If you are thinking about using these for pole, don't.  Any of the stretch ones tear the minute that you clmb.  There have been a few threads on here regarding this.

I assume that you are wanting to use hairspray so that you can wash it off the skirt later?

I do know that many performers have used glitter on their bodies and makes a spray with glitter in it.  The bearings of a pole are sealed so I do not see that being an issue.  The only possible issues I could fathom is if you ended up leaving a lot of glitter on the pole and it would interfere with your grip.  But that would be a LOT of glitter.

I just was a pole cleaner a few weeks back and I made a fairy skirt that had glitter tulle.  There was a LOT of glitter every where I went but it did not mess up the performers.

If pole performers had to stay away from glitter I think we all would be doomed……

That being said, glitter is the venereal disease of the craft world…you cannot get rid of that stuff….EVER!

EVERYBODY has different difficulties.  Some moves that have been really easy for me are really tough for others and vice versa.  We all start somewhere.  I have been at it over 4 years and there are still a lot of things I cannot do that many girls are doing a year in.  Any move that requires shoulder or hip flexibility I cannot do and I have issues with finding a balance point with things like ayesha because I have long arms, long legs and a short torso.

Oh, you will be looking in the range of $300 for a pole.

There is not one "best pole".  There are several manufacturers that all have pros and cons.  I am not sure where you are located but the big names in teh US are Lil Mynx, XPole and Platinum Stages.

First you need to decide on material and width of your pole, then the rest is a matter of preference.

I will say that lots of polers on here have XPole just because of their ability to adapt to any ceiling height.  If you rent or may be moving in the near future, or even if you just want to take it to a friends house you are able to easily with an X.

Yeah, that was what I was implying.  A mild acid solution (vinegar or citric acid) helps in cleaning the tarnish off brass but can make matters worse if indeed you have dezincification.

Forget using vinegar….it may possibly make the problem worse.

I would contact Erica right away.  I looked up red rot and if this is indeed that you are screwed.  I have never seen this but then again, I am not a huge fan of brass poles.  I cannot even begin to think how this would have happened (plus the location is odd).

You can try mixing equal parts salt and flour then adding vinegar to make a paste and using this on your pole.

    (Thanks Trixie)

Again, call Erica ASAP and get this taken care of NOW.  You have not had this pole that long.

    Tube Release Tool (2X)

    FOR ORIGINAL THREADED X-POLES ONLY

Specially designed for the tightening and release of X-Pole tubes these release tools are used by schools and professional teachers.

The C cup goes around the pole and is held securely in place by a steel pin which goes through the pole tube. With its extended handle length increased pressure can be applied to the tube releasing it without damage.

The release tools are supplied in pairs and are especially ideal for solo teachers and people putting up and removing dance poles on their own.

The C-Cup Release Tools can be used with any 50mm (2") or 45mm (1.75”) pole that has tube release holes.

**** These tools will not work with the new X-Perts/Sport poles. ****
