I've been struggling with Superman for YEARS! i finally got it the other day after a class with my favourite teacher at the studio. I was going from cradle and kept getting stuck trying desperately to rotate my hips into superman, I was seriously starting to think i just didn't have the right kind of body for it but she gave me something to try which worked first time (and every time since for me! Woop!). Her advice was to "bring your top leg towards you before you try to flip your hoips over into superman, Do it like you are trying to kiss your own knee" It's messy at the moment but it gets me there… and i can make it look pretty later 🙂

Hello ladies! I had this same issue, no matter how much toning etc I did i still had this little poochy belly and never a flat tummy. I recently bought Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and i have to say i've noticed a massive difference in tummy fat since i've been doing it (about 3 weeks ago). It says you should do it every day for 30 days but i do other work outs so i only do it on days when i'm not pole dancing/Zumba-ing/running but it has really helped me. I'm even starting to get a bit of definition! 😀 Hurrah! It's pretty hard and i am knackered afterwards but it's only 20 minutes a day and when your muscles start to ache you've nearly finished so i can cope with that!

Cheers lovelies, i STILL don’t have it down! I’ve done it once or twice and it’s taken me by suprise both times! I’ve had people watch me at class to see if i’m doing something stilly on my way up there but aparently i’m doing everything i should be so i think it’s a mental thing! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
I’m getting a camera soon too so i’ll be able to post some vids for more of your awesome advice. I’ve learned so much just from watching you guys and reading the advice given to other people!
This is the best site pole dancing site i’ve been on. Love it! x

OUCH! I’ve had this happen to me before, usually when i’d overdone it on the spinning, the pole’s got hot and its rubbed the skin a bit too much. It used to happen quite a lot when i first started but now i’ve got a rather attractive callus where the skins hardened up and i only really get it when i’ve had a brake from poling and the skins gone soft again. Gloves would probably help if you feel it happening again… x

I have horribly sweaty palms… even when I was a gymnast I constantly had to have a pile of chalk next to me at all times for my hands and feet LOL. I wipe down my chrome pole with rubbing alcohol everyday and bought the mighty grip powder but still after my first spin/ trick on the pole my hands are oily and sweaty again. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to defeat this? I’m wondering how I can even do a 3-4 minute consistent routine without slipping off the pole instantly.
Have you tried liquid chalk? It gives me a bit more grip than powdered chalk… plus my friend has very sweatty palms and it’s the only thing that helps her to g et the grip she needs…

I have had this DVD a couple of weeks and have done it a few times. I agree with you Lily; she doesn’t hold some of the stretches for very long so i’ve been pausing the DVD and doing them for a bit longer so i get a good stretch out of it. It is good though, some of them are really strong stretches and you can feel yourself opening up the longer you hold them.
Don’t know if i’ll ever get into the splits but I definately feel a bit more flexible afterwards and it feels good to have a proper stretch!

Thank you for all your advice! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I probably do need to work on my ab strength a bit but that will come with working on lifting rather than hopping into an inverted V i guess! It’s kind of obvious when you think about it! It’s funny how you can’t see the answer when you’re doing it yourself!
