One thing that worked for me when I was having trouble.
All of what the other awesome polers said.. in addition.. don't think of going up into a V.. think of going up sort of "through" it. (Which probably makes no sense).. When I was having trouble I would end up pulling short and not following thru into a full V. I would stop at either almost there or not even that far. When I learned how to think/do about pulling up/through into a V that ended with me looking naturally at either the floor or low on a back wall, it was more flowing.

Are these available for 15' poles?

I LOVE all the comments/posts.. (I was clicking like on all of them, but my hand got tired… so consider ALL of them like/LOVED by me )
As my own worst critic (I say things in my head to/about myself that I would never say to anyone) soooooo
1) I love my eyes, my eyelashes even without Latisse are long. With it.. people ask if they are real.
2) I love my boobs
3) I love my long legs
4) I love when my muscles are visibly defined (by pole)
this is harder. I have been doing pole off and on since April 07. And when people compliment me.. I still say "thank you, there are moves I should do better." totally downplaying the things I have learned from my amazing friends and teachers.
1) I love that I have the strength to do difficult moves and make them look easy
2) I love that my friends and family on the pole team help me with pep talks when I can't do something that they can do effortlessly. which encourages me to keep trying. Superman is my nemesis. I can do it sometimes.. The other day I did it twice in a row. Easily =]
3) I love that even on the days that I feel lazy.. it's still more then people who never try.
4)I love that I can do (as a loooooong hold. things that other people do as a spin or have trouble holding)
extra bonus.. I love popping out a move on street signs ;-} best one to date was in full motorcycle gear including the helmet and doing a chopper on a street sign };-}

That's exactly the type of thing I'm looking for. =]
Yay they do exist!! $200 is a bit pricy…. but if I can't find similar for a bit less.. it's still cheaper then concussions or broken bones.
Thank you for your magical interwebs searching https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

As it is now (from the ones I'm looking at online) the hose parts are usually 6 feet or so long. The "fix" would be to be on the ladder holding the machine for the upper part, then do the lower parts of the poles, then wiping the pole down immediately. I was hoping there was a way to extend the hose so a person could be on the floor spraying/steaming, then climb up on the ladder to wipe that puppy down 😉

I go here =] http://www.sumara-pole.com
They do have a requirement that people need to take an intro to pole class tho, so it may not work with your schedule.
-
I take classes at Sumara Pole with Serena =] We would love to have you come out and take classes with us. The curriculum has changed enough that an intro class would be a good idea.
When I first started taking classes I lived in Vista (Love Boutique used to have poles and offer classes.) I moved and found the studio I'm at now. I have a pole at home as well as a stage pole that I can….in theory, bring to other locations. (I also recently bought a hoop without knowing anything other then that it was fun when I was a kid…so why not??)
Looking forward to maybe having pole and hoop play dates with you =]

I entered one of mine the other day =] (Marie L )
Thank you for the fun opportunity.

I got my brass pole in November of '07. Had it outside until July of last year and used this to clean it. (manufacturer recommended) It never made it slippery…was actually grabbier right after I cleaned it with this =]

Pole Sinsations has a location up in Vista now also. They have classes at the Deja Vu Love Boutique store on the 78.
Their Beginner/Intro classes are very good for beginners. They have a strong focus on spins and floor work.
