That should say Leg Avenue Ruffle SHORTS in Red and I forgot to add the Fuzzy Black Halter Top and Shorts set to the list as well.

    That’s a lot of clothes! 😀

Seems to be common, I had the shoulder mount once and now I’m wondering if I dreamed it, lol – I know I didn’t but I only had it for about a week. My problem was likely inconsistent training though. I’ve been off the pole for about a year now (was preggo, had baby, haven’t had time to do anything) so I’m worried I may not even be able to even invert anymore! I believe consistent strength training can fix any setback though.

I forgot to mention that these days being good at what you’re doing includes more than just dancing well; you should be an advanced hooper, pole dancer, and it helps if you have some other skill toy in your set such as poi, fans, etc. It really helps if you are good enough to use the fire versions of thees toys and have good make up and costuming abilities. Circus arts have become really popular in the dance music scene so you have to stand out to get the gigs — or be REALLY attractive.

From what I’ve seen, you really just have to run into the right people and it has to be obvious you’re good at what you’re doing. It’s both who and what you know in the dance music go-go industry. I’ve also seen go-go groups post audition dates on their facebook pages, so be on the look out for that too.

Eplilators are torture devices! lol Shaving down there should NOT put you at increased risk for infections as long as you keep it clean as usual. Pheromones will still be present and effective, you don't need the hairs to hold them there (ew, kinda, lol). If you do shave there, just do it when the hair and skin are softened from the shower and of course use a sharp razor. I don't dispose of mine every time (expensive and a lot of waste to me – but to each their own) but I do make sure its clean and sharp.

BTW, Tendskin used to be pretty pricey (like 50 bucks for a bottle!) back when it was a new, hard to find item and I only purchased it once before learning it is mostly alcohol and acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin). Here's a recipe I found after a quick google search just now: http://www.thelimericklane.com/2012/03/homemade-tend-skin-recipe/

Witch hazel, tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil and aloe are also good deterrents and remedies for ingrown hairs.

In the end, its a personal decision as everyone's hair and skin has different temperaments and people have varying ideals of beauty. Personally, I can still remember the first time as a teen when I shaved the lady garden completely and it felt so niiice, smooth and breezy! There's nothing like the first time but I do enjoy the 'clean' feeling every time. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I still shower shave, although over the years my leg hairs have gotten so sparse I can go for quite some time before they get scary looking. I'm looking for a solution though too, mostly for the bikini area, which cannot take frequent shaving without my skin getting very angry. I've been considering going to get waxed but the expense is prohibitive and doing it myself is not going to happen. So shaving it is..

Just wanted to chime in and say don't feel bad Lyme, I bought an Emjoi brand epi many years ago and used it one and a half times and never touched it again, lol. It was the most painful 90 bucks I ever spent. I think its still shiny and new looking, collecting dust in a storage box somewhere.

Thanks for starting this post, it seems like I'm usually the first on the World Dance New York bandwagon around here but I haven't gotten the latest Lady Morrighan DVD because I'm expecting and won't be doing too much new/fun exercise for another few months.

I've been really curious about the Stripper Dance release because I have her other three exotic dance DVDs and wondered if she really expands and adds new floorwork and if the routines were good. I have danced at clubs before so I'm really hoping she has something I can use when/if I go back to work. Private Dancer was definitely the best of the first three and if you say these latest two offerings are your favs then I'll likely not be disappointed.

Oh, and as far as the original poster's article masquerading as science, that's just laughable at best and dangerous at worst. Rely on real evidence from published science and medical journals.

When it comes to cancer, every case is going to be different. What works for one person may well have no effect for the next. This includes both chemo/western medicine and alternative remedies. The key, as previously stated is to have all of the hard facts that you can get. Not everything out there has been tested and researched properly and not all doctors are 100% correct about prognosis and treatment. As a serious student of medical herbalism (NOT homeopathy, they are not the same), I will say that most treatments of the alternative nature are far too little and too late to knock out an advanced cancer of any type. However, there is no need for exclusion in treatment, you can have both intensive alternative treatment (that has some scientific backing) AND modern medicine. There is research out that that strongly suggests that both is better than either one on their own.

descalzada, that sounds like a "Golden List" to me! If there is anyway you could copy and share said list, that would probably make a lot of polers out there pretty giddy (me included)! I know so many of us struggle with floorwork ideas and creativity…although, I understand if your teacher wants to keep her trade secrets too, but I sure hope she's willing to share!

That is really clever and original, thanks for sharing! This just might be what I need to pick me up out of my pole rut!

Wings can be found very inexpensively on eBay; do a search for isis wings and there are several sellers that have a variety of colors for under $20. 🙂

I figured you might worry about puckering or buckling but it was never an issue for any of the leotards. She sold them, they never looked homemade and as someone with a professional seamstress and tailoring education, she was a perfectionist about those types of things. I would imagine over-stretching would certainly cause this problem however, but as you said each pattern has it's own nuances and your milage may vary.
