Running is great for overall lower body strength but it’s not building strength in the specific movements you want.
Try this one. Sit in your straddle with pointed toes, activate your quads to lock your legs straight. Place a yoga block, water bottle or other obstacle next to and in front of your foot. Lift the leg while maintaining straight legs and move it over the obstacle without knocking it over. Put the foot back on the floor as lightly as possible (don’t just let go of your muscles and let it drop, stay active throughout) You can use multiple items and hop the leg all the way to a pike and back. Try one leg at a time or both together for a bigger challenge! The taller the obstacle the harder it is! -
Make sure your tummy skin is exposed too! This move definitely hurts the elbows if you don’t have any other griping points. 😨

The laws vary by country but here in Canada you are allowed to protect yourself and your property with any “reasonable” force. He was unarmed and you 4 used no weapons other than your bodies. Even 4 on 1, he was the one who initiated it by being somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be and doing something he wasn’t supposed to do. If this happened here I think that it would be unlikely that he would be able to sue. That’s doesn’t mean it’s the same where you live but i hope so.
I hope you guys make the newspaper. I can see the headline now, “Girl power!” -

I have the rubberbanditz and have no issues with them slipping on my chrome poles. You could try a double wrap and see if that helps.
-
I used a Lindsay Lithe promo code to buy mine. I found it on her instagram page. If you DM her I’m sure she’d give it to you.

I am also not 40. I’ll be 35 this year but i wanted to say a couple things.
First, my mom went through my level 1 program at 55 or so and did awesome. I made a routine for her to “Lady in Red” by Chris Deburgh, she got dressed up in a little red baby doll and we filmed it for my dad. He was so impressed, I’m pretty sure he got laid that night. Lol 😂
Secondly, I’m going to agree that 3 classes is nowhere near long enough to learn to climb. I couldn’t do a single pull up or even a pole sit at that point so please don’t be discouraged. Everyone’s journey is different some might be able to climb after a month and some might take a year. There is NOTHING wrong with that. Veena’s lessons are the best you can get as a total beginner. Do the 30 Day take off and you will see vast improvements in the month! Hope to hear more as you progress because I know you will be great. -
Maybe from a Violator/Hello Boys? Or maybe from Bottle rocket? You’d have to try it and see if it works.

So beautiful and I love the workshop, it really makes it authentic and adds so much ambiance. ☺
-
Yup Strange Fox you can just use a hair dryer. I have a hair dryer that lives in my pole room. It only takes a few minutes to get things warmed up that way.

Where the heck do you live, the North Pole!?!?
Lol, sorry. I thought it was starting to get cold here in Ontario Canada but now I see I have nothing to complain about… -
@Krugerleo Studio Veena is THE place to start your pole journey. Great lessons, great community. Welcome!
-
Most of what we attempt is on Instagram! 😀
-
Welcome to your new life! 🙋😂
Veena’s lessons here are awesome and the whole community is super supportive and helpful if you have any questions about anything, pole or otherwise! ☺ -
Ah yes, I know that one too. Very common with the aussie polers I believe. I’ve not had much luck with that one yet. ☺
-
Not sure exactly what you are referring to for the princess grip but the Veena grip is a great option to cup grip. Check out Veena’s shoulder mount lesson. I think she shows it there but basically you move your outside (top) hand around to the front of the pole in a basic baseball grip. ☺

Keep practicing on the ground until it becomes more natural. Eventually with practice it will become easier and you will be able to find that activation in other positions too.
-
Everyone is different. If you like split grip and are comfortable in extended butterfly and inverted D using split grip then I think a split grip aysha makes the most sense. But try a few different options too, you may surprise yourself.

So I’ve been playing around with this and I came up with a few great ways to try this low if anyone is interested.
The candlestick/shoulderstand that MdawWat mentioned is a great way to practice coming up from a brass monkey into a sit but you don’t really get the feel of the move with so much of your bodyweight on the floor.
A head stand beside the pole can also get you there with less weight on the floor than a shoulderstand but still some support from top of the head and one hand.
I also tried the “spinning brass monkey” lesson from Cleo’s site which gets you into BM from a “downward dog” shape on the floor. Gives you the full move while still being able to reach the floor with your hands for an easy exit. ☺
The video linked earlier also shows from a layback, from genie (which is similar to the sit entry, you lower down into it) and from the “claw grip flip” which is a common back flip move but if you hook the inside leg at the top of the flip you end up in BM.
Thanks Veeners for the suggestions, tips and the video link. 💖😙
