BOBBI’S!!!!
I’m obsessed with her videos, I love her choreography! I’ve posted a couple routines of hers I’ve learned in my videos…..I am SO not a natural dancer and completley had NO idea what to do around the pole if I wasn’t doing a trick so I have really loved just being able to attempt to mimic her and her fabulous instructors. Her videos are available for purchase on her website – search Bobbi’s Pole Studio. If you email her and are are especially nice she may send you some DVD’s of just routines that are meant for her instructors. I use them like aerobic videos! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I ordered it and did it for the first time today – I didn’t get all the way through, but so far I’m impressed. I have to say she’s got some wicked camel toe : https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif but she is SO adorable and easy to listen to, and I think she really knows what she’s talking about. Maybe it’s because I haven’t made it all the way through the workout yet (I may be missing her genius) but so far my only critique is that she dosen’t hold the stretches for longer, there are many I’ve never done before and they feel sooooooooo good, I want to stay in them for much longer than she prompts you to.
I’m buying some ankle weights tomorrow! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif To Jenn for posting this!

I hear there’s a studio in San Antonio called Soft Sensual Moves, a Vertical Dance studio in Dallas, and here in Austin there’s Brass Ovaries – which ROCKS! They are hosting Pantera this week for the second time!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

oh wow, I loved this!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif We are SO a naked family, our kids are really little (almost 4 and 2) so they have naked time often – especially in the hot summer! We live way out in the country with no houses in viewing distance so I’m often pretty naked myself running around with them outside. My husband and I have always had ‘family baths’ since they were newborns and totally slept with them in bed during their early months……and now that they’re a little bigger it’s family showers. Like a lot of the moms in the video said I definitely think there’s an age expiration date on it, my husband is definitely getting more conscious of being naked around our daughter now that she’s getting to be a little girl, but overall we are really open and encouraging about sexuality – especially me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheese.gif
As far as the pole – I am SO impressed with my daughter’s skills https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif – she has got some really spretty spins and she incorporates moves from her ballet and tap class into her pole dancing. Her favorite song to dance to is Mandy Moore’s ”Candy’ and she has the CUTEST intro…….she stands next to pole with her arms and legs stretched out and holds the beat saying ‘angel, angel, angel, angel’, and then starts into her spin. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I have great video and am dying to share but I’m afraid PCS would be after me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I wish I could get my 5 bucks back. MAYBE for someone brand-new to pole dancing the spin part may be somewhat informative, but yikes- the inversion instruction was very lacking in pretty much every way https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Someone is totally going to get hurt.
I don’t like to say negative things about people….. But … https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
somebody else really should have gotten that gig. Somebody like VEENA.

Great post FoxyRei! I have major issues with sweaty hands, plus my hands are small so I have a hard time with grip in general….I’ve used climber’s chalk and rubbing alcohol and neither really helped that much….I really like itac2

MemberJuly 20, 2009 at 12:48 am in reply to: New to poledancing… any tips to build up strenght ?^^^ ITA, Veena’s lessons are great – I often do just reps of pull-ups on each side and front & back using different hand grips, and I also did alot of practicing head stands and handstands against a wall before I tried learning to invert to get used to being upside down and holding my own body weight.

omg WOW! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif thanks for posting!

Cute Sissy! LOL, that first link Veena posted is me – jumping on a pole at a dance club – it was outside and not a real dance pole, part of the building structure but it looked good to me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
I totally have to fight to keep my almost 4-year old daughter off every pole we see……. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

Awesome site – thanks for posting! I love to sew my own clothes, though I’ve never done something as involved as a corset so I have no advice – but best of luck, your ideas for dancewear sound so cute!

THANK YOU for this post https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I will definitely be searching Amazon for these, I need them!

LOL Sascha – what a sweet daddy you have https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I take:
– regular multi-vitamin (even though I heard they only take care of basic stuff and the rest you pee out),
– L-lysine (it is a type of collagen that your body can’t produce naturally so your skin is younger looking, great for strong nails and hair), and
– flaxseed oil or oil pills (you need lots of healthy fats and flaxseed offers both Omega 3 & 6 which are great for skin, your organs… and I have even read that good cold-compressed flaxseed oil is good for the brain and memory). Those are my basic three but sometimes I get Selenium (it is supposed to be a great anti-oxidant), Milk Thistle, Evening Rose, and a few others.
Thank you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif I really should probably be taking flaxseed…..

Welcome Ashley! Love your bruise map https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Happy to see another Texas girl here…I’m in Austin – where are you? Do you take classes at a studio or self-teach at home? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
-
^^^ What kind of vitamins do you take Sascha? I am always on and off the bandwagon with those….I usually stick to basics like prenatals or a multivitamin…..would love to hear if there’s something you take that you feel really makes a difference. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Lily – good call on the arnica! I use the same cream, as well as little arnica tablets that dissolve under the tongue. I have found they work miracles and I can wear shorts now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
I also love to soak in a hot bath of epsom salts – that always makes my muscles soften and relax. So good before bedtime! I drink lots of water and firmly believe that you are what you eat. That being said, I will look like a pizza tomorrow.
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I will look like a pinot grigio grape tomorrow https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
An epsom salt bath is such a good idea – I have a steam shower that I like to stretch in after working out too.
ITA on the the agua! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif
