I'm starting to finally show mine a little through pole, I've been the chubby kid/girl my whole life but am in the best shape of my life due to pole and I noticed they were poking through a bit! Of course that was before all the junk food and beer I had this weekend… 🙂

I had a great time too! Sorry I turned down the cake normally I never would but I was drinking a huge beer and thought they might not go well together 🙂 you are so cute and next time we will for sure have to chat more I wasn't feeling too well so I wasn't as chatty/social as I would have liked to be either. All the performers were fantastic I was so proud of everyone…and I have Joel giving you guys your dances on video…https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Post a video and we can try to take a look at it for you? It's a tricky one it took me a while to figure it out!

Granted I have never been an instructor and I am self taught with the use of these lessons but I can see how you would be disappointed in both teaching styles and also how you felt confused by one instructor showing you one way of doing something and another instructor contradicting what the other one said (unless I am confused and this happened at 2 different places?) but either way when the question arose I think the instructor could have acknowledged the basic way before showing the advanced way or just acknowledged it somehow to make it less confusing for people who were asking about the other way. and i feel that responsibility lies on the owner to make sure the instructors are teaching consistently regardless of them being employed there at the same time or not. I do agree with what others said about finding the type of teaching style/studio that best fits your needs and it probably will take some shopping around. A lot of people do a combination of veena lessons and a studio or veena lessons and an open pole session once a week etc.

Sometimes mine have accidentally gotten funneled into my spam folder and then eventually set themselves right again so that might be a possibility?
-
Nope you don’t need to do anything at all besides let it try, it’s literally a liquidy glue that is meant for fabric. The only issue I had was that the pump got clogged up halfway through so I had to use one of those wide foamy craft brushes to help evenly disperse the glitter or you can just buy an empty spray bottle in case you need it, they have different colors of the spray glitter as well!
-
I wanted a sparkly outfit for a performance but I am on a budget so I went to the craft store and bought spray on glitter and I have used it on several pole outfits and it works really well. I like a lot of bling so I used the entire bottle for just one top and bottom but you can use as much or as little as you want and there's basically no mess except for any overspray. As I have washed the outfits the glitter has come off a bit but the bottle was pretty inexpensive so if I need to wear it again I can just add more sparkles. Hopefully this helps you some 🙂

MemberJune 15, 2011 at 12:19 am in reply to: Dancing for the boyfriend for the first timeIf you can do it, get a copy of the idiot's guide to pole and exotic dance. the book has entire chapters on this subject exactly and covers tons of stuff you wouldnt even think about and gives suggestions for themes, costumes etc. and the girl who wrote it has a good sense of humor so its a fun read regardless, but it does have some pole and chair/floorwork in there too and comes with a dvd. i am not getting paid to say this that was just a really good resource i have used in the past. and for transtions and such or sexy poses to do on the pole veena's lessons are awesome!!!!!

MemberJune 9, 2011 at 4:52 pm in reply to: What exercises can I do to prepare for pole dancing??If you are on a budget buy the $20/month lesson subscription and the few items you need like a resistance band and dumbbells which are usually pretty cheap if you get them at walmart or target. she has a lot of flexibility and strength training moves you can do to get a head start so when your pole comes you will be all set. you can also work on floorwork too without having a pole and she has a lot of fun floorwork and chair moves 🙂

Sally beauty supply sells a kit for $20 or $25 and the container it comes with is enough for 3-4 tans. Refill cans are 8.99. It’s a spray gun that is pretty easy to use with a little practice, I do find I need to use a foundation brush or makeup sponge to even it out if it turns out streaky but for the money I think it was a good investment good luck!

Veena and Webmaster do an amazing job of finding the questionable members on here and deleting them right away. I have always been super impressed at how fast they do it and this is also true when it comes to nasty posts made by polers, that sort of thing is taken down almost immediately. This is their business and they do everything they can to keep this a safe and secure place for polers since that's one of the missions of the site in the first place. I was one of the first to join here almost three years ago and I have always felt safe posting here thanks to Veena and Webby who do a fabulous job keeping the content of this site awesome for all of us 🙂

I think soy and wheat allergies sometimes can be related? From what I remember my gluten free friend can't have soy…Also I remember hearing a story about a girl who was so allergic to peanuts, her bf ate a pb sandwich and kissed her a few hours later and she died. Not saying your allergy is that extreme but it shows that you can be pretty sensitive to cross contamination like if your boyfriend had wheat and you share a drink or kiss, that could possibly cause an allergic reaction from you like a headache…but it is really awesome it seems that you are finding a solution!
-
Yep I work in a restaurant and if we have a customer with an allergy we have to cook their food on a completely separate grill to make sure it doesn't touch anything. There are varying degrees of food allergies so some people could eat something cooked on a grill with cross contamination and they would be fine, other people can't even come into contact with the item they are allergic to…so if you are allergic to wheat then yes it could be possible. I have a friend who was having horrible headaches so she started keeping a food diary and it turned out she was allergic to gluten, she has now gone gluten free and is headache free as well. I also have tummy aches when I eat a lot of bread and pasta so I dont think I'm allergic but i don't think wheat and things like that agree very well with my tummy so I try to avoid them. Good luck with everything please let me know how it goes!

MemberMay 9, 2011 at 9:45 pm in reply to: anyone else have recurring yeast infections? my lady business is a jerk!!!!Thank you Joni and everyone else who responded!! I am relieved so many other people have the same things going on I was beginning to feel dirty/like a weirdo. I have a gyno appointment next tuesday but tomorrow I will go out and get these remedies and try them. I did take an over the counter one night vagisil medication thing and it seems to have alleviated the symptoms for now but since this has been continuing for so long I will be sure I keep up with the maintenence you girls are suggesting. I'm hoping between keeping up with it and finally getting it treated together I will see some improvement. I don't ever get sperm inside me because I'm always paranoid about getting preggo even though I'm on the pill so I am positive it's not a reaction to sperm but that's really the only thing I can rule out for sure, I do have a lot of the other requisites for recurring BV/yeast infections such as being on oral contraceptives, being of child bearing age, etc. I have never had any allergic skin reactions or sensitivites to anything up until this point in my life so I don't think it would be that…but I know body chemistry always changes and it's possible to develop allergies to anything at any time so I will try to keep track of what soaps and toilet paper I've been using. Thanks again ladies this information is so helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay for healthy lady businesses 🙂

MemberMay 8, 2011 at 2:48 pm in reply to: anyone else have recurring yeast infections? my lady business is a jerk!!!!Thanks ladies! I was beginning to wonder if that was a possibility….I got bv for the first time very early into our relationship so we both were tested for STI's and it all came back fine so I just assumed I was the problem but the fact that I keep getting them over and over means I'm guessing he is at fault….it seems like men are ALWAYS the problem…haha jk….kind of! 😉 I will also take all the supplements and things you girls have recommended to me which I probably should have been taking anyway. I feel much better having some light shed on the situation I will be making a gyno appointment this week and hopefully he can write us both a prescription.

I'm so jealous! I want one so bad. If you lived closer I would show up on your doorstep immediately and demand to dance on it 😉 happy mother's day!!!

Well men are simple so I think if you say something like "I would love for you to watch me when im ready but im just starting and i need time to figure out what im doing, in a few weeks once ive polished some moves i will do a special show just for you" or something like that so he doesn't feel like he's missing out, my boyfriend really could care less about my pole so I have your opposite problem 😉
