Not from a new trick necessarily, but an everyday action that you do and think, “hey, that was easy” or “wow, that used to hurt to do that”.
Congrats! -

MemberJuly 30, 2021 at 1:22 pm in reply to: Anyone else going to start the 30day take off soon?I hear you! My days rarely go to plan and the workout seems to be the thing that gets shoved aside. I got back on my pole on Wednesday did the Day 10 workout from the 30 Day take off and then moved on to my spinning pole work.
Some clips from today’s spin pole practice.

MemberJuly 25, 2021 at 2:29 pm in reply to: Anyone else going to start the 30day take off soon?Awesome! I hope you are enjoying the no pole program. Veena’s programs are so well put together. This site was my main learning method when I started pole about 12 years ago, and I keep coming back.
I recently got a new pole (my 3rd one now, lol) with a smaller diameter (40mm instead of 45mm) and it has improved my grip so much. I’m working on learning some proper spin pole techniques and hopefully more advanced poses that I couldn’t get before because of grip problems. I’ll post a video here next time I practice to share what I’m working on. 😀

MemberJuly 25, 2021 at 3:23 am in reply to: Anyone else going to start the 30day take off soon?I’m working through the 30 day take off as a strength and conditioning workout guide coming back from a break in pole training. I’ve done up to Day 9 but I only do a couple days a week so you’ll catch up and pass me quickly. I’m pairing the workouts from 30 day take off with the 30 day spin pole program to add something new and fun!

Love shop and Stag shop usually have a few varieties of Pleasers in stock. Its a good place to try stuff on and determine what styles you like, and what size fits best. If nothing else it will give you a better idea of what size to order online if you decide to go that route.

That’s perfect Veena!

MemberDecember 30, 2019 at 12:57 am in reply to: Question for Veena on Three Of Her Stretching Routines!Beginner or not you are always better to start slow if you want to avoid injury. I’m assuming this schedule is in addition to other non-flex training that you are already doing.
I would start by doing one routine each day mentioned the first week. If that feels good, do both split routines one day, back flex one day and whatever feels good for the third day of the second week. If you still feel like you want more give your plan a go on week three. You will find your limit without so much pressure and risk of overdoing it. -

MemberJune 26, 2018 at 3:44 am in reply to: My X-Pole is Hulk-Smashing My Ceiling and I Don’t Know What To Do About ItI’ll bet most of us have! I know I am lucky in some ways. My hubby let me turn our whole living room into a pole space (we made a nice den in the basement instead) so I have tons of horizontal space and floor area which is great for floorwork and standing work but my ceiling is just over 7.5feet high so I feel terribly limited that way and it drives me crazy. I can reach to the top of the pole while standing on the floor and in heels…well it’s not even a stretch. I have learned how to work with it for the most part but long aerial combos are pretty much impossible and I know I have a lot of bad habits because of the height limitations especially when it comes to inverting. But oh well, we just make the best with whatever we have I guess.

MemberJune 25, 2018 at 3:23 am in reply to: My X-Pole is Hulk-Smashing My Ceiling and I Don’t Know What To Do About ItPlace a board of plywood across two joists and put up the pole under that. It will spread the load to the joists and hopefully avoid more damage to the ceiling. I wouldn’t leave it between joists just on the drywall, if it were to break through while doing a spin or invert it could potentially fall and really hurt you.
-
One option might be to mount a piece of plywood across the two beams and then set the pole up under the plywood. It should help spread the load across the middle to the beams.

Dirty Girl Poletice is a grip aid for sweaty handed folks like us. It changed my life!

MemberMay 12, 2018 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Muscle Engagement and getting “Stuck” in Iguana MountI want to add that working on the negative of the movement and trying to stop and hold the position with your toes just above the floor might help too. ☺
-
I set up my phone on the floor (I just lean it against a wall or chair) about 10-12′ away from the pole. More distance is better but you just have to work with whatever you have available. ☺

I wear a 7 in both open toed shoes and closed boots.☺

Dirty Girl Poletice is great for sweaty hands! I would have quit long ago if it wasn’t for this product.

I bought 6’×2’×2″ rectangle shaped mats at Play it Again Sports (I live in Canada, not sure if the store exists elsewear). They are not super thick but i got four of them and just double them up if I want more protection. The nice thing about them is that they fold up nicely for storage in my pole cupboard.

Rubberbanditz are not cheap but soo awesome! 😠😠ðŸ˜

No ideas as to where to buy one (I live in Canada too) but you might be able to get a local manufacturing shop to custom make you one. I don’t know what else to suggest besides looking on kijiji and similar sites for a used pole and start over.
If you go the custom made route you could get it exactly as long as you want ie. if 125mm leaves you with a lot of adjuster rod sticking out but 250mm is too long 175mm or 200 mm might actually give you a little bit more useable pole! -
Hi Rune! Glad to see you’re back and doing well. Wierdly, I had been thinking about you recently.
Your getting married next month! OMG that’s so exciting, congratulations to you and your fiancee. I’m so happy for you.
Not sure if Veena had any of her 30 day programs up when you left a couple years ago but that would be a good place to start back into pole. Maybe the 30 Day take off to start with and afterwards you could try the flow or flexibility program or even the 30 days to Invert since I know that you always struggled with that.
You know you can post video on this site even if you don’t see anything you like I guarantee someone here will. Positive comments might help you see something in yourself that you didn’t see before and help feed that “high” your brain is looking for.
Hoping all continues well for you. Thanks for the update. ☺ -
@PolesandMotorcycles Hello from Ontario! *waves*
I also have sweaty hyper hydrosis hands and get frustrated easily some days when I pole. I use a chrome pole but with lots of isopropyl alcohol and grip aids! Lol. I use on my legs because I often find they are dry even though my hands are soaked. Then I wash that off my hands and apply Dirty Girl Poletice. That has been one of the best products for me. If i find that’s not quite doing it adding a little Tite Grip on top usually will work. I also have Mighty Grip gloves for those humid summer days when nothing will stop the sweat pouring out of my hands. I have tried so many different grips over the years; Mighty Grip, Dry Hands, Itac, and others but none of it works for more than a couple minutes at best (if at all). I had all but almost given up poling when I found Dirty Girl. I am currently waiting on a shipment of Girlie Grip and I will try that one too and see how it goes.
If you do purchase a differently finished pole I’d love to hear how it works for you as I’ve been curious to try brass and powder coated for the same reasons as you, chrome and stainless are slippery as F@ck! I’ve tried TG and found it no different than chrome.
Goodluck! -

You ceiling has to have joists somewhere. That’s what holds the weight of the roof or the next floor up. Finding them can be tricky. Try asking a mechanically inclined friend if you have one. Good luck! ☺

It won’t hurt it any. The higher % you can get the better but I don’t know what’s available where you are. I use 99% or 70% when I can’t get the 99.
