I could post a ton of reverse progress pictures…not poling or really stretching for two years has really tightened me up!

YOu also need to consider what organization is holding the competition. Different organizations expect different things. Are you all tricks or are you a well rounded dancer (flexability, tricks, dance etc..). That would have a lot to do with which competition to try to enter. Most comps require you to submit a video and then you would have to be selected in order to compete. There are some comps popping up (Miss GA, SC, TX etc) that pretty much let everyone compete. As Chemgoddess said, there are people who have been upset about judging…not everyone can win/place etc so there will always be people who are unhappy and think the judging is skewed. Competing is NOT for everyone. I competed in figure skating for 17 yrs and pole competions are totally different than skating competitions. Good luck if you decide to compete!

How scary that must have been! Glad to hear she was feeling better tonight. Praying for a speedy recovery, positive doctor visit and staying strong.

Thanks ladies! I still have to take it kinda easy on my knee…no knee holds or anything that requires a lot of lateral movement yet. I'm excited to be back at it, although the time off helped me refocus my goals, I'm not liking the having to re-train my skin lol thank goodness for muscle memory and a strong will! 🙂 So far, three practices in and doing well…xoxox
NO Roxy spins for me atm…too much torque on my knee…:(

I can't wait to be back teaching! I miss you guys…

Congrats on wanting to be smoke free! I have been smoke free for 1 yr 8 mths and think it's been the best decision I've ever made. I finally drew the line when I realized that I would plan my whole day/routine around when I could smoke…how pathetic. I no longer wanted some smelly stick to be in control of when and what I did. I actually used Chantix for about 8 weeks and it worked so well that to this day I get nauseated when I smell smoke. I applaud you for resolving to be smoke free!! You can do it!

I hope the surgery goes well and if you need anything at ALL please let me help!! As far as taking time off….I'll be right there with you! Maybe we can crutch around together….OOOH!!! We should make a gimp video of us! 🙂 lol

I’m in upstate just shy of the NC border..about 1.5 hrs from you! Send me a msg if you want to work something out. ;). We could prob meet some where..

The finish may lighten some but I haven’t noticed it really wear off. I don’t think your friends pole is a real x-pole. Even the old ones didn’t have nuts or anything sticking up. Yes, it does spin! Let me know what you decided! Thanks!

Still available if anyone is interested!!

There is always more than one side and information is constantly changing as it’s passed from one person to the next. I’m sure there is WAY more to this story than originally stated and I agree with webbie. When it comes to donating we should not be so selfish… It’s about giving, not receiving!! It should be about helping women, not trying to “spread the word” of pole!

I remember when I thought the scorpio was the most amazing looking and impossible feat ever
I remember when I wanted to give up when learning the ckr because the pain was so bad
I remember when I never thought I would be good enough to compete
I remember the 5 bagillion times that I thought I couldn’t do a move because of my weight and then the 5 bagillion times I proved myself wrong….including a stalled tg liftI remember when Little C got her first pair of shoes and was so freaking excited!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

for the longest time I was trying to lift with my obliques…then I figured out that it’s not!! the lift happens between your shoulder blades. Once I figured that out I could lift it….
You really have to turn your hips/chest towards the ceiling…it’s a completely different action than the tg handspring

I know right?! She would even wear her socks with her heels!! LMAO!
-
This is rather interesting…I’ve been to a studio that didn’t allow barefeet!! Not because she wanted the girls to learn how to walk in heels but because she had foot issues. You either had to wear socks (lmao) or heels!
The whole not allowing fake nails is rediculous…IMO! What’s that all about?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
