I think it really just depends on who your teaching. Out of the girls I have, I have one that wants to learn the "sexy" side just to put a little something together for hubby. The rest want to focus more on strength building.

I just started teaching myself. Week one with the girls I started them off with a stretch and warmed them up. Then I taught them some basic spins and then put them into a mini routine. Then at the end of class we did a deep stretch. All 5 girls said they could barely walk the next day! The next week, more spins, sit on the pole review all moves add too routine. And so forth. So far so good. Good luck.

Anytime in June would be fine for me. Count me in. Just let me know the exact date. My son and girlfriend are moving there so I’m seeing lots of trips to Dallas in my future. If ya’ll are interested. And I know it’s really really early but Lara (thatlarawoman) from youtube is going to be coming all the way from the UK to my house Sept. 21 I know she’d love to go to a Texas Pole Jam. I’ve got her for a week so I want to cram as much as I can into that week!

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I carry my cell phone with me when I go workout. That way if I fall and "can’t get up" If I can just make it to the cell phone…. For mats I use the old mattresses (spelling) from my kids beds. They work great.

Ok I am getting really nervous. My new pole is suppose to be here this week. But I’m wondering if I didn’t make a mistake ordering the new XPert. I love my XPole and when I had a problem with a spot that chipped, I sent an email to the ladies at XPole and they shipped me a new peice out really quick. But dang, I never heard this many complaints about one of their poles! I hope I didn’t just waist $400.00 https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif

I just found out from my mother that Rangerette Revels are gonna be in Kilgore April 6th so I’ll be going right through Dallas the 5th and heading back the 7th. Is anything gonna be going on around then?

I cut plywood to fit under my dome which is screwed directly into the ceiling and have never ever had to worry about my pole doing anything. It’s not needed but it gives me that added security. If the pole did for some freak reason come loose. The plywood will catch the pole.

I order all of my shorts and stuff from Dancewear Solutions. For me I’m thin but I have had three kids so my stomach has that bump that I try to cover and those oh so lovely stretch marks that crinkle on your stomach when doing some things. They have all kinds of shorts and cute tops.

Walmart here just started to handle Danskin shorts and tops which I love. The shorts provide lots of tummy cover without going too high on the hips. Right in my price range too. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

I have 4 Birthday’s in my family this month so I won’t have the cash to travel. I’d love to try to set one up for June though. By then I’ll have the funds.

Uggg alright Veena this one is a big big stretch for me. But then it wouldn’t be a challenge right? I have a hard time with "sexy" Seems the harder I try the funnier it looks. Well we all might get a good laugh out of it right. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I had so much fun with the Dallas jam I’m game for just about anything. I love the idea of getting to spend more time with other polers.

Hey I found a pole studio in Amarillo… It’s called Night Songs. They are really limited though and I’m not crazy about that. I asked about open studio time and they only do that like once a month. Classes are once a week and are pretty pricey. But it’s a studio and I’m thrilled about that. I’m going Feb. 20 to check it out. That’s the first day they have for open studio. Wish me luck. I’d love to find a studio to call home.

Mindy I love your idea of a social network for Texas polers! Keep that mind rolling girl, you come up with good ones. As for competing. I still think I’m too old and have too far to still go for that but I’d love to show up and cheer everyone on!

Let’s look at the other side of this. I’m a thin girl. At the moment I weigh 100 pnds and hate how I look. I think women with curves are so much prettier. And there are def. drawbacks from being too thin. My heart for one. My doctors are constantly telling me I need to gain as my heart cannot support me on what I weigh and what I eat. I have lots of loose skin on my stomach from having kids and I do have the dimples on my legs. I constantly worry "If I eat, I’ll get too big" And yet I know I need to gain weight. My face is gaunt and that shows every wrinkle, every line. I looked so much younger when I was at about 120 pnds. Thin is not always better.

Personally I think everyone has something about their body that they don’t like but beauty comes from within yourself. So when I start feeling bad about how I look, I step back and think about the positive things about me. Always makes me feel better.

I’m here! Omg Dallas is a friggin trip to drive in. I found The Girls Room no problem… Everyone said. There are tons of hotels on hwy 75. Ok I found one. It’s nice though. The total cost of the shirts cost me 8 dollars. Don’t worry about it though cause I just did them so we could all have a suvonier. I will have 10 to give ya’ll. I ended up going with black and white instead of red and white. See ya’ll all in the morning bright and early. I’m staying at the Double Tree room 1002 if anyone wants to holler!

Ok if we are going to go for cheap then I will print them myself. So ya’ll want tanks right? I can get some cute sport bra’s at Walmart and print them or kinda mix them. I’m in the small boob club so just about anything fits me but if anyone that’s going is needing larger than a Med. please let me know. Veena was kind enough to send me a clear copy of her logo (Thank you Veena) to add to the shirts. I’ve been playing with designs all week.

I don’t drink either but I can’t guarantee I’ll be up for a late night. My health still isnt what it used to be so some days I’m limited.

I am bringing my pole with me.

Crap my last post didn’t post. I can bring my camcorder that I use for my workouts. As long as we can get to electricity to plug it in. My laptop also has a camera built in that we could just set in a corner and leave recording. My boyfriend is coming with me. We could always make him record! As for music I listen to a little of everything and my ipod is loaded. Do I just need to bring my link cable? The Tshirts I checked into this morning. He can have them printed by Friday when I leave. I looked at some really cute workout tops and they are going to run right at 18.00 a peice. Tanks are a little cheaper. So I was going to have like 10 printed. Do you think that’s too many or not enough? I could go get some tops and just do iron on transfer’s. That would knock the cost of the shirts down to about 5.00 per shirt. What do ya’ll think? Oh I’m getting so excited! This will be my first chance to get to meet some of the other ladies AND MAYBE DAVID hint hint… Oh and taller poles. I’m thrilled at the thought of getting on a pole, doing an invert without hitting the ceiling! Saturday needs to hurry on up and get here.

By the way if we can get a head count it would help. I’m planning to get about 15 T shirts printed for everyone and I’d hate for anyone to be left out. That is if the printer can get them done in time.

I’m coming from Hedley. Just south of Amarillo. Little worried about the traffic. I tend to freak out in Amarillo traffic. I have a friend that is going to go with me to help drive when the traffic starts getting thicker but frankly he’s not much more used to it than I am. I think as long as we don’t have to cross any of those huge gianormous bridges ya’ll have we’ll be ok. I pulled up The Girls room on mapquest so I have an idea of what I’m gonna deal with. I’ve only driven Dallas once and since then i’ve made a wide deture around it when I go visit my mother. Literally takes me about 3 hours out of my way to miss Dallas. lol Yep small town, country girl here.

Gotta get my hotel booked and was wondering where everyone else is staying? As long as the traffic doesn’t freak me out… I’ll be there. I’m planning on getting to Dallas Friday and leaving Sunday. Remember I live in a town of less than 300. I’m so excited. As of now everythings still a go right?
