I'm asking for this for my birthday this month hahahah my boyfriend is obsessed with booty claps so I am sure he will buy it for me!!!! Yessssssssssssssss thanks for doing this girls!!!! Really want to make a trip down there to see you girls 🙂

It took me about 2 months of stretching 4 times a week please don't beat me up!!! I use a combination of Veena stretches, alethea stretches, and a few of my own. But my hip flexors are freakishly loose and when I lead my students through the stretch where you bring your knee to your chest I feel nothing. But to be honest if I didn't compete and see how valuable flexibility is for comps I wouldn't have worked to get them. I am not able to do them that well cold though unless I've stretched within a few hours. However after 5 beers at our employee christmas party I was doing the splits on the floor in the middle of the bar https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

A girl I competed with at Midwest (Dangerous) wore a white sweet vixen romper and she looked gorgeous in it so I'm sure the shorts are cute !

I know hookedonpole was looking for someone but she had a room booked already, but you can still try her, she's very sweet! I am not sure if I can go yet as I do makeup and that is prime wedding season!

I have a tote that X-Pole gave me for competing but it's not on their website so I can't link to it. It just has their logo and some silhouettes of polers on it but it's black so it matches my wardrobe since that's all I wear!!! I could stand for it to be a bit bigger (it's the size of one of those reusable shopping bags) but it helps me cut down on the crap I carry around so it's probably a good thing.

MemberFebruary 1, 2012 at 2:27 pm in reply to: My competition routine – please critiqueOk, I will tell you (and everyone) the NUMBER ONE thing for competition routines. I feel like this is one of the most important things to remember besides pointing your toes.
DO NOT do any move you cannot do perfectly, in your sleep, backwards, while you are knitting a sweater and cooking dinner for your family. I have heard so many pros and choreographers say this and it's so true. People would rather see a beginner move done perfectly, beautifully and effortlessly than a harder one done not as well. However, that being said I think you did great but I will also agree with whoever said it had a bit too many tricks. That is funny to me because I actually came in third in a competition where I could have placed higher but my routine didn't have enough tricks, the judges told me later! We had the exact opposite problem 🙂 But I thought you did amazing and I give major respect to anyone who competes, I only did a regional pole comp but the whole experience was way harder than I thought, but rewarding. What I said about about the difficulty level is probably the explanation 99% of the time when people ask "Why did the less advanced girl not win?!" It's really good you are asking for constructive criticism I should do the same with mine! In my eyes you are a winner just for competing 🙂

I have a lot of tips for fake eyelash application, I will write a blog about it for ya'll when I get some time!!!

I always want to do drops but I feel like I can't relax my body enough! They are so awesome though and I am super impressed by the girls that can do them. I wanted to do one when I competed but had never done one so i didn't want to try to rush to learn one in a short time. I will have to look into some tutorials and get going on it

I have to disagree pole dancers look better skinny and that statement actually offends me a little because I can do more advanced tricks than many of the thin girls I know, but I am not skinny, the curvy girls can do harder moves too.
I used to belly dance and taught group classes for two years. A lot of people have said they can see belly dance in my dance style sometimes so I think it would help you move for sure and help with your body awareness. And it's really fun too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Search for krylon UV palette. You can use the pink as a lip color and wear the other shades on your lids blended with regular shadow in the crease?
-
Oops I just re-read your post and those lashes might not fit your needs but you can probably find pink ones online or buy blonde ones and paint them pink or whatever color with the Krylon paints.

Yep both my wrists hurt when I work split grips so definitely follow Veena's tips! I also use these velcro wrist wraps that help me a lot when I work my split grip moves, they help keep my wrist supported and from getting wrenched the wrong direction when I dismount which I tend to do if I am not paying attention and ouchhh. Hope you feel better soon!

You know we got your back and I think this is AWESOME. Break a heel, girlfriend!!!!!!!!

I see she has been contacted on Facebook about this so hopefully she pops back on here. I remember seeing her videos when I first started 4 years ago she is so graceful. There have been many people that have come and gone here that I think of often and I think of Caramel_Dlite often as well. I have met many Veeners in person after talking with them through here including Andrea, SaschaPoles, StaceyAnne28, Poledancefan, Poledanceromance, Litlbit, Fuzzynavel, Veena, Webmaster, Layla Duvay, Charley, Beccagirl,PoledancingKat, Sissybuns, Roxypink, Jungle_Cat, Kobajo, Fleur, and I'm sure I'm missing a few too!!

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 8:31 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side Demo….wow. Just wow. Are you a freaking child?! Really?! You are obviously jealous of Veena because only jealous little children act like this. And if you think Webby is fat you would think I am fat too. So impressed by your original and mature choice of words.
Little C I am busy looking up "slicking" ! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

MemberDecember 29, 2011 at 11:53 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?I was also interviewed on this and can guarantee you there were/are no “kick backs” happening. You need to start being careful what you are saying about this site before it becomes slanderous. Webmaster would have every right to close it if it becomes so.

MemberDecember 29, 2011 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?Veena originally used to use a PS pole that you can see in her early videos. They are still on Youtube if you would like to look at them for yourself. She didn't start her affiliation on here with X-Pole until much later. Webmaster first asked for the thread to be brought back on topic before he chose to close it but they run this website and can choose to do such things at their discretion. There are always numerous discussions on the forums going about different poles and I would say there's a good variety of brands, finishes and thicknesses across the board when it comes to preferences of people that use this site. In all honesty I have only used X-Pole but I have heard about a lot of girls having bad experiences with PS customer service so I am not sure if they would be my first choice. I have also heard a few stories about bad experiences with X-Pole. Could all of the stories about both companies be made up? Absolutely. I feel like the different poles cater to different needs and I feel that X-Pole has the most versatile features and that is probably one of the reasons they carry it here. I do not feel Veena "pushes" the purchase of an X-Pole to anyone. If she was going to push anything here it would be the lessons because they don't make their main income from their affiliation with X-Pole anyway. The way you approached this was pretty accusatory and negative so don't be surprised people are jumping to Veena's defense – posts of this nature are not really tolerated here.
