave.  Im also on when I get home too but im not poling or anything – mostly chasing after my kids lol.

The chat room would be the best idea if you want to do a big jam b/c in order to do that with Skype you have to have the group calling feature. I think theres a fee that comes with the group calling though.

I try to be relaxed when I meet them b/c I dont want to mouth diarehea when I talk to them.   Everyone is very laid back and more than happy to sign something for your or take a photo.  I remember asking Felix to sign my shoe and she was all about it.

On the reverse side, when people meet me for the first time I get super excited!  I try to keep myself contained so I dont look like a crazy person.  I also make sure I thank them for watching my vids and finding me.  I do try to make sure I spend time with people and give them anything I can give them – pole advice, hugs, chat etc.  Its one of the things ive learned from selling Mary Kay for so long.

As a client, I dont see much of that.  Where I go we have 4 locations but they dont want work with anyone else but themselves.  I think we should all work together, were all here for the same reasons – to get fit and find our inner sexy.

I also go to a studio once a week to take lessons and pole at home.  What I do is make a list of the moves we learned in class and then work on them at home.  That way I have a game plan.  I also do some strength training to help with the moves.  It makes me feel more accomplished if I have a plan.

Youd have to call around and see if someone has an Xstage.  If not contact X Pole, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Ive been renting mine from Jessalynn since shes local and has them for pole convention. She keeps my credit card number on file and I have to sign a waiver owning up to any damage that could happen.

I have the brazil shorts and the spider back top from Bad Kitty.  I could sleep in it if I could. I accidentally ordered my shorts in a L instead of a XL.  I only have to pull them up from time to time but I have a jiggly belly to begin with.  I am very chesty as well (40d) and the top fits nicely.  I want to try the new top since it looks like its got more coverage.

As for everything else, I buy sport panties – you can get them pretty much anywhere.  Ive gotten a few pairs from Walmart, under armor stores.  I also have a few pairs suggested by Chemmie from Target. Those work nicely as well.  You can also try sports stores – since its coming up on Volleyball season, your sure to find a plethora of shorts.  I need to buy new sports bras since I need support and mine have a habit of playing Peek a boo with a boob when I go inverted.  My fav sports bra is from Nike.  Its got the regular bra straps (no adjustors) and its got string like a bikini top to tie around the back, that gives me some extra support as well.

if the local studio offers drop in, id say do both.  That way you can make it a win win.  After all the rave reviews of Veenas lessons, im tempted to get them myself.  I do pole at home once a week and sometimes I feel like im not sure what I should work on.

going to class will get that socialization that youd want.    I go to class once a week, not only for the hands on but for the social aspect too.  I dont get out much to begin with so thats the only time I get to fully interact with people.

@KittyCat86  Xpole says to use a broom and push the joint.  I had both joints stuck and it wasnt a big deal when poling it was the breaking down part that was going to be PITA!  I used a broom and it was working but not that well.  I used an extra x joint I had.  That worked much better.  The joint from a to b was hard as hell.  We physically took it apart from the base to get the joint out since A pole is attached to the bottom.  so now my husband and I know how the xpole works from the inside out!

@Raquelle – have you called Xpole yet?   They may offer some advice or suggest getting the release tools.

Im 250 as well and I didnt have a single issue being on an Xstage.  They are sturdy as anything to dance on.  The diameter is the same for both reg and the lite – you can order pieces to make your orgin xstage to an xstage lite!   Like everyone said you will experience some wiggle but its totally normal.

Im gonna keep up with this thread. Ive been interested in extensions for a LONG time.  A good friend of mine suggested it to me since I can make short hair look good during a hair flip.

I havent had long hair since the 6th grade!  I have very thick and full hair – Its always shedding and a PITA to deal with in the summer.   I also have 2 kids so its hard to maintain a style that isnt wash n go!

My hair is red now so I also want to look like Ariel as well, LOL!

May 23, 2011 at 11:54 am in reply to: Spray Tanning?

Ive been pale my WHOLE life.  Sheesh, my kids call me pasty!!!   I got sunburn so bad one year I was actually blistering on my shoulders!  Lets just say I learned my lesson real quick.   Im always putting sunscreen on when im out.   But after 26yrs of burning and going back to pasty, my body has decided to give me a tan!  Its not much and my god my legs need a better tan!

Ive done a few self-tanners at home but never got any good results.  I always end up with spots no matter how evenly I apply the product.  Ive even used the gradual lotions and I still flippin streak.   I used to use the tanning beds at the gym but I would get pink and go back to white!  I feel like I would never win when it comes to tanning!

    The products ive tried:

Nivea shave minimizer and gradual tanner – great for slowing the shave process but still streaky

Mary Kay Gradual Tanner – this stuff worked the best

Neutrogena Spray Mist – Tanned quickly but still ended up streaky!

Sally Hansen Spray Tanner – still streaky!

May 22, 2011 at 8:54 pm in reply to: Foam Roller…couple of questions

I have the Golds Gym one from Wal Mart.  From my understanding, the white one is less dense than the blue one.  The colors are to identify the density of the foam.  If you follow Alethea on FB, she has a black one with the nubbies on it.  That shit is crazy hard core.  IMO I suggest starting at a low density and working up.

I use mine at the end of the day.  I place it on my lower back and lay back.  OMG I can hear my spine popping and it feels wonderful!  Im still having issues with my outer part of my hips and hamstrings.  The foam roller is helping so far.

The KW sport pole is still the same quality as any X Pole.  The difference is only avail in Chrome and it does not spin.  From what I believe, that pole was the first pole to be a bottom loading pole too.

Guy at work tried to tell me the KS pole is better than my pole (X pole 50 in chrome) simply b/c her name was one it.  Dude has no idea what hes talking about!
