I have both of the LiveOnce dvd . Does anyone know how many people Elizabeth is going to allow to sign up for the pole jam? My folks live nearby and I’ve been to her studio before so I might just have to come back to visit but won’t know until next month if I could come.
The pole jams are unlimited. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif We usually have 20-30 girls and guys sharing 10 poles. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif We would all get physically exhausted poling for 3 hours straight so we break to eat, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_chef.gif chat and get to know other polers from all over ontario. But there is plenty of opportunity on the pole. So just show up that day if you can make it with the $20.00 studio fee and munchie/fingerfood for our potluck table. I do have vaulted ceilings in my living room, but I already have a pole in there. I never need a ladder to take it down, but if I got silks too, I would always need to bring in a ladder. Maybe I will get a rig even though my pool takes up the whole backyard and I don’t know exacltly where I’d put it. I’ll figure out something…I always do!
I originally had another silk in my exercise room that was 8-9 feet and I had a pole in the middle too. I used my pole to climb up and take down the rigging so I can pole . I wanted it originally on my 17 feet setup but my husband thought it wouldn’t look good. But now that its up, it just looks like a curtain decoration when its draped up. i would love an outdoor setup too . The portable kind cost 2300 to 3000 plus ++++++ shipping to canada. Too much for me.

The set up is easy for my husband to remove from the balcony of our second floor. He leans over on top of a chair to reach it. But ease of taking off and on depends on your accessibility to the height of your ceiling. There are 18 foot folding ladders out there for sale.

can one of your wonderful lucky ladies who has circus equipment post a picture of what the rigging looks like in your ceiling. I want a hoop or silks, but already have a pole and I am not sure how the ceiling would look if I add another hardware piece up there! Any pics would be great. Is is easy to remove the silks/hoops/ect?
Here you go cbr600girl, My husband just rigged my 17 foot silk last weekend. He took 2 hours up at the attic nailing extra wood as support across the beams. Then, he put a 8 inch long screw thru the house ceiling and double bolted it thru a thick wood. I purchased two rated caribiners and rated swivel from a rock climbing store. It needs to be rated for the shock weight absorption I was told. My rigging is rated for 10000 lbs drop. I don’t know how it works but i was told that a person who weights 102 lbs like me needs 2000 to 3000 lb rating. I am still waiting for a rated rescue 8 that I ordered to wrap the silk on. then the rescue 8 on to 1 calibiner to swivel to 2nd calibiner to the ceiling screw bolt. Right now , I have the silk on the 1st caribiner. But I am planning to remove the swivel as it makes the silk spin to much similar to a spinning pole. And i am limited to 4 feet clearance towards the door side but lots of space inward and to the sides of the silk .The silk school I go to doesn’t have swivels. Hope this helps.
