I would say that any studies that apply to gymnastics would cross over to pole. I know there have been quite a few articles written in magazines lately. I would also suggest contacting Matt from Jasmine Dragons in Ohio. He can give you first hand knowledge of what aerial arts (pole, lyra, silks) ahve done for kids as probably 90% of his students are 15 and under.
In your searches don't just look for "pole" look for circus arts.

VDub, go and check out the Danskin line at Walmart. I have seen larger sizes in their line and they are cute and cheap.
Here are also a few threads with sports bras for large chested women:

MemberNovember 5, 2012 at 7:11 am in reply to: SHOE LUST.do you think these would work?I personally would not let those near my pole. I do enough damage to it with the metal hooks from my boots. Another note, typically those spikes are on with nothing but glue, although those look more like silicone spikes than metal.

I suggest measuring how high you hit with shoes and arms totally extended upward and use that as your distance. I think minimum 6 feet apart though is a good measure. For me I need a good 8 foot of clearance. Another way to measure is to hold onto your pole and bend down, extending your leg. If you hit the other pole or any walls/furniture you are too close. Add 6-7" if you ever plan on practicing in shoes.

Marlo was the first one that I ever saw do a version of this move. I have never seen it extended out though.

I have lots of music suggetions for dubstep if it goes that way.
Not sure all of you can see this but there is a TON of really good music here. Alethea is NOT a dubstep fan and decided to dance to it during Bringing Sexy Back wseek. She asked for suggestions. Here is the response:

If you are freinds with her on FB look back in her timeline to around July 11….there are a lot more suggestions. Which just reminds me that I really need to get to downloading some new music.

They do make ones for spinning and ones for static holds. When they first came out there were some flaws and the stitching just did not hold up. Mighty Grip has since remedied it. Just another sign of a good company….they take known issues and actually try to fix them.

I think I bought mine about this time last year. I am not sure if all of the new ones are the 10" style but I do know that they changed the set screw design so that it is actually a screw now.
New style: https://www.studioveena.com/photos/next/4ec45e6f-4a0c-43d8-8590-09be0ac37250
The old style you can see a seam/gap in the piece.

It is not unstable but can damage the pole piece inside if you continue to let it go. X Pole has redesigned the X joint and I would highly recommend ordering one. They are only I think $20.

Throw on some music, dim the lights and just dance. Forget about the tricks just let your body move with the music. If you are working on tricks make them PERFECT…pointed toes, beautiful lines, something that mkes them YOURS. Just because you can *do* a trick does not mean you are done with it. I am working on making my shoulder mount "pretty", whish is not an easy task. I am also working on everything on the opposite side, whcih is even harder! Try climbing with the opposite foot or inverting on your oposite side; it is like everything is new again.
-
Can you flow? Tricks are nice but if you cannot flow them into a dance then what good are they?

That was the reason for the rope lights….with the lights off in the garage and just the rope lights a lot of the stuff was hardly noticable.
I had my Lil Mynx pole out there just over the concrete and it never once slipped. I imagine adding the grip stuff in between could do not harm. The only thing that happened with mine over time is that the edges of the panel started warping upwards…but that was over a few years time frame.
There are a few threads about what other people have done under their pole. I think I ahve responded to ever single one the same so if you do a search on "panelling" you should pull up all of the threads.

Tansy- go to Lowes or Home Depot. I used a left over piece of bathroom wall panel on my floor in the garage but this would be my #1 choice now:

It is 4×8 and is under $10.
This is what I originally had but in silver. This panel is $20.

This was my original garage set up. I put the room dividers up just for the pics.

I have gotten kind of used to the search engine here and many times I remember pieces of threads so I think that may make it easier.
One day I hope to have my own personal pole space. Oh well, a girl can dream, right?

I just went and tried and I did 4 totally cold. My pull up bar also has handles that stick out at a 45 degree angle from the bar and that was what I used.

MemberNovember 1, 2012 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Put Down the Pink, and Pick Up Your Pen!Yeah, and they have found that certain substrates of cannabis actually cure cancer (at least in the lab). This knowledge has been around for 20 years but due to our laws it is a difficult area of study.
I guess in the end will I buy a product just because some proceeds go to Komen? No. Will I buy products because they are now made in pink because of Komen? Yeah, probably (I love pink). This is the only reason I have a pink Swiffer in my kitchen. I also look at all of the pink stuff as an in your face kind of reminder to women.

Gah….I just red something in the last 2 months about proper positioning for pull ups and for the life of me I cannot find it.
A few years back for the life of me I could not do a single pull up. I know I can now but not sure how many. Best way to train them for me was doing negatives. Have a stool to stand on then bend your legs and resist down.

Are you talking about foot undeez? Capezio makes them, as well as Sweet Vixen Couture. Theya re also known as lyrical dance shoes.

When mine was in the garage I put down a sheet of panelling and put lights around it. Right now mine is in the back room and I ahve not done anything back there. The foam mats are good but watch your toes and if you ever wear shoes. I have injured myself more using teh mats than I have not using them!
I am also linking a bunch of threads here. Lots of fun ideas:
