I know that the S Factor studios all had Lil Mynx poles to start out (not sure if they still do).  It may be worth a call to them to see if they had any issues in their studios.

  • My thoughts on the women being objectified?  I don't have any issues with it.  We are gorgeous creatures and should be able to show that without being called sluts or tramps.  I have more of an issue with Victorias Secrets models who look anorexic and barely legal than I do with strong sexy women showing their glory.  But I do not want to sidetrack this thread.  Maybe you should start a new post?

Voodoo!!!  I am in Cleveland.  What part of town are you going to be in??  There are a few studios in town, it just depends on what specifically you are looking for.  I am going to send you my phone number in a PM.  If nothing else we can get to one of them just to play (I know the owners of all of them and have keys to 2 of them!)

Does yours not have the little rubber feet on the bottom?  I had mine up in my garage with just those feet and had no problem (although mine was not a rotator)

I personally feel better when I use it but that is me.  The next day though I am right back to being in pain.

In the mean time spend a few $$ on a tennis ball.  You would not believe the relief you can get using a properly placed tennis ball and your wall.

Welcome to pole dancing!!  Shoulder injuries are probably the #1 or #2 injury we deal with.  XRays will do nothing.  Your money is better spent going to see someone whole specializes in sports massage.  I bought a year's worth of massages and go about every 6 weeks to get my shoulder worked on.  I get horrible knots usually right under the shoulder blade that cause all sorts of issues.  When I start to have trouble falling asleep I know it is time for another massage.

Hexavalent Chromium DOES NOT equal chrome.  Hexavalent chromium is a state of chromium that signifies that is is in the +6 oxidation state.  It does not exist by itself but as a salt, which makes it water soluble and able to be used in electroplating.  The METAL that is electroplated onto your pole is CHROMIUM, it has no oxidation state.

As for the lead, pretty much all steel contains lead.  Simple fact.  Since XPole is based in California and California has its own set of laws it abides by they HAVE to list lead on any product that contains it.  Lead has an extremely low skin absorption rate and the major risk is from organic forms of it.

As a side note, have any of you ever seen sodium metal?  In the metallic state  (which does not naturally exist) is is violently reactive with water (pretty much explodes), tey how much sodium do we eat and it is not harmful to us (with the exception of bloating and high blood pressure).

I thought that X Pole were manufactured in Korea, not China?

While no pole is perfect I can also say that I have had PS poles break and come down during use.

Have you called X Pole?  I know there are lots of people on here who have had their X's longer than a year.  Something is not right.

Amyxshi does an unhooked version and finds it easier.  I know there is a thread on it somewhere around here.

I have people try this from a side plank on the ground first.  Top leg is in front of the pole, bottom leg is behind the pole, hook the top leg, go up into a side plank, place the bottom leg in position (Momma, this was how I was showing you that one night).   The pole also is not completely in the knee pit, whcih is where I think a lot of people try to place the pole.  My placement is pretty much at the top of the calf and bottom of hamstring (on the hooking leg).

This took me sooo long to get to the paoint where I could nail it each and every time I tried and it took at least 6 months to get over the pain.

Upandover, are you sure you bought real X Poles?  The ones I have are in no way crappy workmanship or cheap materials.

X Pole has stage poles.  I have been on both an X and a PS and I would NEVER buy a PS star stand alone (as a side note, Alethea had a huge thing on FB about these poles and how dangerous they are).  I do not wish to hijack this thread regarding that but you can read a lot about them here:

There is also a company out of the UK called R Pole but they are SUPER expensive.

See and I think the X is easier.  The whole pushing while you try to turn the mynx has messed me up on more than one occasion, but the X is kinda top heavy.

The standard Lil Mynx has a mount that you screw into the ceiling and it is quite secure.  I had mine up for over 3 years and had no issue, but I do know that if you screw it into the drymall in your ceiling it can and will eat away at the drywall and if you do not regularly check the pole it can come down once it eats that hole.  I have seen their travel pole and am not enthused by it.  I don't think the amount of surface area they have on the ceiling is enough.  For the money X Pole is your best bet.
