Got this website from someone….don’t remember who. Their prices for silks seem pretty reasonable.

I actually have small calves so I can’t advise from experience but I just got these and they lace up the back and zip up the inside…and they are a bit large on me even at their tightest so I think they would adjust for anyone with larger calves.

Empy, I want to see those on. They look kinda cool but I am not sold on them.

The boots that I have on in my avatar have ribbon laces on both sides plus they zip up the back. They are very corset-like in the way they fit, plus you can buy all colors of ribbon and change them out to match your outfit. They come with black, pink and red ribbons already. The only complaint that I have about these is that I have a gap down near the ankle where the lacing ends. I tried having the bows at the top of the boot but the gap looked funny to me. The bow really needs to be at the bottom to cover it up.

BTW, they are Penthouse Chasity. Penthouse is made by Ellie so if you know what size you wear in Ellie…. For me Ellie’s run big so I ordered a 9.

Resistance bands are pretty cheap, easily packable and are great for all sorts of exercises.

Follow your gut Amy. As cool as it may be it sounds like you have some serious doubts. If those are true and not just nervousness then you already know your answer.

Oh, and so jealous of you taking classes with Marlo.

Crap people, I am from NE Ohio and I would not want to drive in a foot of snow!

This was only about 4" that fell that morning, and my community is GOOD about salting and pushing the snow:

It depends on the studio. Many times they have open pole or you can book a party. Instructors are whether you want them or not but again depends on the studio.

I have had MANY of these in the last 2 years. At the beginning of this year I was trying to caterpillar climb and when I finally got it (after several months) I ended up fatiguing and falling head first onto the ground. I could not even think about doing that for at least 3 months…I was scared to DEATH. After I went back to it I got the straight edge almost immediately but just got the aysha about 3 weeks ago. I have been trying that since the beginning of summer. When I get into ruts I just work on transitions and spins and such. There is so much more than "tricks". When my body decides that I can do the move it will happen. Usually after my ruts I nail a bunch of things all at once again.

I have been finding that as the structure of my body changes some of the stuff that used to come easily is not so easy any more so I almost have to relearn. I am also finding that if I am not on a regular workout schedule then my down time after class is much longer. I cannot wait until the holidays are over so that I can get back to a somewhat regular schedule.

I have 2 heating pads that I have bungeed around my pole in the past. I don’t see why the heating cables would not work, just wrapping and unwrapping would be a pain. I am also not sure how well they will stay in place without insulation around them.

There were a bunch of fakes that are selling on ebay for under $200.

    Here are ways to tell:
    1) The upper dome is made of plastic, it has black rubber around it and the silver section is very thin plastic. ( this will crack on pressure being applied)
    2) The base is not articulating.
    3) The base does not have our little X’s on them.
    4) The joints are not welded together therefore they will come out and the pole will just be a tube.
    5) The instructions are a photo copy and the DVD is also a bad copy.
    6) There are only 2 ball bearings – this means the pole will not spin under pressure.

I am 90 minutes pretty much from anywhere you are are talking so depending on when I am game.

Are there any studios near you? I know there is one opening in Sheffield Lake but that is a cruise from you. I also know of Dolphin Dance in Columbus and possibly one other in that area.

Corn Huskers Lotion and plain old aloe vera gel work wonders also and don’t have the slip factor that regular moisturizers contain. I have also heard that shaving cream helps but I have never tried it.

My favorite stuff to wear is a tank and a pair of shorts (the shorter the better). Seeing as it is your first class a t-shirt will be fine and you may even be able to get away with yoga pants. I would call the studio to find out.

As for flexibility…don’t worry. All instructors know how to work with all sorts of people (well, at least the should). For many people it is the first time they are exercising in years. You will be fine….just a forewarning, you WILL be addicted!

Runemist, Target has a line of undies from Gilligan & O’Malley that are decent, cover the "pooch", don’t roll, don’t ride and don’t camel. I have them in black and red (the turquoise and silver ones I bought are a size too small) and love them. They have a little sheen to them but nothing that screams "undies". My hips are about 42-43" and I wear the large comfortably. They come XL and XXL also. Seemless Boyshort . They come in a 2-pack for about $10.

Hanes also has boxer briefs made for women. They are a little strange because they have the crotch similar to men’s undies but sewn shut. I bought these in a bunch of colors and patterns from Walmart. They also sell matching tanks to these so you can look really cute and coordinated. Hanes Boxer Briefs. I am not sure what size I bought in these but I can look once I get home and report back.

    I have the M/6.

Target has a LOT of cute boy short undies that can double as pole shorts. A lot of craft stores have rhinestone iron on designs and all sorts of fun iron on stuffs that you can customize the undies in any way you want.

I will warn though that there are some really cute ones with lace right now that will NOT hold up to pole dancing. I split mine last week during class. I bought them in purple and considered the grey/black ones. Glad I did not get them!
