Well the power position can be debated. If this is in an economic context and the dancing is being done at a strip club…where doea the power really lie? And yes, pole dancing can be taken in many many directions. I dont think any of tem arr bad. Im sorry if i came off as judgemental. I dont think they were doing anything dirty at all! You should see some of the moves i do in my classes 😉 Sometimes I have a hard time verbalizing what I mean…I guess what bothered me was the message that was sent when both women were objectified.  One is a hologram and the other has  her mouth covered and her unrealistically  long legs make her seem as if she were a futuristic fembot alien. If u notice both dancers have no expression at all on their faces, pretty much inhuman.  we have to have a sense of awareness as to how we’re portrayed because young boys and girls are watching these videos all over the world and its shaping their reality as we speak. Media Corporations are well aware of what theyre doing.  Mysogyny and sexism are everywhere and theyre their for a reason…and the consequences are quite sad.  I love pole dancing for the very reason that it puts my sexuality back into my hands….
I’ve been thinking about these thins a lot lately… I would love to hear your thoughts…How do u guys feel about women being objectified?

my problem with these videos is with how the dancers are portrayed. Both videos are obviously focused on the males pleasure and that is where I find myself conflicted.  

I believe this is a female empowerement movement where women can reclaim their sexuality. I'm so tired of all the scenarios where women are objectified for their sexuality! This makes me feel like the recent rise in pole dancings popularity could go in the wrong direction if were not more direct about focusing the attention on where the true intent really lies…. on the womans strength, her pleasure, and her own decision to dance and provoke…her innate power. If we don't, I guess were all still stuck being some plastic emotionless barbie in a mans world with our only purpose being to give them pleasure…and you could kill me now.

I'm ready to see some videos with pole dancers where the woman is in a position of power and enjoying her sensuality/sexuality including all the emotions that go with it. I want to see a woman embrace all of the struggles and challenges of life and WIN using pole dancing as a way to affirm her strength and grace and vulnerabilty….

Mainstream Media…..ughhhhhh!
