Great. Thanks Ladies!
I did some research on the net and suggested she buy a pair of the Mighty Grip gloves. They seem to be quality, and I trust the brand. Thanks for your input Dustbunny!
I agree Amy, with time everyone sweats less but as she is a beginner it is just SO unsafe for her to learn new moves as she tries to compensate by tucking, and jumping into the spins. I can just see a shoulder injury happening. I can see a difference with each class though- the old spins we learned previously she can do much better now.

That was an interesting statement from your doc! Lol makes sense though. My back pain had gotten pretty bad for two weeks so I finally went to the doctor and got an x-ray, finding out that I have mild scoliosis. I decided to take physio, and was happy to hear that the problem wasn't the scoliosis. Apparently, I use a muscle in my back too much, so the others around it tighten up, limiting flexibility and causing pain. I was too scared to try the chiropracter, but after two sessions my back already feels better. I also did a session of acupuncture. Lesson learned- don't live with chronic pain ! haha. Thanks for the support DWIIZIE!
P.S highly reccommend the acupuncture!!

MemberJanuary 6, 2012 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoAgreed! I had major customer service problems a year ago, and I deal with Janice almost everytime now. She is pure gold. So pleasant and helpful. Kevin was much better last time I talked to him too though and sent me out a replacement cone right away!

Please do! It will be interesting to see how it benefits you. It does sound like yours is more of a hip issue, but they're both connected, so who knows right. Maybe I will just call the chiropractor and tell him my story and see what he says. Thanks Dwiizie!

Thanks, I’ve never thought of seeing a chiro….sounds like its something to consider !

MemberJanuary 6, 2012 at 1:46 am in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoI think people view the video as biased because they love PS!!! Noone wants to see a product they love being outshone. However it’s great Veena did this so they have direction! I have no doubts PS will up the anty, and it would be nice to see carrying cases similiar to the XPoles. When traveling I have a dolly that works exactly like the carrier PS sells so I didn’t buy it. It would be nice to not have loose peices everywhere in my vehicle- although I have figured out how to pack them up pretty tightly.

MemberJanuary 6, 2012 at 1:32 am in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoI have used early editions of the SSA as well as recent ones, and I commend PS on improving their product. I do wish they would have someone check packages before they are shipped as I have had SSA
That don’t fit together well at the bases, and on a few of the SSA
The pins got stuck and do not come out. As well the plastic on the bases on some of mine were quite thin and you could feel them bow a bit while walking on them.
That being said the SSA is great for doing parties and events and I have even taught multiple classes on them without any issues.
As far as people calling them a danger- I completely disagree. I have never encountered any injuries and have utilized them for hours. A few small adjustments are simply needed.
I cannot give advice on X-poles as II have never used them but I will say that this was a fabulous video and I did not think Veena was biased at all.
Great video, and I hope PS will take the recommendations and run with them. -
Woops! Crazy iPhone. I am selling two brand new never been used PS star stand alones. I bought too many, and would like to free up some space. They are worth 700 but I am willing to let them go for 500 each as I just want to get them out of the way. They work great, my students just prefer the multi peice poles. I am in Edmonton, Ab!!

Are you in Canada TNB?

@cobourg
I am so confused!!! I emailed you and asked you if you sold and shipped in Canada and you said you didn’t!!! -
I have been trying to find information on this all night so I got excited when I saw the post….unfortunatley no else has replied yet. I would also appreciate info if anyone has it!

I started with the pocket pole app and still love it. SV however, breaks it down. Basically I watch the pocket pole app and then try to see if I can find it on SV. I've tried learning just by watching the app but I find SV makes it "click" that much more but I second Theo. It has tons of great video and pictures. Its organized very well too which I love.

Veena, I would also love some spinny pole tutorials. I am moving along through a lot of your lessons, but when i try to do it on spinny it just doesnt work!! SPINNY PLEASE

Here is a great quote that I tell all my students, and even believe myself.

I have tried the diva cup and I love it in theory! When I tried it it was really messy and I had the same problem as a lot of you- it went up so high I could hardly get it out. I was so freaked out after that I’ve been too scared to use it again!!

UPDATE
The mat idea was brilliant. I never used them for spins before because I thought it was kind of pointless, but I am using them for almost all my classes now and for some reason the girls feel safer and will get their moves much quicker with the mat under, even if they never use it!! Thanks so much!!

Great advice lopsi!
Feel for you though. I have had similar situations with my brother repeatedly but after being mad for so long about what he did to our family I decided there’s nothing I can do and holding on to resentment didn’t benefit me at all. It took me a long time to get here and some days are really difficult but I just accept he is who he is. You can’t change people. -
Thanks ladies, love the support. She was Trying to do the fireman at first and I did try the extended fireman with her as well as a few others…hoping that she would like one Or one would be easier than the other. I know it is not a matter of her being strong enough as she can do pole holds. She said it was just a mental thing where she doesn’t trust her arms to hold her. Maybe I will just start doing sits with her first and do some conditioning with her so she “feels” like she’s strong enough to do it even though she is now. I’ll try the mat idea too, it may work.
Thanks again ladies!
