aww sascha i didnt know that either. thanks for sharing sweetie ::hugs:: always good to let off some of that steam to people who understand you best.. no problem i think this issue needs to be discussed and we need to find a solution for this issue. i too am careful about who i tell. only four people know so far, one of my closest friends shes my best friend and when she came over once we put it up and we messed around on it and we had good laughs. my mother, my boyfriend, and one of my brothers. but dont worry about what people say. i don’t. i dont let them get to me and i dont let them change my views, because i make my own decisions and its not up to anybody else to tell me what is ok and what isnt. so just know were all here for you. everybodys support can build a freaking monument! haha i love you guys https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

thanks veena. you guys are the best i swear you all are the best to ask for advice. and Rouge, were not Muslims. were Christians. and its not even about the like conservativeness. i can wear whatever i want and stay out as long as i want. were verry forward middle easterners haha. except in that poling area. my mom is actually cool with me pole dancing, as i mentioned before. and to tell you the truth i have no idea how my bro and dad would take it, but its just not a risk that im willing to take, not right now at least. it just wouldnt benefit me. they’re both very laid back and chilled out not uptight at all. but those videos are great! if i do rack up the nerves to tell them, ill be sure to use those. thanks for all the help guys. you all rock ! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Oh! thanks for all the response and ideas and advice! but the thing is, i am middle eastern. and something like this is VERY forbidden from where i come from ::sigh:: https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif they are small minded enough to not even hear you out after you tell them those three words" i pole dance!" they will just block out everything you have to say about it and proceed to go with their small minded bs -_- thus making it hard for me to tell my dad and my brother ]i just dont think that it would be a good gamble for me to upset my dad and have a bad relationship with him over pole dancing, specially since i cant move out on my own right now. i am NOWHERE near ready! i m not ashamed of what i do. not at all! not one bit! i love pole dancing. it makes me feel great and i love the workout. i was brave enough to tell my boyfriend about it and thankfully he didn’t perceive it as a bad thing .. although he did have to think bout it quite some time -_- and he does tease me about it every now and then but its just for laughs and nothing more. but i dont avoid telling people that i pole dance because im ashamed. but because im so irritated of all that "stripper" talk! god damn what do we have to do to get some respect around here??????? at least without having to explain ourselves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif anyway. thankss for all the responses guys! you all rock https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

haha wow i sound cheap! ]= well the thing is all they would have to do is come and sit there and watch me and let me know what im doing wrong. im not asking for lessons you know? just genuine help [: im sure i can master all the moves as soon as i learn where and how to exactly place my hands in order to accomplish the moves.. the videos im watching are youtube ones, and they are pretty advanced dancers. im just more of a hands on type of person i like being shown what to do. they wouldnt even have to do anything except let me know what im doing wrong you know.. so they’re basically getting paid 8 bucks for me wasting an hour of their life [= anyway. im not really expecting anybody to actually respond -_- thx tho!

yup yup. V’s right. i honestly think its pointless, unless your actually grabbing the very top of the pole.. which i dont think youll be doing much. mine goes on perfectly and i dont even put it on. the only time ive actually had it on was the very first time i assembled my pole, but since i figured it was literally pointless and just a cover, i dont even use it any more =) unless it bothers you that much, then call and see if they can do anything. =D

sorry that happened to you, but when shopping on eBay, you should KNOW to look at that sellers reviews and you evaluate how good it is. anything about 90 percent to me is considered good, yet i still am anal about it being higher. i like anything from 98 % positive feedback. this is what u do. ill provide an example =) >> search for your item click on one that interests you, and this will show up (im using an xpole seller just for example) >> http://cgi.ebay.com/X-pole-Dance-Xpole-Pole-45mm-Free-Bottle-of-Mighty-Grip_W0QQitemZ260308474932QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item260308474932&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

after that, look at the right side of the page, it shows

    See detailed feedback

those are the two things you must pay attention to. click on the "see detailed feedback" and you will read what the buyers responses are, and make ur purchase according to if it sounds pleasant enough for you or not. also make sure to notice how long they’ve been a member on ebay.. thatll tell you ALOT. Look at the feed back percentage, and look at what kind of seller that member is. this one happens to be a PowerSeller which is great. and if youre wondering what a power seller is here ya go>>>> PowerSellers rank among the most successful sellers on eBay in terms of sales and customer satisfaction. This icon next to a member’s user ID means that the seller meets the criteria for being a PowerSeller – consistent sales volume, 98% total positive Feedback

alot of ppl will try to scam u on eBay and only so many get away with it. but then again they do. and when it happens it sucks =/ so hopefully thatll help you when you decide to make your next purchase. hope you get your money back https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

Hmm. Well. as for me, i dont have a certain order in which i do moves. like i dont have a routine with moves in certain orders, blah blah. Honestly, i just do whatever comes to my head after doing the next move. and i try avoiding moves that. hm how do i put this. lets say if ive been doing too many left handed moves, ( as left being dominant) i try spinning around the other way, doing moves with my right hand (as i am better with my right in some cases) Then after i finish my workout, i stretch in the end since my muscles are all warmed up and have a bigger chance of increasing my flexibility. If your a beginner, as i am (only had it for a month up until now- exactly a month on the 6th) just stick with nailing the moves first, and then do them in a certain order as a challenge once you feel you’ve gotten them down, and see how youll do =) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif

honestly, it is r e a l l y easy. i have to put up my pole and take it down every single day, thanks to my small minded dad that will not approve. I find it extremely easy, and not too difficult to do it alone. first time my boyfriend helped me put it up. but i was able to take it down by myself. and now i put it up by myself too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

Wow thanks guys for all your help<3! im starting to think that i need to be a little stronger, so i can hold myself in position upside down without feeling like im gonna fall, which will give me time to put my leg in the correct position. yes Georgia you got it completely right. couldnt have put it better myself. if i put my pole up today, ill try and get a video in hopefully. but thanks alot for your help! very appreciated! <333333 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_king.gif

Thanks Taylor, but the problem is that even though my left hand is more dominant in all my moves (going counterclockwise) when it comes to flipping myself upside down, if im standing with my left arm to the pole, my right arm is the one i put on top while my left is on the bottom, and i HAVE to kick with my right leg, which in this case is my outter leg. maybe i just need more strength to be able to do it the other way around. anyway. THANKS FOR THE HELP! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

Thanks for all the feedback guys! really helpful. honestly. so ive been trying to flip myself upside down.. and im struggling a bit. i can totally do it, but i think im doing it the wrong way. this is what i do —

    Inside- Left hand below
    outside- Right hand above
i kick out with my right leg, and when i come to hang on for my dear life, my right hand is in the way. im trying to watch videos to try and improve, but im finding it impossible to kick up with my left leg. and ive bruised my hip several times attempting to do that.

    Help !! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Thanks Taylor! =) yeah i didnt used to stretch before either. i had been waiting to get my pole for so long when i got it im like forget stretching ima just get on this thing and start learning some moves. but what i learned was its a majjjjjjjjjor pain in the ass if you dont stretch and warm up first cause i ended up pulling a muscle in my arm, which set me out of pole dancing for a day or two. anyway. ive begun to streatch more and more after loosening up my body and getting my heart rate up, since i want to be able to master the splits. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_tongue.gif

I was just wondering. When you guys do inverts, where do you exactly grip the pole? in the videos it seems like its very close to the crotch but is it near the crotch or in the middle of your thighs? cause when i grip it near the crotch it hurts so bad https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

Well.. I’m having the most trouble gripping the pole with my thighs. I start gripping the pole with my legs i even use the crossing of the legs to get that good grip and i first feel the anguishing pain, then i start to slip off the pole nd slide down and if i were to grip any tighter, the pain becomes even worse. I tried to put one arm underneath and open my legs but i dont have that kind of upper body strength yet so i fell =( nd yes i do have some nice bruising on my thighs and some major thigh pain haha. thanx! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Woohoo! i got the courage to tighten it just a little more and the unscrewing wasnt so bad! it still happend but not as much as before. and i was able to execute the spins left handed easily with not much trouble! So since i was able to unscrew it easily while putting it down im going to tighten it a little harder next time! =D

December 15, 2008 at 12:10 pm in reply to: ceiling damage….

hmm. well im having the same problem but mine doesnt crack. it happens everytime after i put my pole up. my ceiling doesnt have a flat finish its shiny, so it leaves a mark and i have like five different spots on my ceiling. however when i tried to wipe it away with a wet cloth, (i used one of those Clorox wipe thingies) it came right off. Try wiping it away if its just leaving a mark. if its cracking the ceiling, then that probably means that that part of the ceiling doesnt have a joist. If you want a way to find where the joists in your ceiling are, you can buy a stud finder which helps you locate the joists in youre ceiling , and then you can place it in between the two joists and you shouldnt have that problem. If you dont want to buy a stud finder, then you can try knocking on your ceiling: when it makes a solid sound, you’ve got a joist. when it makes a hollow sound, its empty. its making that semicircle because you probably have it under one of the joists only instead of inbetween two. well, good luck! =)

Eventually, the pain will go away. The pain your feeling is your muscles being torn, because you are doing harder moves that require more strength, which you don’t have. So the muscles get torn, and as they start to recover they become stronger and you will be able to do those moves without much pain. the harder the move is the stronger you need to be, and since you haven’t done these moves before, your muscles arent used to this kind of exercise. so they will tear and recover. as for me, I just push through the pain until i cannot grip the pole anymore.=)

Well, i tighten it about as much as i can even my boyfriend came over nd helped me set it up the first time, and he was the one that tightened it and it happened from the first time. and i get scared to tighten it too much to the point where i cant unscrew it, since my dad is close minded i have to put it up and down every time i need to use it. -_- i do use the metal things that come with it but idk.. maybe ill try to tighten it a little more. about the gripping i feel like if i grip any looser i wont be able to do a thing -_- ugh this is irritating. well ill try to screw it on tighter nd ill let you guys know what happened. thanks for your suggestions!
