i know this is a little off subject, but do you have to convert your format of your videos to work in iMovie?j i have a sony cybershot and the formats aren’t compatible. Did you use a converting software?

I read that it only takes 3 types of formats…the problem is when i click on import and the box pops up to select the file, it has it shaded out so that i can’t select it because the format isn’t correct. I even tried loading it into iphoto then importing it from iphoto to imovie but it still doesn’t work. its really frustrating https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

georgiamarie, my security box doesn’t look like that…it just has a drop down box to select friends only and then i can checkmark each network if i want to below that (which i only belong to one and i actually don’t have any friends in that network for awhile now …it was a work related network….i quit ..) then below that it says "except for:" then you get to type in the peeps you don’t want to see the stuff. if "only me" is in the drop box then the other option below is "and these people" with an area to add people… thats crazy that its different… that just convinces me more how screwy their systems are. I also tried the other day to change my social plugins option….which i found the other day…i didn’t really think anything about it but now i want to disable it and can’t find it. I followed the ‘more information’ page and it says to go to the basic directory information to change the settings but it isn’t there anymore. I don’t know if its a glitch or if they’re changing things again.. either way i don’t like not knowing how its set right now or in a day or so….its aggravating.

I’ve also noticed that even if you have a group of people that are blocked from seeing certain pic folders or whatever, it doesn’t always work. I blocked everyone from seeing my pole pics except my pole friends and family…but then everyone started commenting on the pics…people that were not supossed to be seeing them. I’ve had to routinely go back and check that the setting stays the same. Privacy settings change alot on their own when they change their layout…which is now every few months or so…so check your privacy settings often. I think its bullshit about facebook but there really isn’t anything we can do about it. Fb has gotten so big…even ads in papers have fb and twitter logos at the bottom to show that you can stay ‘connected’ to them. I personally would love a new community website. I quit myspace because there was too busy and too much loading and crap on people’s pages…then fb has all these privacy issues…i thought we used to have to approve pictures that other people tagged in our folders but thats not so anymore. I can’t stand it when you have a picture up and everyone and their momma tags themselves in it when they are not in the pictures….i don’t like friends of friends clicking on a profile to see tagged pics and pics of me pop up. I guess i’m more of a private person and I like to know where my face is gonna be posted y’kno?

I have a question about the back leg…should it be pointed to the side or facing the floor?

what are some good stretches for the box splits??

I just realized the last post before mine was in march…so how has everyone been doing on their splits?? I also saw where the author stacey wrote another book called the EXTREME version for proathletes…anyone gotten that one yet???
do any of the mentioned dvds help with box splits? thats my next feat.

i actually found the 6 week guide as well…i’m starting my 2nd week today and i can already tell a difference in my splits. I’m super stoked about it! I follow his intructions more closely however…i don’t do the visualizations either…or the cooldown. (Does the cooldown really help??) But seriously warming up helps so much (another reason why girl’s have mentioned hottub stretching). I really wish i would have measured before i started but i was so excited that i didn’t… i need to go home tonight and measure where i am after a week of doing it. i have a pic from a few months ago when i quit my splits stretches (b4 six week guide)…so maybe i’ll post that and a pic of where i am now.. =)
p.s. about the leg raise stretch, i can’t seem to keep my leg straight long enough for it to help me…i shake alot in that one and since there is no force against my leg, its harder to keep it there. I’m still going to do them though and see if it gets better

The injury is so true… funny irony…my first pole teacher taught to kick and she was practicing while in class one day and injured herself do a kick invert. It wasn’t funny that she injured herself…just that its shows how the correct way is the only way. =) good luck! you’ll get there!!

You could do the fishflop! I think that would be fine even for beginners. Maybe the trucker girl and some slides outward and the clock thing with your legs in the air. If you can just teach a few moves then that should be enough…if its for 3-5 minutes then its kind of silly of them to expect you to do a pole routine without a pole!!!! Surely they’ll think the vids are enough!! Good luck girl!!

Yea my first thought was flax seeds when she told me about them. They aren’t supossed to have a flavor though. I just thought it would be good in sauces/dressings since they are so bad for you. I can’t eat a dry salad =) Any little bit helps. I’ve changed my lettuce from only eating iceberg to eating spinach leaves and some romaine and sprouts…i grow my own sprouts. Trying to implement healthy things everywhere i can =)

Yea the hardest part for exercising, i think, is changing it up after you actually find something that works…so that your body doesn’t get used to it. That or trying something new and not feeling like its helping so you try something else. i know i really need help in the diet department but i also know i need to explore the exercises too.
