Started taking lessons in pole in May 2010 after meeting my future pole instructor in aerial arts class. Went in full force and got my own pole later that year. After 4 or so years of consistent training and a hint of teaching, I decided I needed to choose between focusing heavily on just one: aerial arts or pole. I was getting too many overuse injuries from the constant training at home on top of the studio as well as teaching both disciplines and performing aerial arts. So I took a long break from pole for a few years only using it a handful of times. Fast forward to today and I'm still an aerial arts instructor and studio owner, but I just had my first child 9 months ago and finding time to get to the studio to train outside of teaching has been a challenge. So here I am, finding my way back to pole dance and with a shiny new Silicone pole since my old chrome beauty does not fit my current ceiling height.
