I am sorry to say , I dont think I will be making this one. I been thinking long and hard to figure something out that works , but nothing seems possible at this time.
I spoke with Sissy about *********, she would not be able to come because of her age. There policy is age 18, which i understand and was not the problem. I was really debating on bringing her in the first place.
Figuring Dan and I would just go , and take the three hour drive and have a good time. Then I saw the post about No spectators , so now that leaves Dan out. I did speak with Sissy again and to see if I could arrange something where Dan can just sit back to take some pictures and videos for us. Sissy spoke to the owner and she said again no spectators. I dont drive so Dan didnt want to take the 3 hour drive there just to drop me off and then do nothing while I was there having the time of my life. Sissy mention that he can go hang with her husband , but Dan didnt want to do that. Dan wanted to be involved somehow and meet everyone. Pretty much that leave me out .
I know there is a limit of those that could come, so is you can fill the spot , please let someone else take the spot.
Sorry Girls , I was really looking forward to meeting everyone and jamming and having a blast , but its not working for me this time. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gifI’m so sorry RaRa https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I’m still really really looking forward to meeting you one day. I’m sure there will be another opportunity. I wish I could have gotten something worked out for ********* and your Hubby, but the studio is strict on their rules and weren’t willing to bend.

Thanks to you both! This is such a nice and friendly place!
I will be sharing vids and stuff, just need to wait till mr Jones is not here — I hate filming myself when there are other people in the room… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

i know!! im excited but very confused:
kari was super sweet and sent me this information: "the pole jam is at XPose Fitness (http://xposefitness.com/locations.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) in Hanover, MD. I found 2 very nice, well priced hotels on the same street as XPose and i think they are in walking distance! here are the links the the hotels… https://www.starwoodhotels.com/alofthotels/search/ratelist.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.starwoodhotels.com/element/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=3051" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; … XPose is on 7550 Teague Road and the hotels are right next to each other at 7520 & 7522 Teague Rd"
thank you so much kari for sending me this stuff!!!!!!!!!! im super confused though lol. where is everyone staying?? does anyone know if there’s a train station or an airport near the xpose fitness? im not sure if i should fly or take a train…but i want to book my tickets asap…..
Hi Sascha! I don’t know where everyone is staying but there are several hotels right by the studio (as kari mentioned). The Baltimore Washington Airport is closest (just about 10 minutes away). There’s also the airport in DC but I’ve never been to that one and I think it’s about 45 minutes from the studio.
I’m not familiar with the train situation but if you’re interested in it just research prices near or around Baltimore or more specifically Hanover, MD (since that’s where xpose is).
Who all is looking for rooma mates? We gotta get you guys linked up.
Azriel (my little secretary) now that we have Kilala, Sascha and Fleur…what’s our total headcount at?
Roxy, do you know what hotel youre staying at?

What I do sometimes is write stuff down. I can take my laptop in my pole room but sometimes hubby is using the laptop and I want to pole. I spend a lot of time on here and on youtube watching videos and tutorials and I write stuff down, then take my papers in to pole with me. I try some things then when I get bored with that, I refer to my paper and try some other things. Maybe you could take notes as guidance for now until your situation changes?

MemberNovember 22, 2009 at 4:36 am in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersMan! did this ever blow up into something it shouldn’t have. I have to say that I read Sissy’s original post and didn’t get anything out of that other than her feeling really bad about what happened that night at the club. I don’t feel that she made any comments insinuating that pole dancers are better than entertainers in clubs in any way shape or form.
I think it actually took some courage and humility for her to bust out with a story like that in order to humble others that may find themselves in a club having a so called "boring" time who may act on their thoughts and voice them negatively. Sissy wrote this post of out of respect for the working women/men in hopes that their feelings may be spared out of respect for these people, not just as entertainers but as human beings.
My biggest thing here is that too often we loose context online or through email or text messages because we have no pitch and roll to go by to understand the intent of the communication. Things are often misconstrued. So I urge those to first and foremost, READ the post in its entirety. READ carefully and READ such posts a few times before you decide to respond. I totally concur with Roxy… slow that roll ladies.
In regards to freedom of speech, the whole point of Sissy’s post was to point out that very thing. She was simply stating that are all entitled to their opinions and some things as she felt she learned the hard way, are better left unsaid. I think she made herself quite clear when she titled the post "You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the Strippers" Funny thing is she didn’t even heckle. She made a private comment that turned out to not be so private. She felt bad about it. Uh, yeah. Nuff said. Otherwise why would she have written it in the first place. Especially Sissy of all people. She has been a fellow dancer and loyal member of the site since its inception and is a well received by all. I am proud to say that I know her and even prouder to say that I have poled with her. Sissy rocks!
One of the reasons I love this site so much and the people who grace its pages is that there is a zero tolerance for negativity here. And until today, I had never witnessed any. We are all so supportive of each other here and we do not have the room or the need for it. So to end this novel of a post….Be positive, stay positive and for pete’s sake….
Less jibber jabber! More pole!!!!!
I think you almost just made me cry. Seriously. You’re my bitch.

You guys are killing me!!! I’m a maybe, I’m going to see if my parents want to get me a flight as my christmas present… where would I fly into? where is everyone staying??

MemberNovember 22, 2009 at 12:11 am in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersHey PoleChamp,
I read your post earlier today (as I was on my way out the door to go pole with some awesome friends I met on this site) but at the time, I didn’t have time to reply. Initially I got all upset and flustered and wanted to reply angrily and give you a piece of my mind for getting so angry and rude. Fortunately I had a good hour drive ahead of me to cool off and think about everything you said and honestly I had such a good time with my friends and such a good work out…my endorphins are all kicked in and I’m in an overall good mood so… I’m just going to clarify a few things that you said and then leave it alone after that.I want to say first off it’s a shame you got offended by my post and I’m sorry that you did. Just like I was sorry about that dancer who overheard me talking trash. My intent was never to cut anyone down or make them feel bad about their ability. I would have never said that to any of them because…well, that’s just damn mean. When that dancer came out and started making comments about what I said I kept my drunken mouth shut, cuz I genuinely felt bad (I guess you didn’t pick up on that in my posts).
“SissyBuns wrote:it’s expensive as hell just to be in there! Drinks are $10 and up and you have to keep drinking or they kick you out!
So how many lap dances did you buy and how many bills did you tip? Lady, you are exactly the reason why strippers hate when women come into the club. Do we come to your job and tell people how much you suck at it?”As I stated in some follow up posts (that maybe you didn’t read), they didn’t do lap dances at that club. So..I didn’t pay for any lap dances (although I would have loved to) and I tip (generously) on every bill I get https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif . If strippers hate it when women come in the club, I sure can’t tell cuz I always have a hell of a time with the girls and I tip way more than most of the guys who stand around sippin brewskies and holding their crotch letting these girls work up a sweat for a few bucks. I started tipping even more after I started poling because now I know how hard it is and I respect them and the art even more.
“Sabrina wrote:Sissy – so next time are you going to get up on stage?
I am pretty sure she would get a beat down if she tried. AND, you should think twice about that kind of attitude. Strippers belong on the stage, not customers. How would you think about a man on stage? If any of you want to strip, go audition- don’t think that you can take our precious stage $ away just because you THINK you could do better.”I’d get a beat down? Wow. Really?
Sabrina was joking by the way and was not implying that I should actually jump my behind up on stage during a dancers performance and attempt to shake my shimmy and show them up. This whole post was said in jest, but I think you missed that.“MY students have respect for strippers which means that many of them know that they are better at it, but would never heckle or even THINK about performing!”
I don’t agree that all strippers are better than your run of the mill “civilian” poler. That’s seems like a ludicrous and general statement that’s just untrue. And I wasn’t in the audience booing the dancers and throwing tomatoes on the stage, I made a comment in what I thought was a private area and I felt bad that it was overheard, but honestly. It was the truth. When one works in the customer service industry, they should be concerned with one thing. The customer. And whether or not that person is getting the caliber of service they feel they should be getting. This has nothing to do with “strippers” as a population.
When I go to a movie and it sucks, I walk out and say “Damn, that movie sucked”.
When I go to a restaurant and I don’t like the food, I walk out and say “Damn, that food sucked”.
When I go to a strip club and find myself utterly bored and unimpressed by the dancers, I walk out and say “Damn those girls suck”.
That’s my opinion but that’s all it is. My opinion. It’s nothing to take offense to or get angry at. I think that if you knew me better you would have understood more of where I was coming from. I went to a strip club and had a boring and expensive time. My group spent over $800 that night on drinks alone…until we had had enough of drinking and were then asked to leave.
You as a veteran should know that when you work in the entertainment industry your job is to entertain. I wasn’t entertained that night. That’s all. I spent almost $150 to drink watered down drinks I didn’t really want and watch some cute girls hangout on a stage and chit chat with each other. I reserve the right to be unhappy with my service. No biggy. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

So what time are we meeting?

I’m planning to be there at 1, if you anyone will be there where will you be?
If you want my cell number message me.

LOL. I was thinking, "..How long have I been here, it can’t have been too long.. I haven’t even completely unpacked". Yeah. Sometimes it’s best not to look at the calendar.
So.. I should go for introductory pole? I’m not one to turn down free time, especially if it comes with a possible demo!
I’ll be there at noon!
Is there a class at noon? You’re gonna stay and pole with us too, right?
Can you tell I’m panicking?

Ooooo I wannna go to everyones workshop! I don’t think i could hang with ya’ll though.
Who’s giving the intermediate workshop? That’s the one I need, LOL.

Quick update…that I’m totally stoked about!
I got the results from my MRI today and there is no tendon damage in my foot! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
That’s a good sign because if the tendon was torn or ruptured that was more work the Doc would have to do to repair it. I want the least bit of trauma to the foot as possible and I’m really happy that my tendons are good to go.
Hopefully recovery will be quick and I’ll be back in action as quick as possible https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
I’m so happy about this guys, because I just knew it was going to say that my entire foot was shot to hell and that a ton of work was going to need to be done. Phew!
I have a follow up appointment on Tuesday to dicuss the next step https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I’m so happy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

I know Angel’s maybe is a no- she has a wedding to attend. Has anyone messaged the maybes since they obviously are avoiding the forum like the plague?!
obviously I am going to have to sneakily acquire a wheelchair for my shopping purposes.
I think there is another Angel trying to come Am. Not the one with the wedding, LOL. I think.
Maybe I can rent one of those motorized chairs…
-
I think the go -to stuff for beginners is the beginner spins like fireman, front hook and backhook. Teaching them some strengthening moves to work on wouldn’t hurt either. Pushups, dips and what not are great for pole!
-
ooooooh just watched it- nice! yeah that looks like she got into the twisted grip position after she kinda "swung" her body around so that her arm twisted.. looks hard. can’t try it though since i don’t spinny. Roxy i’m sure you can do it, you’re superwoman!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
It’s been like a whole day since she posted that so I’m sure she’s gotten it by now. LOL
