thanks lynette! I have to admit that I didn´t know that I could get my leg that high on the ground ^^
You need so much back flexibility for this move!
Yours looks very beautiful, too! let me know whether you could extend your leg as much as on the floor when you try it aerial!

thanks soooo much ollie! I never thought someone would find a video of it =)
I get into it the same way, but now I can be really sure that it´s possible to do it from a dove! I also saw, that she kept her foot at the same place and also moved her hands.
This video really helped!! It looks so beautiful how she gets into it and when she is in the backsplit.
Can´t wait to try it again. But I might have to take a rest day for my back, I don´t wan´t to overstress it ^^
thanks again ollie <3

i think it´s possible from a dove, but it´s so difficult. Here´s a picture of my doing the pose on the floor (with a sock, so I can slide up the pole with my foot easier^^):

When I go into it from dove I don´t have enough grip with socks, but without socks I can´t slide my foot up to my hands. Because of the pressure my "foot grip" is super strong.
So I tried to slide down with my hands, but I couldn´t get my leg as straight as when I stand on the ground (had to bend my leg, because I was too close to the floor, but extending the lower leg is no problem):

Any ideas how to make it easier on the pole? If I could just get my leg as straight as on the floor I would be totally pleased. I don´t matter if it´s not completely straight at the moment as I´m not that flexible yet

thanks for your replied. I had a private class with her and we talked about he. She said she never had pain because of her hyperextension, too. which is really good to here.
but I will keep all your tipps and experiences in mind, once we do our first split grips!

i also looked through some of anastasia´s videos, but couldn´t find anything yet… I´ll practice now a bit and will try how far I can get into it from a dove (maybe with some help of my boyfriend ^^) and let you know how it worked
-
wow so many replies while I was sleeping =) Thanks so much!
@lina:I saw anastasia doing it only on the floor (variation with foot on same side like the body) and wondered if she just lifts the lower leg, then it would be the flying light
@reenie: Milien Elayne´s pose looks a bit like done from a dove maybe, too. maybe It´s a combination of sliding with the foot up and walking down a bit with the hands? I think I´ll write her and ask how she gets into it. I´m sure if you´re flexible enough and have some practice you could completely extend your legs from her position, then it would be that backsplit I would like to learn.
@chumpkin: that variation in the video was the only one I could imagine how to get into ^^ How would you get from it into one of the variations where the foot touches the pole? (besides her backsplit looks soooo beautiful!!)
@ember: that would be great! as i also can´t remember that I ever saw more of that trick than just photos

@karmel: try simfy. you can listen 5h per month for free and all songs are in very good quality. i´m also from germany and i hate when i want to watch a video or listen to a song and can´t because i live here =(

this trick looks so beautiful, I will also have to try it! Looks very impressive how you fly around your pole!
Besides, I also totally understand that it´s not allowed to upload tutorials here. I think Amy wrote a very interesting article on her blog about students who teach during a class. I think it´s the same online as in a "live class".
I hope it´s okay that I post the link, Amy? ^^

good decision not to try it when you are scared! i love my yoga blocks, you can do so much with them. I´m sure they´ll help you, too!
-
i worked on my handstand lift with yoga blocks under my feet, which made it much easier. but they are of course more stable
what happened lyme lyte? hope you didn´t fall?

what a talented bunny! did you see the combo where it goes from a back knee hook into a chopper and back down through a extended butterfly? soooo cute

MemberDecember 10, 2011 at 3:34 pm in reply to: Straight Leg Invert (From floor and climb)this happens to me at the end of a long practice when I loose strenght, so you maybe still need some extra strenght to keep your legs completely straight.
have you tried it with only one leg straight?
you can also work on the reverse motion to gain more strenght for this tricks, just lower your body very slowly from the inverted V and keep your legs all the way down in a V until your body is vertical and you get back to the floor.
Good Luck!

MemberDecember 10, 2011 at 3:58 am in reply to: vertical dance online instructor qualificationso interesting to read all the different opinions and experiences. all programs seem to be worth the money. I think I´ll get the cert from discoveries pole dance first as it seems to cover also beginner to advanced move and I don´t have a lot of money at the moment (I´m a student^^), maybe I can later take some other certs which only focus on one level
I also found a online group fitness certification in germany, which also is not too expensive. I hope I can get this one in future, too. But until I have the money for that one, I found some great books on amazon which cover at least what you theoretical would learn.
I really like that there is a lot of anatomy covered. One of my school leaving examination was in sports, so I already learned a lot about training theory and kinetics, but anatomy was only very little covered.
Does anyone know more about the videos Legend mentioned? I have no problem teaching in english as most I read about pole dance is anyway in english, but what if my student doesn´t understand some terms? Is it okay if you sometimes repeat things for your student in your language if she doesn´t undertand?

MemberDecember 9, 2011 at 2:51 am in reply to: vertical dance online instructor qualificationthat´s great. I´m still considering whether I should get also the VD training or this one: http://www.discoveriesdance.com/#!distance-course
did you get the training with the fitness module?
I really want to learn something about anatomy, too, but it would cost more at verticaldance while discoveriesdance already includes it for a lower price.
here´s my facebook account: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1257823636
would be great to hear something about your experiences!
