Veena, omg that is awful! i currently use a brass 38mm so I now it can sometimes be an issue for some people, but I have yet to have any issues! At the higher height, I could see it being more of a problem, but I am also very light and I (hopefully) won’t have any issues! I will definitely keep it in mind though 🙂
And thanks stephanie! I spoke with you guys the other day, and I did get the permanent mount. just waiting for it to arrive! 🙂

so i called xpole and decided to get the permanent mount. They said the pressure mounted dome would still be safe but i should avoid doing “anything too crazy” on it. So I decided to just go ahead and get the permanent mount for piece of mind’s sake. They also said that while a build a pole would be ideal in this situation, the regular home pole is still very safe, especially with the permanent mount. the reason i didn’t go with the buildapole in the first place is because they don’t make them in 40mm brass. but i feel good about all of this so far! I guess the next step is to contact someone who could install the permanent mount. How should i go about finding one of these contractors that could do this? any ideas? and any idea on what to expect cost-wise?

Veena,
i think I will like the thinner diameter as well! I’m also excited to use a brass pole. I’ve never been on one, but I could definitely use the extra grip. It get so humid here where i live in the summers, my chrome just isn’t cutting it unless my AC is turned up full blast.
