Awesome! Hope everything goes through with the condo! They have a pole studio in river ridge, but I didn’t care for it too much! Marrow gras is really soon! Yahhhhh! I’m so excited!

Oh wow that’s awesome! Next time you’re down we should meet at the studio i go to (Polenamics) for a pole play session, if you like?
What part are you from? I live on the Westbank now but that’s only a short ride to the city.
🙂

I seen you live in Birmingham! I live in New Orleans and it is sooooooo humid here too! I have oily skin to mix with it! So I know your frustration. My best poling days are when it is about 75degrees outside and when I just get out of the shower. I seriously cannot even practice leg grips or anything – I slide right down. I have a cheap stainless steel off brand pole that I have been wanting to get rid of a month after i started poking. Money has just been very budgeted and its so hard to put it aside for my pole, unfortunately. But when I go to the studio for class, I grip like no other on the brass pole! ! It is a God’s send! Hope you love your new pole- in whichever one you decide. Keep us updated 😉

Try bodyrocktv workout on YouTube.
and their website is BodyRock.tv – yes, there is no .com 🙂Their workouts are short, intense, and full body. My arms, legs, and abs were so sore! The best part is these workout are free

I like tite grip because I have sweaty hands… I have used dry hands the longest and it works, but I hate the residue it leaves on the pole. The stronger I become, the less i need hand grip.
Never used itac and I really want to give it a shot

I really want to try Jamilla's DVD's also! =)
But something I am really excited about that I read on Alethea Austins Fan F.B. page is she is going to be working on a floor work routine DVD- don't know if she started or not but she said to be looking for it in the next few months!!! Just wanted to share with you guys!
=)

Pantera helped me a lot with this when I took a workshop with her.

To hold all the dancers essentials when heading out to the studio for practice? And I’m sure people would buy them the first day and use them for going to the convention.

Awesome Rixi ! She has two channels which her second one is posted on her regular one. But her new videos has a lot of remi sit combos. This is my dream move! Let me know how you like her 🙂

Okay so, i am NO WHERE close to being able to any upside down tricks/combos. But I like watching DirdyBirdy on YouTube. She’s puts combo vids up and tutorials, as well as, free dances.

Thanks Platinum Stages for validating that yall’s poles are made of “pure brass” with no steel core. I orginally thought there was no steel core in P.S.brass poles, but then wasnt a 100% sure so i assumed there was a steel core after reading others comments. Always go with first instincts from first hand knowledge. Thanks again for the clarification
-
I forgot to add that chemgoddess. 🙂 you are right about the steel core… What I meant to say that with xpole brass the coating is usually only an 1/8 inch thick as where anything more than not is not considered a coating
-
From my understanding xpole’s brass poles are not 100% brass. Brass can be a coating for stainless steel, aluminum, iron, copper, regular steel, and many other metals… Brass is very durable and extends the life of whatever metal its covering… Brass in its form alone, is a mixture of copper and zinc. That is why a pure brass pole is better than a “plated” brass pole (P.S. vs. Xpole) because like any other coated metal, it will eventually wear off… It may take years for a brass coated pole to start wearing down, but why not just invest in a pure brass pole..?. Many things are “coated” with brass. For example- chains on some purses can be coated with brass,- wires for air condition units, different screws and hardware… The list goes on
-
Hey Riddle! I know xpole has their poles made in China (not sure if that was what you mean by “they ARE in the us”) if you wanted brass, xpole only coats their poles with a brass finish.
Platinum Stages is U.S. made and is genuine brass (not coated) they just came out with a 38mm too and also have 45 and 50mm.. Hope I could help… 🙂 happy new years hun! -
the studio i go to teaches strictly on spin mode… so having veena's lessons on static has helped and i can't wait to resubscribe due to the many addition she has made with hooping and such =)
since i have learned on spin mode that is what i am more comfortable with; spin lessons would be a GREAT addition to the site =)

My name is Ariel— So thats where A comes from
Z is the first intial to my current last name
Blanco will be my last name when I marry my love =)
Honestly I have been trying to think of a really creative name related to pole and i just haven't thought of one yet that I like enough to change it to… But as soon as I do, I want to change my Veena name =)

Dang auto correct. I meant to put tite-grip not top-tire grip. ** LOL
-
It took me about 3 months to be able to climb. When I started pole, I could not even do a push up. I struggled greatly because of this. Try grip aids because if your hands are sweaty its not very helpful when try to build strength. 🙂 I use dry hands top- tire grip is also good. And what kind of pole do you have? That can make a difference. Also- is your pole by a fan or ac vent??? Mine is and I can’t pole with my fan or a/c running because it produces too much condensation

MemberNovember 19, 2011 at 10:05 pm in reply to: My Brass PS multi piece has arrived! Here’s my experience so far.I am glad your experience went well for the most part. 🙂 I heard so many negative things about their customer service and a month or two ago I decided to call them myself and ask some questions (which I really did need some clarification about the multi piece and once piece) But my experience went very well! The guy I spoke to very professional and went above and beyond with customer service. And I didn’t even order a pole. As soon as I order a new pole it will be from them (brass too) =) with America’s economy not doing so great, I also like the fact that it is American made. Lately I’ve been trying to purchase things that are made in the US, Canada, and South America. I’ve heard the lead theory about xpole and they also make the poles in China. I dont know if the whole thing about the lead is true through. They still make good poles though. The studio I go to has all coolest. 🙂

MemberOctober 30, 2011 at 11:33 am in reply to: Which size poles should I get for a new studio?i am still a beginner but the studio i go to offers 2 -50mm stainless steel, 2-45mm stainless steel, one 45mm brass, and one 45mm titanium gold..
myself and every other student just uses what feel comfortable to them and if two of us like one pole, we just share and alternate throughout class =)
