can we keep this positive rather than negative please? i think we have talked about the end result of pole superstar– it wasn’t a talent competition, it was honestly a popularity contest. but that doesn’t mean that the audience members tried to rig the vote.

i take classes at sfactor and i voted ONCE for the one i enjoyed the most.

Amy it’s ok for people to say how they feel about the competition. It’s just their own opinion https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif
And opinions are thre American way of life https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Plus I’m sure she was just kidding when she said that ppl were texting 50 times each. I only voted once too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

VB – when my girls get to SM they’ll be learning it from a reverse SM first. Going back to what Veena said – working the negative builds strength faster and from a pole perspective we have far less to fall if if goes awry.

Going into a shouldermount is very painful on those who haven’t done it before and while there are a lot of prep moves the reverse in my opinion is the best way to understand the sm V and they can if they wish keep there legs on the pole to acclimate themselves to the shoulder stress. They have the the option of when they want to take their legs off the pole vs, going up and hoping to grab with an ankle. If they want they can safely slide down the pole in sm position without legs leaving the pole.

    I don’t think it’s backwards at all.

I’m trying to get a mental picture of how to do a reverse SM, like from a crucifix? Do you actually get your shoulderon the pole or do more of a reverse chopper? I worked on my aerial inverts last night and they went pretty smooth so I’m thinking of giving this here aerial SM a go…

nakie pays. guys don’t care about tricks they care about boobies. lol!

AND stripping is a great way to make money – not sure how the economy has effected things as of late – none the less you’ll make a lot more money doing that as Miss Julie says than waiting on them. YOU have to determine your own boundries – no one can yes do it or no don’t but if you are thinking about it – you deserve to give yourself the option to see.

I hated dancing. I won’t ever do it again. But then I hated selling guitars and number of things I have sold. Stripping = sales and is soooo not my forte. I can’t sell grip aid to sweaty polers. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

You’re like me Charley, lol. I’m a horrible liar and I’m not good at faking enthusiasm. I tried stripping once and it lasted 1 night. I did pretty good money wise but I didn’t enjoy having to be up in every mans face. It got real old real quick LOL. And I didn’t want to talk to the guys I didn’t think were hot, LOL that didn’t work out well either.

The same is true here in Ohio….I don’t know of a single bikini bar, they are all topless or more and none are just dance.

The one I went to last Saturday was just stage dancing no lapdances. But it was full nude. I don’t know of any topless ones…I have heard they exist though…

I went to a strip club after I started taking pole dance lessons and had an epiphany:

You can’t collect money if you are on the pole!!!!!!!!!!

Those girls gotta get close to the customers so they can fill up those garters with that hard earned cash!!

Sissy, I went to Gentleman’s Gold Club in B-more on Halloween and there were two girls there that rocked the pole. Then I hit up Excape and the girls had no pole moves. Hit or miss I guess.

Me and my hubby usually go to El Dorado in Baltimore and I love it there. The girls are lively and fun. They hit the stage and give a hellafied show! They work up a mean sweat up there on and off the pole. Then they come out and do lap dances, chat you up, fuck around with you and make sure you enjoy yourself. One time I turned my back for a second and when I turned back around there was a girl doing a handstand in front of my hubby bouncing her ass in his face LOL. That was funny as hell to see and I went and threw her a couple of bucks. She got up laughing, high fived me and went on about her business.

I know that you can entertain without a pole and this was by no means my first trip to a strip club LOL. But it was the first time I found myself nodding off in the audience, that’s all I’m saying. If I hadn’t had such high hopes about the pole tricks in particular (based on what I had heard) I probably wouldn’t have given a damn. Plus I think I was really bitter about how expensive everything was LOL. If the show was impressive it would have made my $12 long island iced tea taste a little bit better LOL.

I guess I went there expecting a bunch of Alethea Austins to hit the stage. My expectations were just too high. I literally went there with my little notebook in my purse LOL. I guess my friend went on pole trick night….LOL

The girls were hot though. They definitely had that going for them…too bad they don’t do lapdances there LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

and I had also never been to a strip club that didn’t do lapdances https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

You’ll be fine flossybear! I’d tell you to make sure you have a good pole no matter what your weight was if you’re in the market for one.

The more you practice the stronger you’ll get and next thing you know you’ll be doing all that cool looking stuff and suprising your self! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

I learned this using the method Jamila describes in her videos. Start from the ground and try to position yourself into it. Once you’ve mastered it from the ground then climb the pole and try it.

I’ve found that having short shorts on so the side of my butt/thigh can press against the pole to hold in position. Its a bit of a balancing act. If the pole insn’t tacky enough sometimes its hard to hold the position.

Be careful or you’ll end up hurting yourself where the sun don’t shine https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have a piercing where the sun don’t shine. I wonder if this move would cause the pole to rub up against that as I slide down. Ouchies!

Also work on a slow reverse SM. Very slow and controlled. Try holding the SM split as long as you can – this will also build those abs. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif that’s how I eventually got the SM by working my abs with the Reverse SM…I would do the reverse out of the caterpillar and do it lower to the ground with a pole mat…it felt safer to me – like I wouldn’t drop on my head lol and got me used to that muscle movement/contraction with less kick.

Still can’t do the aerial yet poo https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

You were doing a reverse SM before you had the SM?

I have callouses on my hands, more on my ring fingers and I haven’t found anyway to avoid them. I used to get these from weightlifting and I remedied that with wearing gloves but we can’t wear gloves in pole so….you gotta get used to it.

I mean, they do have gloves but I’ve never tried them

Do you go into crucifix before getting into the butterfly position (ie removing your hands from pole after invert)? I find it easier if i go straight into butterfly, without ever removing my top arm- you get better grip that way. Either way, i’d say keep practicing the extended butterfly & eventually that will build up the grip & strength you need. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I couldn’t do split grip aysha till i felt like i could hold extended butterfly forever.. then i was able to start working on ever so slightly taking my leg of the pole for just a second at a time, and now i can do it no prob! So other than maybe doing some strength training, i’d say keep at it with the extended butterfly till you get very comfortable with it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

thanks az! i don’t go into cruxifix. it’s harder for me to move my legs out of the way to put my arm back if i do that, so i just invert and then do a little caterpiller and extend. i think my left arm is just weak sauce =/. guess i have to master ex butterfly =b.

If you’re having trouble getting the hand position from crucifix or basic invert you could try a half handspring into it. That way your hands will already be in postion. That’s officially my favorite way to get into the butterfly and I’m doing it more and more to prepare me for an actual handspring. The way I first got butterfly was going straight into it from basic invert. I have a video of it, it’s my first butterfly (so it’s shaky as hell, you’ve already seen it because you commented on it LOL) but it’s an example of the hand placement I’m talking about.

In this one I do a half handspring into butterfly at about 3:30

pole dancers aren’t strippers. we make this distinction all the time in explaining our hobby/obsession/passion… why wouldn’t it apply to strippers also?

Ahh…so strippers are not necessarily poledancers……I had not thought of it that way……they are two seperate things….cuz I’m a pole dancer….but I’m not a stripper. And those strippers were definitely not pole dancers….good point Amy! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Anyone have an opinion on this theory? Its been rolling around in my head every since I met Jenyne Butterfly. You would never guess she’s a world class athlete by just looking at her. She’s incredibly strong, but doesn’t look bulky at all.

    Mindy

I think body type has a lot to do with that though. You and I could do the exact same workout and eat the exact same things and end up looking totally different. I look at some women like Karol who is a tiny llittle things and has been poling for years and she doesn’t have any bulky muscle or biceps of steel LOL. I know I personally tend to put on muscle so I’m pretty sure when I’m 8 years in it’s gonna show with all kinds of cuts and rips LMAO! At least I hope it will! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif

LOL sissy! I’ll try doing this move again tonight or tomorrow & let you two know cos i really don’t remember! Although i’m sure someone else who knows better will step in with some wise words by then! I just remember holdin on real tight with my hands & leaning way back to get the pole.. umm.. you know, right in there. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif haha. But don’t know if that’s the proper way to do it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Do you remember how you got into it? From a pole sit maybe?

Oh….I think I’ve seen this before. But the girl had both hands on the pole, where your top hand would be in a normal wrist seat. I have no idea how she held herself in that position though….
