    Ok, I’m in.

I have one main goal and that is to get rid of the Budda belly. I bitch and bitch and bitch about it, yet I don’t do ab work enough because I hate it. I need to quit the fussin and get to work. I want to lose at least 5 inches from my stomach before bikini season and if I can get like a 1 pack or something, that’d be nice too. LOL

    Current measurment Waist 29.5 inches
Belly Pouch (in fully relaxed state) 33 inches.

I will do ab work every other day. That’s my goal.
I will also decrease my daily wine intake https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
I will eat more fruit and veggies and add more protien to my diet.
    I will workout 5 days a week.
I will pole at least 3 times a week.

    Pole Goals

    Perfect straight edge and Aysha
    Get a good caterpillar climb
Get a superman and a knee hold
Work on the floor at least once a week
    Get aerial Shoulder Mount
    Work on scorpio
Work on inverting on both sides
    Work on side climbing

And of course get that dredded Cross Ankle Release! You will be mine!

    Sissy, I wanna cry!!!
Lucky you girl! My husband is NOT like yours at all, he secretly hates what I do, he doesn’t want the pole in the house, and I end up going to the garage (frizzing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif ).
I say you are very very lucky to have a man like yours to support you and your passion https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
    https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif to Reggie!!
    Kiss

    Hi Pipa,
Reggie used to be a pole hater too so I totally feel your pain. I would have to sneak and say I was going to the gym when I wanted to take classes, or go during my lunchbreak at work because he would always give me a hard time about it if he knew I was going.

I think starting a progress thread would be a great idea. I’ve just done week 1 of the p90x, loving the excersice but I’m having trouble trying to eat better. I have no will power!! x

Here’s a tip you might want to try to eat better…bodybuilders, figure, and fitness competitors prepare all their meals ahead. They portion them out to re-heat throughout the day as well as their snacks. I have been doing this for a year now for my training…it gets easier after the 1st wk because your body becomes used to it….I eat every 3 hours…by keeping yourself "unhungry" (is that a word?! LOL) you don’t crave the bad carbs because your blood sugar stays level…..that’s what causes you to crave the simple sugars, sweets etc. I have not had those craving for a long time so it’s not a struggle for me. It is the way our bodies were meant to work…to keep your metabolism burning high you need to fuel it consistently…it will feed your muscle to burn the fat. I’m sooo proud of you ladies for choosing better health habits…you guys ROCK!!!

p.s Always eat something after working out/exercising that has protein and you can add a simple carb…piece of fruit or a handful of cold cereal…that’s when your body needs the simple carbs the most!

Lilbit you’re my "body role model"!!!! LOL I wanna look just like you when I grow up!

I eat often too to avoid getting hungry because when I get hungry I’ll eat whatever is in site, and lot’s of it!

You can try inverting on tippy toes first. Don’t cheat and put your heel down, stay up on your toes. Its harder to invert with heels because your balance is a bit off and you can’t cheat and jump as easily and of course your leg line is longer….Just keep at it and you’ll get it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I am gonna have to try that tonight at the studio.

I want to see a vid to see what kind of problems you’re having with the shoes. I never realized wearing shoes made it harder.

If you’ve already taken a day of rest and it’s just muscle soreness that you feel and not an actual injury you should be okay to go for it. It might even help.

I’m no personal trainer though, so we’ll have to see what the Pros say. LOL

How about a challenge where you do everything on your weaker side? I did this as a challenge for myself a few months ago and BOY WAS IT A CHALLENGE! not only physically, but mentally as well! I caught myself standing there thinking, okay, wait, how do I do this the opposite way?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif LOL like doing the pirouettes doing to the right instead of the left for me was quite the mental challenge!

If I did that challenge I would look like I was on pole day #1. LOL

Yeah I think its way easier for me to stay on top of it if I have people keeping me on track…even though not a lot of people responded to this thread I’m still going to keep up with it maybe just to hold myself accountable for eating better/working out more. I’m going to post pictures but I will probably do it in my blog on here so I don’t scare anyone since I’m sure it’s going to be terrifying https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I’m definitely going to follow your progress. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I don’t know much about Insanity ( I can’t do any cardio that involves bouncing or jumping because I just had surgery on my foot) but from what I hear from BluntedEssence on facebbook….it’s a great workout. LOL

She loves it. Seriously. They should have her on the payroll for all the raving she does about it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I’d love to try it when I’m better.

and sissy that goes for all strength work…rows, triceps press, shoulder raises you get the idea https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif so unless your specifically working on flexion and extension of the wrist/forearms always keep a neutral wrist.

    Roger that! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

OMG, that’s just amazing!! You go give him DOUBLE of whatever sexual favours he wants! BTW, saw your reenactment of your pole princess routine on youtube and thought it was SMOKIN’!!! You’ve gone from pole princess to pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif in my books!!

    Thanks girly https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

It took a lot to get the old man to this point. A lot of discussions and compromises. He’s even coming with me to USPDF…he’s not going to watch the show though LOL. Poledance actually bores him. He says all the moves look the same.

    Can you believe that???? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Hey guys! Im still looking for roomies!!!

I think me and Poledancevienna are rooming together. we plan to stay at the Marrakech Broadway Hotel address is: 2688 Broadway New york NY.

I need girls who are coming in Thursday and leaving monday (if you’re leaving sunday that’s cool i guess having it split for 3 days is better than none) but it’d be nice to be able to just split it even. the room is a "double double" so 2 double beds. its $180USD total, a night, which is pretty good for the area and other hotel prices that Ive found. itll be $60 a girl with 3 people and only about $45 a girl if we get 4. if you want in let me know ASAP so it can be booked!

    see you all there!!!!

What the fudge dude. I thought you were staying at the Days Inn? LOL

In addition to what Veena advised pay attention to the position of your wrist when you are poling.

Your wrist should always be in neutral alignment – on the same side of the pole as your shoulder. Not wrapped or curled around the pole as this can cause tendon problems and carpal tunnel.

Plus you don’t have as much strength in your hold when your wrist is curled that way.

That wrist alignment is important for weight lifting too, right?

I lift too and sometimes when I don’t watch my wrists and make sure I keep them straight….they let me know, LOL.

The StudioX (jpa) Gals will be with Poletential too!! WOOOT! I know heather is like SUPER stoked about going =) its all she talks about ^^ This will be my first time ever in NY soo freakin nervous! lol <3

And speaking for the Poletential girls, we can’t wait to meet the JPA girls and all the rest of you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
    Don’t be nervous. NY rocks.
And as for shopping, a few tips for you:
Comfy shoes. You’re gonna walk your ass off.
A warm coat, could be freezing.
A bag to carry your heels and pole clothes in for workshops. We got Poletential backpacks last year and they were perfect.
NY isn’t terribly casual. I’d rather be overdressed there than underdressed, anyday.

xoxo Ellen (aka Sophie aka ottersocks)

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif What do you mean walking your ass off? Just like, getting to and from places? Cuz um….I’m still handicapped LOL

It seems like there a few concerns here.

    1) Will he be uncomfortable with you pole dancing with other men in the room?
    2) Will you be comfortable dancing with him and other men in the room?
    3) Will other women pole dancing in the room make him uncomfortable?

There are a lot of variables there. I know you trust your husband and you may not plan to be shakin your booty and wiggling all around, but you can’t necessarily control what everyone else does. What if some of the other ladies decide to have some fun and do some sensual or sexy moves and your hubby turns beet red and wants to be anywhere else but there? LOL

I’m not religious at all, but I can see where you’re coming from. Especially if he is more conservative, stuff like that may not be his idea of a good time.

If what you want to do is show him what you do, then I’d definitely set up some private time with just you two. The last thing you want to happen is to turn him off to the idea of pole dance all together because he has a bad experience.
