    Hmm…interesting dilemma. I think you really touched on all the facets of the issue. Well, let me offer my side of it. I'm a stripper, I entertained a bachelor party just last Saturday. We don't like getting groped by dudes, but it's a hazard of the job. More men want more groping for less money and they know they can get it because the economy is shit.

    I think it's all about the type of club and how the males in the party approach the experience. For instance, this particular bachelor party was a bunch of very polite Canadian guys. They were a little tipsy but good natured. Three strippers sat in the booth with them and we mostly talked, they offered us drinks. The best man offered me a hundred bucks to lapdance his brother. I danced and the guy was super polite and we didn't do anything risque. So they were more interested in being entertained than getting sexual with the dancers and that was fine because they were paying us.

    I'd research which strip club they plan to go to. Some strip clubs, especially Deja Vu's, have a very strict no touch policy. It's all airdancing. Whereas at my club, 90% of the girls are prostitutes so things can get very physical depending on the girl. And maybe just talk about boundaries. Do you have a problem with him just being in a strip club? Or is it only if he gets in the situation of a private dance? He needs to communicate with the other groomsman that he doesn't want a private dance. If it somehow happens, he can "refuse". By that I mean, I'd still take his money but I'd just sit there and talk with him or whatever. I haven't had that happen but I wouldn't be offended as long as I was still getting paid for my time.

    I don't know what brand of pole you have but I have a Lil Mynx Stainless Steel and that thing is sooooo slippery. I tried a whole bunch of stuff from Windex to dish soap to vinegar. But I found that coating it in wax, like rubbing a candle on it makes it far less slippery.

    I bruise awfully. But I'm incredibly fair skinned, so it shows up very easily. I've been poling for almost seven months now and if I have a serious session, I can end up looking like a battered woman the next day 😛  It doesn't particularly bother me and I get regular check-ups at the doctor, so I'm not really interested in doing all sorts of testing for some sort of coagulopathy. If I do, oh well, I've lived twenty-seven years like this. Haha!

    But certain things you eat can cause your blood to be thinner and subsequently bruise more easily. Alcohol, NSAIDS like Motrin and Aleve, garlic even. So maybe take a look at that side of things and see if you can modify anything.

    Hmm..I'm trying to think of how I do it. I usually make a fist and trap the pole in my elbow. I feel like I try and pull my fist towards my chest. The arm isn't straight on the pole, it's pulling down a bit, like DaniDuB says. I think I put a lot of pressure and force into my forearm. I have a tough time with the split grip and I think that's because your weight must be evenly distributed. In elbow grip, the forearm takes the brunt of it so to speak.

    I agree with Cara, making sure your butt is out is really important because instinctively your body will want to pull toward the pole for balance. Slowly let your legs slide down and away, until only your ankles are there. Then let go and angle the feet down. That's what some lovely ladies on the site helped me with. I had those darn legs up too high! To straight edge, I push my body away, so I have more leverage.

    ShonaLancs, I've determined the straight edge from the extended butterfly is freaking ridiculous. I think because your body is turned, it throws off your center of gravity.  I was trying to to the EB to SE before I could do the Ayesha. I failed miserably. Now I'm able to do the Ayesha and SE with elbow grip. I still cannot do EB to SE. I think it's all about the body positioning. I tend to be center with the pole for elbow grip and off center for EB. Perhaps it takes more core strength to be off center?

    I know a thing or two about it because I've gotten them before and I love to know what's going on with my body. Haha! Poledreamer is correct, I'm not there to physically examine your back so I'm simply making an educated guess as to your condition. You'll have to see your physician to get any type of diagnosis.

    But to answer your questions, no, there is minimal risk to leaving it untreated. Your body will adjust, but probably not in the way you want. You will most likely have some shifting to accomodate the subluxed rib. Your muscles will spasm and it might pull other things out of alignment. That was my issue. I had a physician adjust my back and I actually had three subluxed ribs. I also have scoliosis so my spine had shifted some and my pelvis was off too.

    I have to believe that I had the subluxed ribs for some period of time. It mostly started to bother me when I would practice my shoulder mounts because there was a lot of pressure on that area with the pole. So I think the pain will subside. Please don't be worried though! Rib subluxations are rather benign and super simple to fix. Just some pressure and they ease back into place. You could try the yoga moves and see if it works for you? But if the pain persists, please see your doc. 🙂

    Well, I'll give you my advice and you can take out of it what you like. How's that? 🙂 

    Eating a lot of protein is essential. You can build muscle without protein. I personally love to eat meat and dairy, so this isn't an issue for me. But usually what I try to do to maximize my protein intake is to eat small meals throughout the day. I'll have two eggs with some fruit for breakfast. Then maybe some nuts for a snack. Lunch is a salad with chicken breast. Then in the afternoon I'll usually have two snacks- a cup of Chobani yogurt which is 25% of your daily value of protein and then later a muscle milk light. It's only a hundered calories and is 30% of your daily value of protein. Dinner I usually have fish or a lean cut of beef with veggies and maybe a sweet potato or something. I'm not a huge fan of supplemental powders and that kind of thing. The muscle milk light is nice because it's portable and easy but our bodies utilize natural protein much better.

    In terms of weightlifting, you can maximize your muscle gain by using your fast twitch fibers rather than slow twitch fibers. Basically do reps of five with the maximum amount of weight. This stimulates your body to produce new muscle fibers and viola! More muscle.

    I think your photo is absolutely lovely. Certain people get all uppity as soon as they see a pole. You're wearing more than what a bathing suit would cover. People post pictures of themselves frolicking during Spring Break in skimpy bikinis and no one gives them crap. Ignorance or jealousy are usually the root of the issue.

    Try some Motrin or Aleve, any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication will help with pain and any swelling to the area. Don't take these if you have any bleeding disorders though. Honestly, it sounds like to me you may have a rib subluxation based on your symptoms. I get these frequently and they suck. There's really no way to fix it unless you get your back manipulated by a osteopathic physician. I've heard that certain yoga positions can coax it back into place but I've never tried it.

    If it truly is muscle pain, try the arched cat. Where you get on your hands and knees and stick your butt out, pull your spine toward the floor and get a deep stretch. Then arch up like a cat and round your back. This stretch is particularly helpful for those with back pain.

    Well, that's kind of my issue. I can do it both from the floor and aerially on a static pole with absolutely no problems. But as soon as I try it with a spinning pole, the spin seems to dislodge my armpit grip and makes me slide down. 🙁

    I can make a video but I just do it from the floor. I lift my right leg up and grasp my thigh. Then have my left hand on the pole as I lift my right leg. I take my hand off and put it on my thigh. I just feel like the rotation of the pole makes my armpit grip really unstable.

    The lovely Lyme Lyte let me try out her 45mm and I like it waaayyy better than my 50 mm. I have pretty small hands and I'm not the most flexible person so the 45 mm is a bit easier for me to work with. I think thigh grips are a slight bit more difficult because of the smaller diameter but not horribly so.

    Becca, that sounds so awful! I really dislike uneducated people who assume things. I can’t believe someone would go so far as to throw around words like ‘slut’ and ‘whore’. That’s incredibly offensive.

    Your manager has no business telling you what you can do at home. It’s disturbing that co-workers would basically join in the bullying. Honestly, I’d keep photos of this stuff. If they try and fire you, get a lawyer. I’d look for another job too. It sucks but seems like you’re in a toxic situation.
