I also love poleskivvies Butterfly shorts. I have 3 pair of the original Tail Spin shorts, they are nice; however I love the Butterfly. Also have her Gemini bra and just ordered another one.
I wish I could wear Mika yoga shorts, I love the styles. I just don't have enough butt and thighs to fill them in. A style was also too short for me since I don't shave "down there". TMI, I know. I would get some if I could.
Also, would like to try the side tie or others from sweetvixencouture, @JeHanne, let me how you like them when you get them.

Julie, just want to encourage you to do a challenge. I was scared to death to post my first vid, and still freak out. I don't do challenges often, but am glad when I brave one. Veneers are so encouraging and supportive. Go for it 🙂

Thanks for letting us know the good news. You've been on my mind and I've been checking and/or waiting for post on your original thread to hear that he's getting better. Happy Birthday to him and "happy dance!"

I don't know how involved he is with you and pole. When I got my first pole (Lil Mynx ss $250) three years ago, I was not familiar with the pole community and what was available. Once I got more involved and learned more, I realized I needed to make a change with a pole. It was hard, but I showed him info about poles, different finishes, etc. He surprised me last year and gave me $$ for 50mm xpole xpert titan gold and loves that I have it. So maybe showing BF info about why you would like a different pole. Now I'm talking to hubby about a 45mm xpert tit gold LOL, but think I'm pushing it 🙂
BACE, love your quote!

I recently bought a used xpole (original model) and we could not get apart either. My husband struggled A LOT. He finally got so frustrated he hit one of the rods with a hammer with some force and it gave. But he doesn't want to do it that way again, so I ordered the heavy duty tool. Haven't used it yet, but he's thrilled. I've read others who got the tool and love it. I was just surprised at how much the shipping cost is.

I know some tricks have different names, however, have you seen or done the Superman Fall? I've only practiced it in slow motion. Too chicken to really go for it, but it's fun. I haven't heard of some of the ones you mentioned, so maybe one of them is the Superman Fall.

First, I finished reading to make sure you didn't hurt yourself, then chuckled at the description of what you did to unwrap your hair. Yup, too bad you didn't get it on video. But glad you didn't get hurt while is was wrapping around. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I started few years ago on a Lil Mynx stainless steel, even though I struggled with slippery pole, I used it till I had to move on due to learning more. I also went back and forth to what finish, etc. I got a 50mm xpert titanium gold and love it, especially in comparison to ss. I've had it since Sept 2010 and always wondered about a 45mm. I ended up getting a used 45mm chrome xpole couple of weeks ago. I'm bummed because June is a busy month and haven't had time to start practicing on it to see how chrome will work for me, as well 45mm. It was such a great price, it was worth it to get even if it doesn't work out for me. I wish I had the space to put up both poles to use for different things!!
As others have mentioned, everyone is different. I've even heard of people who like stainless steel. Good luck, many of us have been or are still in your shoes as far as making decision.

I also didn't realize I hold my breath on. On a practice video I posted for help, veena commented with tips and one of them was "don't forget to breathe" Now I TRY to pay attention to make sure I'm breathing, I even make loud noises when I breathe in/out so I'll know 🙂 With all the little details to learn something, I guess breathing is important https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

Sorry to hear they are still trying to figure it out. I don't know what your financial situation, etc. is. Have you considered a naturo-path doctor? That's what mine is called where I live. Insurance doesn't usually cover that kind of "doctor." I was very ill years ago, body shutting down, etc. in and out of hospital/doctor offices…a friend told me about a natural path doctor and I was skeptical. I finally went and he helped me physically so much. They are non-traditional, of course, but his way of "testing" discovered my pituitary (sp) gland was out of whack and not what docs were trying to treat me for. I know there are some quacks out there, but I found a good one. Just a thought.
However, my thoughts and concern are with you and your husband.

So glad you are okay, thanks for letting us know and reminder for preparation. Everytime I hear about tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. I think of our veneers and wonder if anyone is in the area. Be safe! 🙂
-
This must have been difficult for you to share; however, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know other veneers will come along side you in spirit.
I would love to say everything will be okay, but I hated it when people told me that when I was going through physical problems years ago, what I needed was love, support and comfort for the emotions I was going through. So even though the desire of my heart is that everything turns out okay, what I am sending is love, support and comfort to you and your husband.

BTW…HAPPY BIRTDAY SV!!!

webmaster, when it refers to every new lesson subscription purchased this month, does that mean May since today is May 31? Or is it June in your time zone? Please let me know, I believe my annual lesson subscription ends in June?
Thanks!

I don't have an answer, but wish you the best and hope everything goes well with insurance, the procedure, etc. Hugs…

@sensual, yup, think that's it. They emailed and said same thing. Looked to me like it was something new. Do you or anyone on this topic have the previous model with the threads instead of xjoints, and have any input.

spinnycake, too bad all levels are together. It is hard watching more int/adv polers. However, even when I was in a class with all same level, each of us still accomplished at different levels, each of us had different strengths.
My experience when beginning things like carousel, cradle, etc., everything was "baby steps." I didn't have strength to go into spins at once. Like you said, being able to go up and touch toes together and back down. That's how I started as strength developed each time. The cradle was lift up feet one at a time and back down, till being able to hold for few more seconds, then tuck up and hold, etc. It took time, but it comes.
As I begin to learn something new, everything starts baby steps till strength develops to hold longer, release legs when it's time, etc. Patience is important to not get hurt, I also learned that the hard way! 🙂 I think you will love veena's lessons and begin to accomplish, she breaks things down wonderfully. Congrats on your new pole!

OMG, horsecrazy, you will see a huge difference between lil mynx ss and titanium grip. I switched a year ago (after using lil mynx for 2 years) and that's when I began to accomplish more. In fact it was so different, my body got "beat up" at first till I got used to it. Can't wait for you to get yours! Will you be getting a 45 or 50? I have a 50 and am hoping for a 45 in the future.

I know the feeling…people think because I'm on the "thin" side I don't have issues, but I'm 55 yrs old and have the menopausal stomach pooch most of the time. I also am a stiff person and it shows when poling, and constantly wiping my hands on my butt, even if it's not sweaty (bad habit now). Slouching is also something I need to work on.
And when I got a better digital camera for recording practices, it's clearer than my old one and shows more of my face AGH! I told my husband, now I really look like in my 50's!! 🙂
Oh, and what really drives me nuts is I don't have "poling hair!" I always look like I have an ugly mop on my head!!
Thanks for sharing and giving us the opportunity to be open with each other 🙂

Hi, welcome! This site is the best.

Thanks for this, I am sucking air after a semi-decent continous practice or routine. I also tend to hold my breathe and am working on it. I wish I had more time to do good cardio and other workouts to compliment poling, but just don't have the time. I usually practice by myself, wonder if bringing out the girls will distract me hahahaha

Totally understand the goal of "street" poling. My story: May 11-13 last week hubby and I spent at Disneyland/Calif Adv in Anaheim, CA. From the planning, my goal was to street pole. During the walk between hotel and the park every day I could not find anything decent. While at Disneyland/CA Adv I looked and looked, would go to pole, post, etc feeling for size/grip, etc. My husband asked "If you find one, what are you going to do?" I didn't know LOL
Finally, while in line for the Submarine ride, there were umbrella poles with the chains to mark the lines to the ride. They were perfect grip. Now I had to decide if I could get away with a basic something, there were a lot of people and staff was very big on safety; throughout the park we'd see children being told to stop climbing rails, rocks, etc.
After passing 3 umbrella poles I told my husband to walk slowly in the line so I could get to the pole and he'd have some space to take the picture. I took a chance on being told "Hey, get off that pole!" The people behind him had looks like why isn't he moving up! But I pulled up and he took the picture! I got to the pole but only felt comforable doing a pole hold.
Even though I'd hoped to do something somewhere, NEVER thought it'd actually be at Disneyland. Even though it was a basic pole hold, I remember when I couldn't even do that! And that it was at Disneyland, even better!! I posted the picture here on sv 🙂
You'll get one soon!

Welcome and as you can already see, you have found a great group of people here!! First of all, regarding your comment "I'm currently not working" umm-yes you are! When I was a stay at home mom, my response was "I don't work 'outside the home'." At the same time, I have great respect for moms who work outside the home also, it takes a lot to do that.
Also praying that the doctors are able to help your daughter and her mom/dad as well through her needs and improvement.
Youtube was a big help in learning pole at home, however, I really took off when I was able to get veena's lessons. Don't know if you are able to get them, but if not, you will still find great support. When you post videos and would like feedback, everyone is so helpful, especially our dear veena.
Thanks to your hubby and you for military service; also to SharkyHill and other military families!

Yay, how exciting!
