Tigger!!! What did you end up doing? Were you able to get a pole back up? I hope so! Miss you 🙂

I definitely understand wanting a pole buddy. I’ve tried for one also. I have a friend, but we live little over an hour away from each other, so getting together is difficult. When we did get together, either at her place or mine, we had a blast and worked on stuff together. I miss it.

Welcome back! So sorry for your loss. I started pole at almost 50, just turned 67. Age is just a number 🙂. You can do it, have fun with it. It’s a great workout, as I’m sure you know. ❤️

  • I doubt the crap stigma towards pole will ever end 🙁 That being said, I’ll speak about how I feel. I won’t stop poling, posting, etc. based on what others say or feel. I want to have fun and enjoy my pole journey. I’m hard enough on myself about my weak areas of pole, I don’t need or want crap from others for whatever reason. SO thankful for this site!!!!! So my point is, I don’t want to waste my time posting on sites or a social media platform that will be used by others to bash me, even if it’s their insecurity. And if I did post and discovered the hate and bashing is there, I’d have to decide if it’s worth it to keep posting, and if so, ignore and not let it get to me. If it’s not worth it and I have other platforms to enjoy sharing and posting, I’d stop posting on that bashing platform. Again, just my perspective, especially at 65 yrs young! Ain’t got time for that shit…(oops, is it okay to say that V?) I’m glad you felt comfortable to vent here. My opinion is shared in love and encouragement.

I waited too long to order and by the time I was going to get the SV Little Mynx, it wasn’t being sold anymore. 🙁

Don’t beat yourself up. I did something like that with an xpole. My first pole was Lil Mynx static, but the stainless finish was driving me nuts. I sold it cheap and bought an xpole titanium gold 50mm. Then the 45mm came out, so I sold my 50mm and bought a 45 in chrome. I was so mad at myself that I didn’t stick with titanium gold! Within months bought a 45mm tit gold and sold the 45 chrome again dirt cheap. It happens. You’ll end up with what you want. 🥰.The financial journey was a pain, but worth it to get what I wanted. Because of bday and Christmas gifts, I now have my xpole 45mm titanium gold with the new xlock feature. This is all over a span of the almost 15 yrs I started pole.

My first pole was stainless steel. Then I got xpole titanium gold finish. After a while, I bought a chrome pole and within months sold it and went back to titanium gold. I still have slippery days with sweaty hands and body in the summer humid days, but I love it. I never thought I would use spin mode, but after MANY years was glad I got static/spin because now I love spin pole. I also finally bought the new xpole pro with the xlock feature and love it. Good luck and welcome to pole and Studioveena!

Good luck selling your mat. Also, don’t let your age get in the way. You look great and are doing awesome. I started at around 50, am 65 now and still having a blast poling and learning. It’s the longest I’ve stayed with a workout. This site is the best!

When I first started years ago I was taking various work out classes and weight training. Pole is so different and I looked and felt like I’d never been off of the cough lol. I don’t remember how long it took me to invert, but I remember I had to start from the bottom up when learning how to do basic pole hold, etc to hold my body. You are at a great place for instruction on how to build up and learn to invert, etc. I was taught incorrectly at a local studio and pulled a muscle in my rib cage so bad I thought I fractured a rib.

You will notice strength getting better with each new exercise, move, hold, progression step/level. Welcome to pole and to StudioVeena.com!

I have xlock pole. I have to put a little bit of umph to switch. I do mean a little bit as an adult, there’s a little technique to lift, turn and let drop into position. It is done quickly now that I am used to it. Maybe your toddler won’t actually know how you are doing it in order to figure it out. But, again, there’s a technique.

I am so glad that you found this site. Veena and her lessons are the best. Like she said, get added to her FB group for live lessons and a chat class to go over it for help, tips, etc. I get the hassle of not being able to hear well with background music going. Can’t wait to see your pole journey! Welcome 🙂

I understand the difficulty of being a home poler. I don’t go to a studio as often as I like, so also pole at home. Hopefully, someone who is just starting will connect with you to follow and support each other. And you don’t suck 🙂 You are in the beginning of your own pole journey. If you haven’t heard already, the key is don’t compare yourself to others, even if they started around the same time as you. Everyone progresses differently for different reasons. Every time you practice, strength will come. There is great support here on SV, so posting videos to share you journey is helpful. I encourage you to follow Veena’s method of progression, it really helped me. No matter your level, we are all here to support each other. Welcome to SV and to pole!
