I know how you feel. I too have hyperhidrosis.
Was it Driclor the roll on you used overnight?
http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100000855.html
This product worked for me, it did take quite awhile of using it every night before i saw the results.I still have issues with my hands sweating, so i have to wipe the pole constantly and use alot of dry hands (i sweat through it very quickly)
For me, i find my chrome pole best.
My mum has a titanium matte silver and although it feels grippier to touch, i find it gets slick when my hands sweat, i feel more secure on my chrome pole. -
I I completely understand! My hands sweat so much.
I use the product dry hands, but I still sweat through it after about 2 moves.
I’ve been poling just over 6 months now, and have noticed that the stronger I have gotten, I am able to link a little bit more together, but no way can I do a dance or anything. It definitely sucks.I can’t do a routine because of it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
I do hope that as time goes on it will get better.I’ve also used gloves sometimes, but then my fingers sweat more and it’s just as bad.

Sweaty hands is a huge issue for me. Its worse on mums titanium pole as it gets slick when i sweat. For some reason i find my chrome one better.
It gets me down because it means i cant dance or freestyle with out stopping between every move. This is why my videos are always edited.
While dry hands works ok, i have to keep reapplying after every few moves because i just sweat it off https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
I also have mild hyperhidrosis.
I always use driclor solution under my arms. I recently read you can use it on your hands and feet also.
Im thinking i might try it on my hands and feet.
See if that improves things. -
Just keep working on it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
When i first started, i couldnt get my legs crossed either.
I couldnt climb or sit for quite a while. Practice practice practice and you will get it!

This is the only issue ive had with mine too.
Luckily my dad rescued it and used a piece of wood (like a broom handle) got them unstuck and fixed it up for me.
He said i needed to really tighten those two hex screws to stop it from happening again.
He tightened them up really tight and i havent had an issue since.
For me my pole went like this from doing the side spin and not tightening those hex screws enough. -
I practice on both!
I always work on my inverts on static until i know how to do them, then ill try them on spinny.I dont think either is easier. They just require different techniques.

The only bad thing about the current video system, isnt really the video itself, its how you have to scroll through the bottom line of videos, and when u click on a video, u then have to re scroll through them all to get to where you were up to.. if that makes sense.. -
I agree with everyone. I have been doing this on and off for like a year now and I have made very slow progress. There are some girls here that can do so much more than me in their first year, but I have to tell myself that they aren’t me and my body is different. I will be strong and ready when I am strong and ready. It’s perfectly fine to progress at your body’s rate and what is comfortable for you. Oh and like everyone is saying, this also helps avoid injuries https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Have a shiny penny day!So very true.
Some of us have started pole dancing overweight, with no background in anything (me!)
Then there are some who are already fit, already dancers, already have lots of strength… etc
We all start from different places.

Thanks!! -
Most likely your browser is caching the upload for some reason. You can verify this by trying a different web browser or clearing the cache on your browser.
Ok, ill give this a try.
Thanks webmaster https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -
You wont regret it when you buy the lessons!
They are brilliant!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -
The good thing about Veenas method is that it caters to all sizes and level of fitness.
In my beginner class, we have also been taught the front hook spin, which i would not have been able to do had i not started veenas lessons before my pole classes, as i would have been too weak.
The beginner class im taking kind of expects you to already have a bit of strength i think. -
LOL,
Ive seen this one. I actually watched it before i started pole dancing when i was planning for my wedding.
It makes me laugh more now that i am actually pole dancing.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
hehe. -
Thanks for the pictures!!
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gifI think im understanding what my problem is at the moment.
When i try to point my toes, im literally trying to point just my toes.
Its more of a whole foot thing. I need to turn my ankle down and relax my toes a bit more so they dont curl.Something i thought would be so simple is actually not that easy.
(Well at least for me!) -
That was very helpful. Thanks so much!
It made me feel a lot better. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gifI will work on what you suggested.
You are right about it being kind of a safety type of thing. Quite often im that worried about my hands sweating to much and giving way that im not even thinking about my feet.
Pole dancing takes me out of my comfort zone 100%. Even just the few moves im doing! -
I dont have any advice, as im only a beginner.
I just wanted to say that i really enjoyed watching this video.
You are very strong. -

MemberJune 20, 2010 at 6:11 am in reply to: Is it slick hands or do I need to improve my grip?I too have the same issue. Mighty grip, can make the grip better, but my hands still get a bit sweaty so the pole is slippery. Half way through a spin, ill all of a sudden get slippery and slide really fast in a spin.
I have heard dry hands will make this better, so im getting some next week. Ill post back when i try it.
In the mean time, i have to wipe the pole and hands between every use. I also wipe vodka on my hands to help dry them out, that works really well, but my hands still start to sweat again after a couple of moves. -
Hey, hannahpc…I WISH my pole was just in another room. I would be like you and run back and forth… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif …but my computer is in our main home and the pole is waaaaaay far away at our little lake cabin (no computer access). By the time I ran to it and back to the computer it would take over two hours… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif …I’m still thinking about subscribing, though, hoping I can remember what Veena does. Another issue is that we only go to the lake on the weekends so I have little time to practice and get better. But at least I have a pole I can work/play on once a week and at least I have this great site with all the wonderful videos to watch and learn from. Now if Veena would put out a dvd (hint, hint) I could have the best of both worlds. You guys are SO GREAT to watch. My first goal is to get good enough to post a "beginner’s" video so I can get some helpful feedback. Y’all have fun poling and keep those vids coming…they help us new girls a lot!… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
Aww, that does make it a bit harder. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
