Those moves aren’t anymore unsafe then anything else. Like Amcut said, you can hurt yourself doing a firemen. You can fall out of a handstand and give yourself a concussion!

A studio and it’s owners do havethe right to teach what they want, maybe the owner doesn’t have faith in the people she has teaching those moves, IDK. I just wouldn’t want to see anyone thinking that a SM in particular was more unsafe than anything else.

I was eavesdropping on some good instruction and it worked. Thanks Angel….wh was actually teaching the straightedge, that I got first then the Aysha right after so I still thank her. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I lost all 90 lbs of my preggo weight plus another 10lbs…the only exercise that I do is pole! If you want to lose the weight you have to change BOTH your diet and exercise….but honestly I think diet has more to weightloss. How and What you eat effect how or if you will lose weight. I’ve recently been introduced to clean eating and it emphasises diet rather than exercise as the means to losing weight or getting cut! I haven’t stepped on the scale since I started but I’m sure I’ve lost a few pounds…here’s hoping!!

Pole dancing is a fun way to burn some calories…I can spend hours on end dancing! You forget that you are even exercising!!

Excuse me missy…you also use the elliptical machine as well ma’am. That makes a difference in your fat burning https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

These pancake recipes looks great…I must try them this weekend! I’m trying to get my whole family eating more clean! I can’t wait for my new cook book to get here so I can try some of Tosca’s "kid friendly" fare!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

That’s it. I’m ordering the kids book too.

Now that my mom is here to help me she’s having a hard time eating the way I do LOL. She tried to fry me some chicken the other night and I almost passed out when I heard the oil popping. She looked at me all confused like…what? LOL. I said I don’t fry foods Mom. She still fried herself some but baked mine. Now I’m on a mission to convert her to clean eating. She’s already lost 4pounds in the week that she’s been here!

Yeah those protien pancakes look like a good idea. I’ve ventured into clean eating too but I was never able to take my kids on that journey with me LOL. I mean, they’ll eat what I give them for the most part but I can usually tell that they really don’t enjoy it LOL

Oh man, I want to watch you guys strut your stuff! I’ve just started going to xpose. When is this awesomeness going down? Feb? Where can I buy tickets?!

    -Ashley

Feb 20th is the competition day. Im not sure when tickets go on sale. You can buy them at the front desk. Each Xpose has thier own preliminary night. Just check the website. Sissy, Curvy and I are all competing at the same studio. I see a crown for all of us!

Wouldn’t it be cool if we all won a category? LOL

I don’t think I’ll be competeing though https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif . Those close to me are forbidding that I even try so soon after my surgery and now that I’ve had it….I can already feel the range of motion that I’ve lost in my foot. It’s going to take months of physicaltherapy before I can spin on it….I could maye try it without using that foo much but I dont know if I wanna to compete all half assed. I don’t know. We’ll see how I feel in Feb… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

I used to get the wrist pain in split grip until someone yelled at me to keep that index finger on the bottom hand pointed. As soon as I started doing that, no more wrist pain. The only time it hurts now is if I forget. It’s such an easy step to forget, but it makes a world of difference!

LOL Azriel calls that the magic finger and she’s always yelling at me for not using it too. LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yep as I said I get lots of comments about my age and my size so I only allow friends to comment without approval.

Of course just seeing the comments can be upsetting but I’ve also noticed that the rude comments always come from people who do not pole dance, who 99% of the time never upload ANYTHING of their own but only link other’s vids, and also I don’t think I’ve ever had a rude comment from anyone over the age of 25. (though I know that many people under 25 are also repectful and nice)

I usually go and look at their page just to put their comment in perspective. If they have mostly links to anime videos or other are obsessed with linking videos they found from others, then I realize that their opinion is worthless anyway.

Now if Alethea made a negative comment on one of my vids, I’d feel HORRIBLE. But of course, Alethea would never do something like that to anyone because she is a good person. When you look at it that way, it makes the other’s negativity look less meaningful.

Wanna laugh? The last negative comment I got came from someone who had this in their "about me" section of their Youtube account:

"I am a good person, very friendly, i like help the other people"

What was the comment? "F*ck You!"…that’s all…just that.

This from a girl who is supposedly 12 years old…

Nice person huh? I don’t have any videos on youtube for a lot of reasons (mainly because my husband says he doesn’t want non poling pervs looking at my ass) but if I did…..I know the comments would make me sad for at least half a second before I deleted them.

I’m sorry your having to deal with haters Mini https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I get a lot of rude emails and comments too. It seems to come in spurts. If its a video I know some may have a problem with I change the setting to comments for friends only…the problem with that is you still have to see all comments to approve them, which is still hurtful. YT is just annoying, either my music is taken away or some loser flags me or I have rude comments. I had my "Carol of the Bell" video removed for "inappropriate" content….please https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif I have a new hooping vid I wanna post but I’m not sure if I’ll YT it or not, because I my belly skin folds up and hangs over, I’m sure some idiot will have a hay day with that.

Your a beautiful dancer and person Mini try not to let stupid people bring you down. Don’t even bother responding to them because they are NOT worth your time!!! Your fab! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Very classy and well stated Veena! I totally agree…BTW..what is a YT Flag? You say someone flagged you?

If you are flagged (its just a button they push) then you must be over 18 to view the video, it blocks the vid from minors. Some moron went on a flagging spree last year on my old channel. The video I just had removed was NOT DUE to music and there was NOTHING remotely inappropriate about it I have NO clue why it was removed…it was this video that YT took down.
    http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/2269" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

YT is an easy way for someone to target you and stay anonymous, I also had a lady sending me emails on YT when I was pregnant telling me I was no better than a drug user, because I was dancing while pregnant. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif She created 3 accounts just to email me, because I would block her each time. Some people are nuts-o!!

If your gonna be on YT you better have thick skin I guess. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif

That’s the video they took down? WTF for? Wow.

That’s not an option for me unfortunately for lots of reasons. Im thinking I may have to go for an xstage instead. But not only do i think they are much less attractive, but with the podium and my fairly low ceilings, i’d have to get it cut down, so it wouldn’t have much height to work with. Is it worth it? It seems like my last option to have a pole…

    How high are your cielings?

OK, well, three days in and I love it. It is a workout for the person who likes to be a little masochistic in his/her exercise…..which, since I am part of the "I love bruises" culture of pole dance, fits perfectly. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

    So far so good!

Have you been able to pole as well as do the workouts.

    Hi Jeng,
Like I told you in chat last night (or at least I think I did) that I know where you’re coming from because I had the same problem with my hubby when I first started. He even told me I was going to "stripper" school when I took classes and that I was being a bad influence on our daughters by poling. We had other issues in our relationship and once we got to the bottom of those , my poling wasn’t such a big deal and he learned to accept it for what it is. Me poling in my room with no men throwing dollars at me. Just me doing it for myself and feeling good about myself and what I was able to accomplish.

1.5 years is a long time for him to still have issues with you poling. It’s true that pole dancing has stigmas and ties attached to it to an industry that most men wouldnt want their woman involved in but….maybe he could narrow his focus down some to see what it is for you and what you’re doing with it. Have you asked him, aside from it’s ties to stripping, what his problem is with you, Jeng, doing it? I think your compromise is very adequate considering that he doesn’t even want to see the pole. Is there something he does that you don’t necessaily care for (no matter the reason) that you allow him to do because he thoroughly enjoys it? Maybe you can try a comparison to help him understand?

I was just so happy that it said that ANYONE can gain flexibility in the spine with practice. I am definitely a front bender and need to work on my backbends. I didn’t want to hurt myself so I didn’t work on backbends much. Off I go to the pole vault to stretch!!!

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I wish I was going with you! Hell, I wish I could at least stretch for that matter LOL. In due time I suppose…
