    Sounds like everyone is doing awesome! I’ve mainted what I’ve lost so far but I have been a bad girl and not keeping up on my workouts at all for the past two weeks…we moved so I no longer have access to the gym in our old apartment and I didn’t have a chance to put my pole up until last night when I worked out for 20 mins and was totally exhausted! Haha so bad. And my birthday is this weekend and I already have dinner with my friends, going out to the bar, then dinner with my family and cake so I’m pretty sure I’m going be about 5 lbs heavier! But I’m going to try to mostly behave myself so I don’t do too much damage…and then hopefully dance it off at the gay bar Sunday night!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I won’t go into healing methods since everyone’s covered them but I would stay away from getting tattooed near going on vacation, you aren’t supposed to expose a new tattoo to sunlight and I don’t think pool water either, so I don’t know how fun your vacation would be https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

    I have tattoos on a few places that come in contact with the pole pretty often and ive never had a problem but everyone does heal differently like everyons been saying….good luck and post a picture if you get it!!

    This is kind of straying from the topic but it always seems like the people who get offended about something like your logo are the ones who let their 11 year old daughters run around with mini skirts and those little tops that let their belly hang out…but they don’t want their kids knowing about anything that might possibly be sexual but isn’t even in your face sexual, it all just depends on how you take the logo. im learning that there is someone out there that will be offended by anything really, so considering its impossible not to offend anyone anymore no matter how careful you are ive just stopped caring completely https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    wow it sounds like everyone is doing really awesome! i have been doing the interval training after reading whoever made the post that said it helped with their belly and i do think it has helped! im not doing the program they posted though, the treadmills in my apartment complex have a sprint program so ive been doing that where i sprint for 30 secs and rest for 90…i was just walking on an incline for an hour before that but i like the sprints better because it breaks up the workout and it seems to be way more effective than what i was doing before!!! i still need to get my pictures posted though. im glad other people are joining me in doing this, i felt kinda silly posting the thread but i know myself and i wont stick to my guns if i dont have anyone holding me accountable…and my bf doesnt count because he buys me all sorts of candy and tries to sabotage me! jerk!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I’m working on getting my pictures posted but my laptop has officially broken now https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif so i need to try and get it fixed…but I cheated and weighed myself today and I’ve lost 9 lbs! I was expecting it to be bad because I haven’t been weighing myself and when I don’t I tend to eat more carelessly because I don’t see the numbers on the scale but I know the scale isn’t a true indication of weight…however I think having the 1/2 jeans is keeping a fire under my butt for now so we’ll see if I can hopefully keep up with it!

    I was also going to suggest P90 ab ripper, I have a copy of it and boy does it burn!!!!!!! I’m embarrassed to admit how long I’ve had it for and have only done it a handful of times but part of my new fitness goal is to do it every other day, but just from the few times I have done it I can tell it whips you into shape FAST! I can’t even get through the whole DVD yet but I will conquer you ab ripper…!!!!

    Amyxshi said what I was about to say https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I’m sooo not trying to be preachy but I think the more you work on controlling your invert the easier it will be for you to lift yourself into it and you can control getting into the move so it might make things a lot easier. When I first started poling I bought this DVD and when the instructor taught an invert I remember her saying "Don’t kick into the move, it’s easier to do it now but in the long run you will be at a disadvantage" and only now a year later have I finally been able to understand what she meant! I had the same problem with the shoulder mount, it took me months after I learned it to be able to do it in shoes, they were plastic Pleasers so they barely weighed anything but I think I got thrown off by the height difference.     Yeah I don’t think it’s an issue and one time I actually did a belly dance performance and the girl immediately before me did the same song as me! I was nervous that people would be bored after hearing the same song twice but then I realized even though we were doing the same song, we both have different interpretations of the music, so I honestly don’t mind it and I am able to separate different dancers even if they did the same song….but that might also be because I’ve probably seen thousands of pole videos at this point so I really can’t keep track of anyone anymore unless it’s someone I talk to on a regular basis https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Maybe we could do a challenge where we all dance to the same song, that might actually be kind of interesting!

    I can’t post pictures yet because my camera won’t hook up to my dumb laptop…I could have my bf take pictures of me on his camera phone but I’m not letting out my belly all the way in front of him hahaha. But I should probably write down some actual goals too…

    I don’t weigh myself but I really want to get rid of my belly as well, I bought a pair of size 1/2 jeans track my progress…

    Fit into 1/2 jeans
    Do cardio for 45 mins-1 hour 5 or 6 days a week (6 is being optimistic but I would really like to make it happen)
    Do my ab ripper dvd every other day
    Pole 3-4x week
    Learn aerial shoulder mount, full cartwheel, death lay, jacknife, handspring
    Be more flexible
    BE MORE SELF CONFIDENT!
    Eat clean…I’m not restricting foods because I don’t do well when I deprive myself but I know what I should and shouldn’t be eating, although the occasional cupcake will be allowed https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I’m sure I’ll think of more stuff to add to this list and replace stuff after I cross it off…so hopefully I get to cross everything off! Heeeeere we go!

    Yeah I think its way easier for me to stay on top of it if I have people keeping me on track…even though not a lot of people responded to this thread I’m still going to keep up with it maybe just to hold myself accountable for eating better/working out more. I’m going to post pictures but I will probably do it in my blog on here so I don’t scare anyone since I’m sure it’s going to be terrifying https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

    sissy i do it in the end of my february challenge video, i tried to find the time marker but the site doesnt have time markers so you have to find it haha. im pretty sure i do it with my arms bent although i dont really think about it anymore so maybe i changed it, but in past videos i always did it with my arms bent at the elbow.

    Anyone who was in Friday chat in the spring time of last year knows how long I struggled with this move omg i was sooo frustrated! TaraKarina has a superman tutorial which was on youtube a while ago and I’m not sure if it’s still up, but she did it on the ground by just laying stomach down on the floor with the pole between your legs, reaching back and just lifting your feet up. I did that first to make sure I could actually hold myself in the position…I also suffer from sweaty hands so I don’t do it in my videos a lot because if my right hand is sweaty I can’t let go of my bottom arm unless I want to face plant.

    When Veena was helping me in chat she was showing me how to do it from gemini but for some reason I almost always go into from an invert, StellarMotion showed me how to do it from inverted thigh hold but I can only exit the superman with inverted thigh hold, not get into it! That’s so weird. I’m working on the superman fall now which is a whole separate list of problems for me!

    The only reason I couldn’t get into it was because I wasn’t arching my back enough to balance myself, one day I realized that and I arched my back and got it the first try..which was actually my 320729364th attempt since I had started learning it….I’m a slow learner, what can I say!

    yeah ive never tried the butt/neck one but ive heard its a little harder so its called the advanced archer i think..unless im thinking of another move, but i think ive seen fleur do it a few times. im just having a problem straightening my arms enough because when i do bow and arrow i have my arms bent, so maybe thats my problem?
