@ reeree-
I have a brass xpole and I had the same problem that you are having now- I was devastated !
No stick on my body but great grip on my hands.
What changed all that was making sure that my pole room had been heated up about ten mins before I went in there and I made sure I’d put moisturizer on either the day before or morning of poling.
Hope this helps you! -
I can’t post the link cos I’m on my
Phone- but look me up 🙂 it’s tinydancer0434 -
@ mechie-
Yes you will get it and yes it REALLY hurts when you first try it.
I recall the ‘playdough’ feeling! It does go away.
Almost all pole moves hurt like hell when you first try them but in time your skin will toughen up and your muscles will remember.
Don’t be too hard on yourself! Baby steps. Pole dancing is HARD work! -
@ empy-
I like your idea of learning how to reverse the move- that’s a good one!
But learning how to fall is a good skill to have- so instinctively you move a certain way to protect yourself.I definately agree with a crash mat- or something similar but getting a spotter who knows what their doing is a little bit difficult for most on here?!
I mean ideally- that would be awesome but unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world lol. -

Thanks hun! I’ve tried watching your vid before but it’s too dark 🙁
-
Lol at poledances comment! Your so right!
Personally I don’t have a partner at the moment but I’m really looking forward to suprising a new man with it. It’ll be so hot! He’ll think all his Christmases have come at once lol -
I have my song already 🙂 yay !
-
Thanks for starting this thread! It’s a beauty 🙂
Totally agree with what chemgoddess wrote- she was spot on.
I’ve started getting increasingly hard on myself so I’ve just bought myself a ‘pole dancing journal’.
I document realistic goals to work on, what I actually did work on and most importantly what I achieved or progressed on. No matter how small- it’s really been helping me to see that yes I AM progressing and a lot faster than what I thought! -
Yes megi indeed it does 🙂
Ive posted a video called new lights or something like that lol -
Congrats on the invert!!! YAY!!
As for the bruise- I get the weirdest bruises in the craziest places. I have a massive one on the outside of thigh after last nights practice?! I don’t remember doing ANYTHING that held on with that part of the leg! Weird weird weird!
Maybe post a video if your concerned about technique? -
We have a bit in common haha-
I train in muay Thai & pole dance and have a one year old.
I had my boobs done about 3 years ago but I’m not happy with them so I’ll hopefully get them redone again this year or early next year 🙂 -
That used to happen to me with my old ss. When the humidity went up!
Having the air conditioner on seemed to help a bit! -

I think you are being a bit too hard on yourself, it sounds like your really low on energy because of everything your going through. Your body has obviously needed a break to process everything.
Go back to it when you feel ready – you don’t need to force yourself before then. It doesn’t need to black and white thinking either.
I was going to suggest at maybe using the pole in your healing? Have some mood lighting and music, no mirrors, no cameras- no tricks (well unless it feels right) and just dance. Let all that emotion that you’ve been feeling come out In your dance.
I completely understand your frustration at ‘losing’ some tricks – but trust me they will come back in time, right now it’s about you reconnecting with your pole and having a good old dance- and a cry if needed. -

did the hairdryer trick not work?
how frustrating and annoying!
and no, you are definately not alone- as you know i feel off badly two weeks ago and just about broke my finger lol.
back on the pole 2 nights ago and got my superman (YAY) but i did have a mini fall before i got it. nothing major.
your not alone! it happens sometimes.
maybe you could put the heating on after all? and block off the vents in the kids rooms?
my brass needs to be REALLY warmed up to be sticky- otherwise i slip right off.
You didnt happen to wash yours with window cleaner or anything did you? i did that and it made my pole sooooo slippery argh.
hope your ok tomorrow https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Firstly- congratulations!
I’m an ex personal trainer and in my opinion I would say no unfortunately.
Having said that it would be ok If your only doing some easy spins or floor work but nothing requiring use of your core.
The body changes so much during pregnancy and very much so in the first trimester. Going back on the pole could feel like starting all over again due to the changes your body is going through. Pregnancy is not a time to restart a new exercise. (I know it’s not new- but it will probably feel that way).
I had to give up poling early on when I was pregnant with my baby- I missed it soo much. But it’s a small price to pay for a healthy bubs! -
Gosh what Is a ‘quick scorpio’?
-
Hmm never thought of that lol- I don’t know if the logistics of it would work tho- do you have any tips?
-
Meant to say ‘opening to an inverted v- not owning lol.
-
Lol I just discovered this thread and it’s hilarious!! Literally cannot stop laughing!
Glad I’m not the only one this happens to, I thought it was just me!
Luckily I dont get the dreaded qeef too often- mainly from a headstand.
But I have had it happen on stage before when I was a dancer a couple of years ago- OMG!!!
I don’t think anyone heard (I hope) but the customers were seated pretty close to the stage- so its possible- eek! -

MemberAugust 13, 2011 at 7:59 pm in reply to: i need to change my hair colour but im afraid its Overprocessed.40vol is extremely harsh on your hair!
Ive used it and it TRASHES your hair.
Stick with 20 vol and go over it after a few weeks to get the desired colored.
You unfortunately might have to put up with a slightly yellow tinge for a bit but it’s better than your hair breaking.
A decent toner should help fix that anyway 🙂 -
What I was meaning to add is- I could probably have them redone within a year- but would I be too old?
