I throw pole/chair striptease parties as well. Mobster style hats, glasses, boas and mens oversized shirts are always fun.

With the chair striptease portion, I have a handout of the routine so that if the person wants to take it home to try on their sig other, they have a guide to practice from. I've had good feedback and response with that.

I have a question for those that do parties, do you do an 8 count when you are teaching the routine? I do this when I am teaching a pole fitness class, but I'm trying to decide if counting it out  loud during a party makes it more fitness then party.

Yes, when when opening a biz things great crazy and you forget… I feel that they are genuinely interested in you, with good reason. You communicated well, you have great talent and don't want to risk yourself at a dingy nasty club. They are showing respect to you by not making you go there. I say, go in, chat, see how you feel once you actually meet them in person and see the studio itself. It could be a great opportunity! If you still have the vibe this isn't the gig for you, at least you tried everything. Good luck Glitter

Great Thread! I was just going to start researching this myself so when I have "Demo" classes I can talk about it. Thanks!

My boyfriend pointed out that my new Bond Pleaser shoes have a bottle opener on the gun (heel).
I’ve never used them so I can’t tell you how well they work, but I could see that being a really cool surprise if a person worked at a club or bar.

It was a blast! I wanted to say THANK YOU to Veena and Webbie for doing ALL they did for US! It was an unforgetable weekend that left me in tears when I realized it was over https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking.gif
There is only a certain group of people that you can feel totally comfortable pulling out a pair of booty shorts at Ruby Tuesdays that say I Love Pole Dancing and pass them around, being well aware that everyone else is staring at us! lol
The poles at Sneaky Petes are stainless steel and shoved into these like irrigation tube spindals- like those things you see at construction sites. One pole felt like it would snap out of the base! I think they were so slick because they were soooooo scratched up, if that makes sense. Cuz at the top of the poles, where they weren’t scratched they were still grippy.
Joel rocked the place and got a lot of questions after he performed on the pole. One guy specifically could NOT BELIEVE that Joel wasn’t our "Group’s Leader". https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yes, I’ve taken Bikram yoga and hot vinyasa yoga. I would go more often, but to leave a building that is 105 degrees to go straight to working outside in 5 degrees…. I often lose the ambition to go!
BUT I would love to get there more frequently, any yoga is great for poling. Flexibility, coordination, balance, centering and calming the mind.
If you ever hear any yogi saying they don’t like hot yoga, its often because they believe you should create your own internal heat in your practice. I say if you like the hot yoga, do it, and do it as often as you can for the greatest results. I just met a lady that does it 5 times a week for the last 7 years!
They also say to go 5 times before you decide that you do or don’t like it, and keep the practices within a couple weeks.
Give it more time, I think you will get hooked from the sounds of it, esp once you see the results.
    Have fun!

I posted earlier on this thread, but to answer the question about x pole cutting the pole down….

They don’t do this, or didn’t a year ago when I got mine. I bought 2 extra top pieces since I travel a lot with mine for pole exhibitions. I had my boyfriend cut them down to make the pole at an 8′ overall height, 9′ overall height, and the 10′ overall that it comes standard as.
If a person had the tools (not exactly sure what) you can cut them yourself. I’ve also heard you could bring it to some places, think mechanic or metal shop places, that could cut it for you.

I haven’t had anything break on mine, but I do agree that the zippers should be a heavier grade. Also the material for the suitcases has worn through and I plan on getting all the corners reinforced in a purple at some point.

The base can be slick until you get used to it. I buy really cheap black sandpaper-like things that attach to the bottom of my pleaser boots when using the stage. My pleaser shoes, though, are grippy enough for it. I don’t have any problems being barefoot on it with slipping.

    1) About 10 minutes up and down once you’ve done it a few times.
    2) I have a 50mm and 45mm poles along with the stage. I like beging able to do all trix on both sizes of poles
    3) There is still room for floor work, more then if you were to have a square stage. And you can "play with" getting on and off the stage too.
I say go for it, then you can bring it anywhere, including outside in the summer. I love my stage.

omg, thats too weird. I was working on moves that didn’t require leg grip last nite, cuz I had thigh high sox on, I couldn’t get a shoulder mount either!!! I was just talking about that this morning. I am blaming it on the fact that I was snow plowing all all night and my body was fatigued…. But now hearing that moves are disappearing all over, I’m a little concerned https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

If you can afford to have both, I definately would. I have a 50mm X Chrome, 45mm X Chrome, and 2" PS. I do’t minding having all different ones so I can decide which to put in my studio, when I open one. Also, when I teach lessons I have them try out the dif material and sizes to see which they prefer, esp if they are looking to buy one. When I am learning a new move, I try to start by working on the stainless PS, the slippery-er grip and bigger poles means more then likely nailing that move there will make any other pole seem easier.
