It is not a coating, it is an anodization process. The entire pole is still titanium, there is just a current of electricity passed through it at a specific frequency that changes the oxidative state of the top layer of the titanium to make it appear gold. Titanium can be anodized into pretty much any color of the rainbow.

Do you have the picture posted on the web somewhere? If you do, right click on it and select copy link address or image address or whatever comes up. Next, click the little box between the U and the https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif in the box above. This will open up a box. Right click where it says URL and then paste the link that you just copied off the web. In order for this to work the image that you copy HAS to be a picture file extension.
Otherwise, load the photo to your profile and then just link it into this thread.

Oh, yeah, I was only able to find them at a little hardware store that carried metric. Lowes and HD do not carry metric, but I did not mention this since I thought polegal was not from the states.

MemberJanuary 5, 2013 at 2:44 pm in reply to: Difference between one piece and multi piece poles? Please do not buy into the hype about what is *real* brass. Brass is not even REAL. I can only assume that you got that "knowledge" from PS as that is one of their favorite lines.

TG is not a coating and SS is not the industry standard.
I personally do not like stainless as it is the most temperamental metal *for me*. There are many the LOVE stainless as it works well with their body chemistry. My suggestion would be to visit a pole studio where you can possibly try the different finishes. Not all stainless is the same. LM tends to be slick, PS not so much, PoleDanzer is similar to XPole's chrome.

MemberJanuary 5, 2013 at 10:54 am in reply to: Difference between one piece and multi piece poles?OK, so basically:
A multipiece pole makes it easier to to move and you can move from house to house or room to room without having to buy a new pole. For anyone living in an apartment or thinking of moving in the next 5 years this would be your best option.
PS multipiece poles HAVE snapped (I have witnessed it), but supposedly they have changed their design to meake the threading longer than it used to be.
X has a better sleeve design. Many complain about the sleeve on the PS and just basically turn it into a top loading instead of a bottom loading pole. AerialGypsy has done this, she would be a great contact.
PS still has issues with the threads not lining up properly. This has been an ongoing issue for several years and it is a crap shoot if you will get a pole that screws together properly on the first shot.
There were issues with spinning XJoints and the sides of the tubes on the X's flaring at the joint but I have not heard of this issue since they redesgned bot the tubes and the joints (about 14 months ago).
NO multipiece pole is rated for above 12 feet, so if you have higher ceilings you are stuck with buying a one piece.
I think that pretty much sums it up.

Now this is the largest of the set screws. I think the others are possibly 4's or 6's. What you want is called a set screw. The 8×8 I believe is 8mm x 8mm.

I was able to find them at a hardware store. They are metric which will make this easier for those every where else but the US. Here is the information for the one that strips out the most:
5. Stripped X locking set screw. This is the set screw that keeps the pole locked into the stage. I am not really sure how you strip stainless but we manageed to do it….twice. I have an idea on how this happened and it comes down to being in a rush to set up/take down poles and not having the hex key in all the way. M8x8 is the set screw that you need to replace them. The ones that XPoles uses have an oval bottom….I have been unsuccessful in finding those (and those that know me and my searching capabilities, seriously, these things are next to impossible to find). The standard cone bottom will work just fine. Lowes and Home Depot do not carry metric set screws. I ended up at a little ACE Hardware store. Also, The Grabit Broken Bolt and Screw Extractor, size 2 is what you will want/need to get this screw out. I tried a few different styles and this one by far is the best in this situation. I got mine at Lowes for about $8.

Please read about all of the people who have cracked their ribs doing an allegra. You can count several pros in there, too.

And I would think nothing of a 7 or 8 years old shirt riding up. Nor would anyone in pretty much all of the European countries. When has it become okay to pass our hang ups onto to other's children?

MemberJanuary 4, 2013 at 1:23 pm in reply to: Xpert squeaks wen in spin, is this a bad sign?I cannot remember for sure if the bearings on the X are totally enclosed or partially.
The total center part of teh dome is the bearing : http://news.buydancepoles.com/files/2010/12/x-pole-top-dome.jpg
This is what the bearing looks like if it was not in the dome:

The inner ring should rotate freely with just your finger. I had an issue with my bottom bearing when I got my pole….it was actually impinged when they set it into the bottom of the A pole and they sent me a whole new threaded section. A small drop of light machine oil in the grooves may be all you need. Typically if you have a sewing machine or electric razor you get a tube of machine oil.

MemberJanuary 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm in reply to: Xpert squeaks wen in spin, is this a bad sign? No, tight xjoints will not cause that. I would suspect that either one of your bearings has gone bad or they need lubricated. Ther are bearings in both the top and bottom of the pole. Where specifically is the squeaking coming from?
