OMG, WHERE to begin!!! I remember…

going to an introductory class and thinking "yeah, right!" and having the deer caught in headlights look with every new move to attempt!

the superman took forever and MUCH pain…

aerial invert was a move for all the other polers (still need to improve it), but it’s getting there…

beginning the caterpillar and caterpillar climb were like, what the heck!…

the shoulder mount was no where near my pole-to-do list, now I’m in beginning baby steps and am on my way to getting it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Maybe next year I can say I remember when handstand was no where on my list (just have a MENTAL block)

EDIT: My pole hubby says "I remember when she used to wear her wedding ring"
Sorry, thought of another one…I remember when I said "I could NEVER post a video of me poling!!!" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

List can go on and on, so thankful for all of the veeners, you have all made my pole journey fun and exciting. I am amazed at how our pole community is so supportive, encouraging, friendly, funny (glitterhips!) etc, etc.

THANK YOU V, FOR THIS SITE!!! AND WEBMASTER https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

I posted in the forum under Sell/Trade. I am selling a Lil Mynx; HOWEVER, it’s not a spinny pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I wish it was cuz all I’m asking for it is shipping cost to whoever would like it. Just wanted to let you know in case you would like to consider it. The shipping only is to find a good home for it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif and a Merry Christmas to anyone who is looking for a pole.

Just want to chime in on the small size body https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif (I deal with blood pressure cuff too) I am also very thin, but have developed strength I never thought I would. I have always worked out with some form of aerobics, very good power flex class for years, etc. However, when started poling it was as if I’d never done anything. It’s different dealing with lifting own body weight. It comes with time, strengthening and learning new moves in baby steps. And each new trick or hold starts over with building strength, for me anyway. I use a lot of veena’s strength training, it works wonders, as well as her lessons! Poling also takes patience, which can be as difficult as learning new moves. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

For YEARS I struggled with fatigue and anemia, come to find out it was caused by B12 deficiency. I have to get the shots which up until couple months ago were given by doctor’s office. Now have to give myself, but again HUBBY to the resuce. Poor guy was SO nervous first time even though doctor showed us how. Other stuff doesn’t work for me since body doesn’t absorb it, other than injections. I hope you feel better soon.

I’m so sorry about your ribs. When I first started I pulled a muscle in my rib cage, thought I’d fractured it due to the PAIN, but it wasn’t. I had to stop poling for couple of months cuz it was so bad. I was able to get back and pick up where I left off. I had just started inverting and it came back. You’ll jump right back in. The excitement and enjoyment of poling sure helps when you look forward to it!

I went from stainless steel to TG. I’m glad I replaced the ss but still wonder if I should have gone with chrome. I do have much better practices and accomplishments on the TG and body doesn’t get as "tore up" as when I first got it. What I really wonder is 50mm vs 45mm for me. My husband would roll his eyes https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif if I brought up 45mm ( He had me order my 50mm TG for birthday). Since I’ve never practiced on one, I don’t know difference. I definitely will stick with my TG cuz don’t want to go backwards if chrome is as slippery as ss for me. It’s funny how we are all different and finishes work differently for everyone, as well as grip aids.

I can’t give input regarding this specific pole, however, I can comment on stainless steel from my experience. It is considered, and was, very slippery for me. I did have mine for over two years, then finally replaced in few months ago and glad I did. I went from ss to xpert titanium gold. It’s much grippier and harder on body (for me anway) but it’s better than dealing with ss. This is my experience, could be different for others.

hookedonpole- I got the Pole Physics lotion myself to try. I plan to do more "testing" this weekend. So far I like it better than my reg lotion but I’m trying it different ways to see how effective it is on the pole.

Thanks, please let me know how it works for you. What climate are you in and what kind of pole? I use xpert TG right now.

hooked– what do you mean by "the whole pole"? how tall? because i practice on 12′ and there is no way i can get the whole pole in the shot unless i shoot from very very far away. let me know how tall your pole is and i’ll test the range of the camera this weekend. and yes, it takes a standard tripod mount.

amy, my ceiling ht is 8’10" -8’12" after tension pushes down into carpet. Does this info help? I’d like to be able to have view of bottom of pole to top. I either record chopping bottom of pole or top of my head.

amy, I’m still trying to find a recording camera for my little practices. You mentioned trying your camera to see how far you have to be to get almost whole pole. Here is the height in this post.

November 27, 2010 at 5:17 pm in reply to: Pole Set Up on Carpet

Thank you all for your responses. I don’t have a choice but to keep pole up and deal with "pole hole" in the carpet if it ever comes down for any reason. Pole has been down for 3 days and I think carpet is slowly coming up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif We got Berber which is not plush and on stiff side, so might take longer. Haven’t tried any of the suggestions cuz pole is going right back up.

Now I wish I’d gone the extra step and had laminate wood flooring laid in center of room where pole is and carpet around it. Even if pole came down, I’d still have a place to workout with weights, exercise mat, etc.

We had our original wood floors refinished over a year ago, but the two side rooms are converted garage and hubby wanted carpet in them. It looks nice and I knew pole was going in there, so pole or no pole?…POLE!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

There’s an upside to having old things, but also nice to have new, clean floor/carpet. Our livingroom is the only other room pole could go in; however, it’s tinyier than spare room and ceilings are not as high. So, there, decision made https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
