I am trying to do the superman, emphesis on TRYING! My teacher said to kinda start off doing a really low gemini. So what I was doing, was really getting quite low to the floor with bent knees, then taking my leg up to the gemini position. This way, when I am attempting to get into the superman I am not that far from the floor. I can get myself to the extending my legs bit, i just CANNOT bring myself to flip over. I suffer from sweaty hands, and this move makes me wayyyy too nervous. so I can feel my top hand has NO grip, so i just dont want to flip over cos i now my top hand wont stay on. lol.

    Good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

January 29, 2010 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Why do you pole dance?

I started, because the bar I work in has a pole. And my manager who did pole dancing started to teach me. She then just vanished and left the bar. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif But I had to carry on poling… I loved it. So… I looked for classes and ordered myself a pole!

I have never been a confident person, I would never usually go to a class or anything without a friend by my side! But I did, and I love it. I love the feeling of finally nailing a move that you’ve been working on for so long! I love the fact that you can just dance round your pole, or make it a work out.

I have NEVER been into fitness, but pole dancing is amazing and i have always loves to dance!! (Mainly just drunken dancing tho, lol) Also, I’ve never been very toned, but doing this, is really making my body a lot more toned and healthier. I have nearly been pole dancing the same length of time that I have not been smoking for. So… getting rid of one habit… replacing it with a much more fun and healthier one! Also, its the same length i’ve been single for! And I LOVE it!!!

It makes me feel like such a confident person, specially at work… I feel like no one could bring me down! I do hope I am still poling by the time I am 80!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

it was http://www.mad4shoes.com, but i also noticed, the seller must have a few sites, because http://www.topbrandzone.co.uk has the exact same address as the contact details. So i really would not recommend using these sites.

I was really drawn to the price of the shoes. I bought these ones.

    http://www.mad4shoes.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=107_108_158&products_id=2805

I spent ages hunting down different sites, and different prices. I think, if i remember rightly, I went with this site because of the price. But… obviously wasn’t a great idea! But, I got them in the end, and everything is sorted! Just dying for a pair of boots!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I am really bad for internet buying. I always do it, don’t think id have anywhere round here where I could buy them from a shop! I wish I lived in London! lol. Although, i wouldn’t have any money left then! x

yeah, i bought a pair from what i thought was an official pleaser uk site. Bought them, and the status of my order never changed from ‘processing’ so tried e-mailing and ringing the seller and i got no response! But the money had come out my account.

It had been about 3 weeks so was abit worried, luckily i paid thru paypal, so contacted them. And they said if the seller hadnt got back to them in 10 days I would get a refund. So i thought ok… I will buy a pair from Amazon as i knew they were a well known website site, and i thought if the other seller hadn’t got back to me after nearly a month, they wouldnt get back to paypal. So on the 10th day, i get an e-mail from paypal saying that the other seller has got in contact and sent the shoes!! eek!! So now I had two pair of pleaser shoes on there way to me! (The same type of shoe too! lol)

They both arrived, and I felt bad, cause even though amazon were the better seller, and quicker to arrive I had to return their pair, cos i knew the other seller would have been a nightmare trying to get a refund!

So, I am just abit scared where to order from now, cos I dont think amazon do all of the pleaser range! And i dont want to be conned! lol

just thought i’d add about the teeth issue… because my tongue stud has knackered my teeth. but this is actually more due to the fact that i drink wwwaaayyyy too much coke and suffer from acid erosion. so if you already have weak teeth, it’s probably not a good idea. my teeth is one of the things i dislike most about myself, and i do think my tongue stud didnt help this. but… yet.. i still keep it in. I know i am crazy. They are not majorly bad, (never had a filling! yey) just a few chipped teeth, but as said before… i reckon this would have happened anyway. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    hey,

I had mine done about 5 years ago (still have it in). Yes, my tongue did swell https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif i couldn’t talk properly or eat very much for about a week. However, I do know of people that said they had it done without people noticing. Think it all depends how your body reacts to injury! hehe.

I also reckon it hurts less than having my ears done!

Maybe just pull a sickie from work for a week after you have it done. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

aww thank you. when i watch it now some dance moves i do make me cringe! and i didnt even do it that long ago!

And i am sure there must be a way of combing market research and pole dancing! I think every job should involve pole dancing. Would be so much fun going to work. hehe. x

i think i am going to treat myself to veena’s lessons! They do sound great. The pole at my work is good, tall and on a stage and luckily not as slippy as mine own one at home. I do think poling has become my life, and this website! I love everything about it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif And Sasha’s Pole I feel your pain being without a pole. I tired going 2 weeks after an injured elbow trying to not pole and it drove my crazy! At least we have each other here to keep us sane. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Loopie Lou, the bar is in a town called Macclesfield (it is not a great night out) in a club called Repent. It is knew and not very well known. But i love messing around in there when i work. So if you ever did happen to pass by that way. hehehe.

i re-posted the same video with the original music I had one when I was practising. And the video was fine. Just it doesn’t sound great as I have edited the video and cut bits out so obviously the music has been cut out too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I will try again with my next video with added on music. I just don’t want people to have to go through listening to dodgey music! hehe. Bloody Technology, eh! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I had the same problem… so started searching the forums to see if it had happened to anyone else. The first video I uploaded was fine. The second did the same problem you were having. The difference in video’s is that the first, it has the original music that i had on when i was actually pole dancing. whereas the second video I added a different soundtrack to the original I had on when dancing. This is the only difference, but not quite sure why it does it.

If you found out how to fix it, could you let me know! hehe. Sorry couldn’t be much more help. x

Thank you so much for the replies! I shall make sure i rest it. In the mean time this site can keep me sane from not going on the pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Thank you for the video too! Is a really good idea! x
