Yay I’m glad you made it over! You’ll love it here.

I do have to disagree about the Marilyn Manson one although obviously his entire music collection isn’t glam rock…but a lot of songs from his Mechanical Animals CD were very glam rock inspired, and his video for Dope Show definitely has a lot of androgyny in it which was a huge part of glam rock…
Not trying to be a music snob, just throwing in my .2 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Awww! Well I’m glad you feel comfortable enough to vent to us here. Everyone has off practices..the last three practices I’ve had have all been crap and you know my frustrations with the shoulder mount!
The chopper is not an easy move, I had the same problem you’re having, once I got my legs over my head my abs weren’t doing the work to get my butt over my head so I’d have to hook my leg or just let myself fall. Try doing some ab moves (if you want to email me on here I can give you the ab workout I’m doing that’s really helping me with some pole moves) because that’s what helped me get my butt over my head. But it is hard and it took me a looong time to be able to do it and even longer to be able to hold it…you’re catching on to a lot of moves way faster than I did so you’ll get there.
I’m not married and I don’t have kids so I’m afraid I can’t be of too much help there…but remember guys are dumb! No matter how nice they are…they’re all dumb. Talk to your hubby and tell him why what he did frustrated you and hopefully he will understand. Remember try to use poling as a way to relax even if you just put on music you like and dance around all silly to de-stress yourself…and you always have everyone here to bitch to! Hope today goes better for you. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Oooh g ood luck! I’m glad there’s a representative from the curvy girl pole dancer crowd. I’m pretty open to doing things in public but I wouldn’t be brave enough to compete in a pole contest…I’d probably freak out and not be able to do anything!I bet you’ll knock their socks off!

Aw honey I am so sorry to hear this…it’s never happened to me but a friend of mine recently went through it and I can’t even imagine what it must feel like. Everyone is here for you if you need to talk and please take some extra time to pamper yourself..I’m sure you need it.

It’s worth a shot! It does look legit but you can be 100% sure Veena’s poles are the real deal so it’s worth asking…she’s a doll. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m not a mom yet but I think everyone knows here that I definitely have body issues…and Jacq I can totally relate because any time I tell someone I’d like to lose weight they say "You don’t need to lose any a lot of people are bigger than you are!" but people don’t seem to understand it’s something I want to do for myself and it seems like youre in a similar position with your insecurities.
Veena I hope this doesnt offend you but your body is totally perfect to me so to hear you say you have parts of your body you worry about actually makes me feel better because sometimes even the people you think are perfect have things they worry about too…so I guess we’re all human after all.
Poling has definitely helped me though…and I get a lot of messages on Youtube from girls saying they saw my videos and it made them start pole dancing because they had only seen videos of really thin girls and didn’t think they could do it. At first I was kind of hurt because I felt like they were calling me fat but if my curves can inspire other curvy girls to do something that’s so great then I should be happy!
So mom or not I think everyone on this site is beautiful and amazing and wonderful! I would have probably given up poling so many times if it wasn’t for everyone here cheering me on despite how much I hate my thighs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif

Hahaha oh Jungle you crack me up!
Welcome SueLynn! I also have self confidence issues and poling has definitely helped with that. You should post some videos here…the site is made so only members can see the videos and no one would ever say anything negative about your dancing…everyone here is so amazing and supportive. I love new members posting videos because I’m always so inspired by everyone’s dance styles so I hope you feel comfortable here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Welcome again, stop by friday chat sometime!

Thanks everyone! Yeah in my vid I am definitely flinging my legs up way more than I would like to but hopefully that will get better with time. I was so excited I did it and then I went to wrap my legs around the pole to get inverted and smacked my head on the pole and fell https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif I got this on video but I will not be posting it hahaha. It’s a weird position to get inverted from though, but I think the falling helped me get the hang of it! Thanks for being so supportive everyone!!!!

Ooooh this is a tough one. I mean I feel like an obvious name for my pole would be Cupcake…but I dunno…
Ahhh I got it. I think I will name it Priscilla. I used to waitress at a diner where we had to have a stage name and Priscilla was my waitress name but sadly I quit there quite some time ago…but now Priscilla can live on! (And she’s shinier than I was too!)

This is a really good idea…I need to make a concrete paper list instead of the unorganized one I keep in my head! My practices are just all over the place so maybe if I have some structure I can get some things accomplished. I also think I need a list of things to do at the gym and I need to find some way to reward myself (not with food!) for going to the gym 6x a week like I’m supposed to be doing. But I will definitely try this I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it…thanks Jacq! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

LOL Lily I can totally imagine you picking up strippers numbers! That is too funny.
My ex loooooooved going to strip clubs and I went with him twice…I did have fun but as everyone knows here I am pretty self conscious about my body so I was definitely concerned he’d find some of the girls hotter than I am, or to have better bodies, etc. I also definitely wasnt comfortable with seeing naked women sit on his lap or flirt with him…but to my surprise the girls were paying more attention to me! We got a lap dance and it was mostly me getting a lap dance while he watched…I don’t think he was expecting me to get all the attention and I think it actually pissed him off a little https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif
But, I will agree with everyone here strip clubs can be fun. If you’re cool with the dancers theyre very friendly.
I dont mean to offend any dancers here but at the clubs I’ve gone to I’ve only seen two or three dancers who can use the pole and they really only did some basic inverts and spins…nothing death defying like our Neke does https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I think your husband saying he wants to go so you can get "pole tips" might just be a way to get you to be okay with going…but if my man was going to a club I’d prefer he went with me than without me!
Thats my .2..like Veena said, discuss your limits with him before hand so he’s not surprised when you don’t want a girl to spread her legs in front of you so can see her up to her kidneys. I think it’s worth a go just to say you went, who knows you might end up really enjoying it!

awesome! it seems like i get the most moves when i’m not overthinking them..but you seem like you are progressing very well!
