Wow. I have to get me a pair of those boots. Do they seem to run to a correct size? Or do you need to get a size larger?

    Which ones?

I typically wear a 9.5. In the Pleasers I bought a 10 (I have a similar pair but in white) and in the Penthouse I bought a 9. I can wear socks under both (little footies on the Penthouse ones).

I have the pink one but if I had to do it over I would get an X pole. I like the portability and the expandability of the X.

The difference is that the 2020 has a side zipper and the 2025 does not. This means on the 2020 you can keep them laced and just zip in and zip out of them. The 2025 you have to lace them each and every time. The only problem I have had with having to lace them all the time is that the eyelets have a tendency to bend themselves shut, especially when climbing, making them very difficult to get out of.

My favorite pair of boots are the Penthouse Chasity which zip up the back and you can change the ribbons out to match your outfit. They come with pink, red and black ribbons to start.

I will also add that the front eyelet boots WILL bruise your shins, even through socks.

Do your clothes still fit the same?

I have a cheapy accumeasure bodyfat caliper that I rely more on than anything else. My weight shifts daily by a good 3-5 lbs which is mostly water weight.

And my scale with the BF measurement sucks. It says that I am still where I was at the beginning of the year when my caliper tells a whole different story!

Amyxshi taught e that trick. It is really good when you bust open the top of your foot from climbing. It is not too sticky that it pulls skin off when you remove it and it is also rubbery so it gives you "stick". I have also tried bondage tape but it rolls too easily off your hands/feet since it does not stick to your skin at all.

Aloe vera gel will soak right into your skin and not leave you greasy. I also have good word that Aveeno can be used. The DAYS without lotion is ludicrous. I have never had a problems with using lotion after showering in the morning and then poling in the evening. Corn huskers lotion, which is not that easy to find anymore, can be used to help while poling as it will leave you a little tacky.

It must be so difficult to decide where the cut off should be- there are just so many different skills in pole and nowadays there is such a wide range of talent. Glad i don’t have your job!! Good luck with the comp this year!Tell me about it!
We had to make a specific rule for the amateur level that wasn’t wishy-washy, or that people could work around. We had so many people doing stuff like knee holds, rocket man, yogini, in 2008, which we didn’t really think were amateur moves!
I am glad to see that others are taking this into account. It irks me to no end that so many competitions have "amateurs" that are doing all of the same moves as the higher levels.

It depends on what page you log onto. If you log on to the forum page you need to re-log onto the main page…they do not transfer. However if you log on to the main page then get into the forums it does (usually).

I watched Jessalyn and Tavon’s performance and the pole that she was on looked like it was going to fall. Had me a little scared.

From teh quick glimpse I saw they are wearing standard belly dance outfits. You can find them all over ebay and various stores that carry belly dance clothing. Some is VERY expensive, some is affordable. The music is also standard belly dance music.

Also, my employers (parents of the kids I nanny for) are obsessed with BPA free and other related baby stuff. Gets me thinking.
If it gets you thinking then good. If it gets you researching things on your own instead of all of the media hype and scaremongers, even better! I cannot stand when people form opinions of things because some group said this or that and have not done the research themselves. Bisphenol A cracks me up because there was one flawed study that got all sorts of attention but every single controlled study that has come afterward has been called a "cover up" because it does not support the original flawed data. But I digress….

Used to work in pharma prior to now. Most of the MSDS’s I found did not have LD50 data. I did find a few from the UK that stated 3mg/kg as LD50 ingested, which would qualify it as being toxic by OSHA standards, but for someone my weight (150 lbs) I would have to ingest 2tsp at one sitting.

I cannot attest for the no hands cradle but I no longer have pain from a knee hold (unless my sweaty knee slips on the pole).

Just to be clear about the "toxicity", rosin is pine tar. If you have ever gotten sticky from a pine cone or a freshly cut conifer this is what you got on you.

I have not had a hysterectomy but I would allow as much time as you need to heal. I would imagine it would be similar to those that have had c-sections. I had a similar surgery many many moons ago and remember that it was quite some time before my abs even felt normal, but I had a bikini cut. Are they going through or cutting you open?

I have used bowlers rosin poling before but I am sure that it is less tacky that the stuff you are speaking of.

The split bracket hold is very easy to tear muscles in your forearm if you do not do it properly. There is a thread started about 2 days ago by minicoopergrl talking about this hold. You should not have any weight on that bottom hand.

Knee hold? This is NOT an easy move and there are so many intermediates to work on prior to trying this.

There is a lot of strength needed for the majority of pole dancing. Give yourself the time to build that. I bet you can blow away 80% of the people here in body and floor work and transitions though!!

Not really sure this is a safe move for those that have only been poling 6 months or less! It is way too easy to tear your rotator cuff or do some serious injury to your back if you do not have proper form inverting and dismounting.

Yes you did Jen. It was the last pole that was set up right next to the door (I think, right??). I think you were showing me and Joel how to do the elbow hold on it.
