https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gifI cannot say enough how impressed I am with the new strenth training lessons on SV! Lately my life has been getting pretty hectic and at the end of the day I can barely think about dancing…and sometimes its just hard for me to want to tap into my "expressive" side when I've already given so much during the day. kwim?

I hate losing strength and I still want to get a workout in, but I don't have a gym membership, or a studio to get away to. The strength training here has been the answer for me! After you've run through the individual lessons there is a strength training routine and for 20mins or more depending on the amount of reps you want to do, you can workout alongside Veena. (and if you yell at her when it gets tough she'll never know. shhhhh.)

So earlier this month I started doing this 20mins tops…get through it and get on with the other million things I had to do (and sometimes I'd end up poling cause its a shame to waste a warm pole and body, right?) Anyways, miracle of miracles…after not really dancing in over a week I busted out my 1st shoulder mount and air invert….craziness. I gotta give it to this strength routine though cause I sure wasn't pushing hours on the pole.

Gaining enough strength to execute adv. moves has been a huge challenge for me, so I just had to share! HTH!

Thank you for sharing that with us! I had never thought to use the Pole Strength Routine as a way to get your workout in and not have to over think it!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Adding my love for the strength routine!  Its fun to go through the all exercises with guidance.  I've only done it twice, but its starting to get easier to climb.

I'd like to request a conditioning routine to round out the awesome conditioning lessons.  Warm up, strength routine, conditioning routine and call it a day when pressed for time.

So after reading this thread I decided to give the routine a try. And guess what I just did today? My very first shoulder mount!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Though I must add that I've been doing knee tucks in the shoulder mount grip on a regular basis for 2.5 months now … so I think it's not completely due to the routine https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Awesome! I just feel like I have no excuses to lose strength now that I have this in my "pocket" 🙂

OK, I am going to check out these lessons too!  I need a lot more strenght!  Figured it will come with time if I keep poling, but don't want to wait that long!!!!!  I am doing them tomorrow!

Thanks for sharring that! I too have been slipping away from my pole with the same reasons as yourself but you have inspired me to start doing strength training to get my muscles back in shape and get back up on my pole as often as i used/need/want to!  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

The Pole Strength Training is definitely a gem!! I started this routine last week and I can actually feel myself getting stronger!! Well, not to the point where I can do a SM but definitely improving ^_^

But with the leg lift…I'm STILL hitting my side rib cage…argh…  If I take a video of myself, where can I post it so I can get some feedback?? I desparately need help w/ plank too (I can do one side and not the other) and the leg lift (the one where prep you for the invert) I think my hold is funny…but I can't tell =/

I'm adding my three cheers for the pole strength routing too! It's great, I can do as much or as little as I have the energy for (I have CFS/CFIDS) and it helps keep my strength/fitness up. It just about killed me the first few times, but I can now do two sets of 10 reps for each item, yay! Thanks Veena!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
