Again, what bigger thingy are you speaking of? Is this the old style XPole with the screw together pieces or the new with the X Joints?

I have seen Phoenix do it with no feet on pole. If you go through this album you will see that yes it can be done:

Kimara@xpoleus.com. I think Heidi is similar. I am pretty sure that Kimara is extension 102. She is located here in Cleveland so you can get a hold of her on eastern time.

I have yet to get over my fear of a freaking cartwheel mount. I am typically fine with head back moves but face forward moves mess me up. Part of this also has to do with my inability to do an inverted split grip….I am afraid if I cannot even successfully get into that move then how am I going to control an invert into it?

Why do you think people love their foam rollers and rolfing? I tore my hamstring a few weeks back to the point where I could not even walk the next morning. Had a massage at lunch time that day and was able to walk fine after it.

As for your question, there is a really good answer from XPole as to how to determine if your pole is real or fake. https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/91#bottom
It is about half way down the posts.

MemberMay 8, 2013 at 9:41 am in reply to: Pole supposed to behave this way? (second-hand second guessing)Are you sure 100% this is an xpole? On top of the dome I side the silicone ring should be a serial number. What you are describing is not normal and I cannot even figure out how the locking screws can fall into the inside of the pole as the adjustor rod is a solid piece of metal.

Google images is a wonderful thing!

Once you get more familiar with the move you can move it more towards the center just because you learn how to properly get in and out of it without rolling on the tender bits.

The wrist seat and the tail spin (bum slide…all of the crotch moves) are not supposed to be dead on. You want to get somewhere between the crease and the upper/back thigh. This is a good illustration of the position:

As for your wondering how the XSL was weighted down, we used standard weight lifting plates. The XSL just had the weights whereas the original they used bags of quick crete. I was the one who helped get the weights in and under the stages so I kinda know for sure this is what was used in Michigan. They were mostly I think 25 lb weights but there were a few 50s too.

Oh, yeah, BTW, I have to buy large or extra large tops now. And I am a size 8/10.

Learning to work through plateaus will be necessary once you get to a certain point. That is usually when people give up. I have worked on moves for months before getting them (some even year and I still do not have them). There are a lot of transitions moves that I urge you to start learning and perfecting that do not take a lot of strength but do take balance and flow. You can tell the girls who are trick based because they have issues flowing from the pole to the ground to the pole again or even from one move to the next. There is so much more than just being on the pole so when you start getting frustrated "take it to the floor".

You will be amazed at how quickly that changes though. That is what makes this so addictive! You can actually feel and see the progress you are making. Oh, you can start to bid farewell to any button down shirts you may own; if you stick with it in about 6 months you will be busting out of them!

This is just a matter of learning how to control spin pole. You should video yourself….you probably are not spinning as fast as you think you are!

Not a big deal. I am in the middle of trying to figure out what to pack for this weekend.

Can you do a spinning chopper while in static mode? If you have the lessons here it is: https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4d1b710a-9968-4b88-a397-05330ac37250
Inverting *for me* in spin mode is approached very similarly to a spinning chopper. If I try to invert into chopper in the regular way I have a really hard time getting my hips up, however if I go into it from the side of the pole as if I was doing a corkscrew spin entry it is much easier.
BTW, after 5 years I still hate spin mode. There are a few moves that I am able to do but I still get dizzy as all anything.
