Yeah I’m with you Jenny. I’m always struggling with carpet burn LOL. It will be fun though.

What kind of pole are you trying to put up?
-
You can do push ups against a wall or on your desk. You can do dips off of your desk or your chair (if it doesn’t roll, LOL). You can do flutter kicks (scissors kicks? can’t think of another non-army name for them) from your chair to work your abs.
I want to stress the pushups. They’re great for strengthening your arms back and chest. You can do them with your arms out wide, in close, or shoulder width apart.
If you’re willing to get on the floor, you can do all kinds of ab work or if you only want to put your hands on the floor you can do planks. Those will keep you relatively clean and ready for work lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I bought a pole from pole aerobics…is this a decent pole?
I had that pole and it was a piece of crap. I tried one spin on it and took it down. Waste of money. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

It feels awesome! LOL. The funn y part is that as I watch videos of everyone else it seems so "unimpressive" but I’m still so excited to have gotten it. So excited that I’m scared to try it again for fear I won’t be able to!

I can’t wait to see an ice skater on the pole! I bet you’re gonna have awesome lines!!!!

Hi there,
I saw that you mentioned that you’re allergic to ibuprofen which is an NSAID and Aleve is alos an NSAID. if you’re allergic to ibuprofen check to make sure it’s just that drug and not others like it. Unless of course you’ve taken Aleve before and know you’re good to go.Now about the wrist. I’m no pole pro but I am a nurse and some what of a has been athlete (and a former soldier) so I know a bit about injuries. I myself have had tendonitis in the past (in my knee) and I know how bad it hurts and even when it feels like it may be getting better once you use it it hurst again. That’s the thing with tendonitis. The only cure is anti-inflammatories and rest. You have to rest it until it’s better. My knee tooks months to heal.
The only way to truly know whats going on with your wrist is to see a doctor. I know you stated your healthcare situation but, if you can’t go then rest it. Stay off of it until it’s better, no matter how long that takes. Using it as it’s injured could only make it worse and lead to prolonged recovery or serious injury https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I think thats the problem with grip aids. They work so well that you can’t spin with them.
At the studio I take classes at they have brass poles and the room gets pretty warm after a few minutes of 19 ladies sworking so after about 30 minutes I can’t spin to save my life.
At home I have a chrome xpole and when it gets warm it gets pretty sticky. I just have to wipe it down constantly. I use windex on the pole and alcohol on my hands (and sometimes the pole too).
I don’t use grip aids for the reason that you staed. It works good for holds but you can’t do routines with it. I prefer to work through the slippyness and just get my grip stronger to be able to handle it. I don’t have extremly sweaty hands tho. They r sweaty but alcohol takes care of it for at least a few minutes then I just give it another wipe after that. Hopefully in the future I’ll need to wipe less after my grip gets better. For me it’s a work in progress….

Maybe you should try some wrist and forearm strengthening. I’m still working on the wrist sit. I shelved it for awhile until I got stronger because I couldn’t hold it for long because I wasn’t strong enough yet. You actually just reminded me to try it again, lol.
